Sometimes, you have to resist letting danger and the associated paranoia getting in the way of a good adventure. There's a balance to be struck for sure, in terms of being cautious and aware of specific dangers, taking appropriate steps etc, versus allowing the looming threat induced fear which leads to limitations (avoiding taking a route, or changing a plan to stay in a cool place). For bears (and general wildlife unknowns) it's all about percentage of risk based on doing certain things. Things that increase risk: food cooked in same place as sleeping (competing over resource), protecting offspring (maternal instinct), mating (increased aggression), and finally, pure bad luck of wrong place, wrong time. You do hear horror stories about the latter scenario, but I'd bet even those probably also fall into one of the previous categories which carry higher risk. This is all very logical, and totally ignores the primal fear we'd all naturally fear in such scenarios, but I think a key to maximising adventure is rationalising risk, being prepared, remaining calm, and beyond that, within reason, then pushing most of the fear away and just have an epic time.
Zero criticism contained within that for the dynamic duo in this video, was just something I was musing over while watching and thinking back on similar situations I've been in while travelling in amazing wild places!
oh, and also, being part of the Orange Army, super cool to see the bigger KTM's taking most of this terrain in its stride!

@@alexislecarb was lucky to spend a few years traveling about here and there. The wildest was probably India...it felt like going to the shops was an adventure. I did have one very memorable trip to the Western Ghats, where I got absolutely covered in leeches. That night I spent the night sleeping on the veranda of a homestay. All night long I kept hearing these weird animal noises in the forest behind me. Woke up in the morning and asked the locals. They said they have lots of leopards and they give the village problems each year. I said you could have told me that before I chose to sleep outside covered in blood! 😂

I am totally fine with watching all you banter and so on in french with subtitles. Then you don't have to think about speaking English while riding.

That's something we could think of indeed!!
One thing I'm always wondering is why not using google translator or so. Everyone is taking photos and stuff, pull their mobile out on every given second... but in such a situation, where one can tell by just the gestures that farmer made, that he tries to warn you and is quite worried. So why not pulling out the mobile there and use it as translator?!
I am really curious about it and have no intention to offend anybody with that question!
