DUDE!!!! THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO!!!! I just bought Blessed Performances sct x4 and cts3 kit and couldn't figure out how to change the power levels!! SO THANK YOU!!!
I think the head bolt problem is related to the failed EGR cooler and high cylinder pressures as a result. IMO if you take care of the EGR cooler before the head bolts and head gaskets have issues you should be okay if your not beating the guts out of it. But who knows I guess there’s a chance of anything happening. I know a few guys who maintain their trucks well and run tunes with head bolts.
Allen Pautsch I completely agree I'm at 210k all stock..dont be cheap when it comes to taking care of it, buy good oil and motorcraft filters, fuel filters and what not...drive like you have sense and it will last...mine gets used just not abused 😉
Jared Mercer dumping the Ford gold coolant solves 75% of the problems with the 6.0. Rotella T6 oil, Rotella ELC, only Motorcraft filters, blue spring, and a bypass coolant filter. I also run Hot Shots additives on occasion, specifically their stiction eliminator, just to help keep that varnish off the injectors. Truck runs like a champ with the SCT 65hp tow tune.
Jared Mercer mine has 350k in it all original no studs just a egr delete and a sct performance tune and of course a exhaust I beat the living piss out of it and never had a problem with the motor went through 3 transmission
I need some people’s opinions. I’m looking at buying this 6.0 with a stage 1 turbo, intake and studs and some other stuff done to it. Will the tuner automatically tune all that stuff to run together or not?
It is most likely already tuned to be honest. Changing anything on the 6.0 basically requires a tune. Some ppl run injectors up to 100cc bigger without a tune but in my experience and opinion they are being quite foolish. Not only did they spend gobs of cash on better performance parts, but literally throwing money away without spending the extra few hundred for the tune to get the most bang per buck.
It is not necessary to get head studs if you keep it stock, maintain it and drive it in a reasonable manner. I do use gauges to monitor the engine. I have 312,000 miles with an EGR still installed but I do clean the EGR with each oil change. I use synthetic oil ever 7500 miles. I change fluids at proper intervals. Running same transmission and with no engine issues. Stop trying to re-engineer your engine with performance tuners want monitor heat with gauges and adjust accordingly. My 6.0 is a 2006.
Same here I know this post you wrote is old but my 2006 is still running perfectly all stock as well. They're great trucks if you don't try and mess with the way they were intended to be. I pull anything I need to anywhere and always change my fluids like you even down to the full synthetic. People have no idea how good these trucks really are.
Is this full straight pipe no cat no muffler ? I just put the performance sct tune on my 6.0 my truck still has the cat I don’t really get any smoke but maybe that’s me being scared of lifting the heads I don’t get the 6.0 roar either just all turbo sound
QUESTION: if I buy a x4 that was used on a mustang and then put it on my f350 (6.0). Are the canned tunes the same or do they change automatically when hooked up to a new vehicle?
My turbo does not spool Down like all the other 6.0powerstokes 04 I have the sct tuner performance tune brand new egr valve straight piped turbo whistles but I don't hear a spooldown
I have one of these x4. But when I programmed my truck with the performance canned tune, I see the speed limiter but I do not see any option to set rev limiter. Anyone else notice this with theirs? Am I doing it wrong?
Hey bro quick question. I have a 6.0 with factory head bolts no head studs and I was wondering did that tune blow your headgaskets or not. I'm just trying to add a little more power.
I’m running on this tune also have f250 2005 I have Erg delete but my head gaskets are almost running out the way you will found out is by your refill your coolant if it’s leaking out so I’m going to remove head bolts and add the ARP bolts and studs
I have 2 f250 6.0s and will be using sct x4 for the first time. Can I tune both trucks with the same tuner? Do I have to return to stock tune in the first truck before I can tune the second? Don't wanna waste my unlocks :)
Hey buddy, I have the same tuner and did a dpf delete on my 2012 F550 and it went into reduced power, how can I get it out of reduced power? Please let me know, thanks!
Richard Herchkorn lol that’s a myth bud if it’s fluttering under acceleration you have and issue if it flutter when letting off the gas your fine if never seen a turbo blow from surge. People freak out it just air doing the same thing it does when it enters the turbo but backwards the sound is caused by the blades of the turbo chopping the air no strain is placed on the turbo.
@@TennesseeBass849 you are wrong. That flutter letting off is from built up boost in the charge air system coming back out through the compressor. The turbo is literally being stopped and turned backwards very quickly. It WILL break the shaft in the turbo. Not a fun clean up either.
Not at all, blown head gaskets in 6.0 are 95% related to a bad egr cooler clogging up your cooling system. Doing THIS with a clogged up system will make your headgasket go. But stock headbolts will hold up to this.

great video man. I've got to set up my uncles truck for him and this video helped out a lot.

Have you done headstuds yet? I know you said it’s not studded but I’m watching this three years later
They make custom tunes for head bolts.
Pete McCune
I have a ford f250 6.0 ,my question is: the tuner is good o no good?? because everybody say that the tuner is bad for engine 6.0
Lemay Suarez as long as your truck is bulletproofed. It’s great.
ARP headstuds EGR delete, and new headgaskets
Your truck can run up to 700hp stock if your pushing anything more than that you definitely need to
its a 6.0 your going to get head studs! we all have to its just part of owning one.
a2zoffroad yeah I plan on it. Just gonna try and make it last as long as possible.
I have 284k miles and no head studs. Regular maintenance and not beating the piss out of it goes a long way.

I have a 2006 superduty 6.0 powerstroke I need to put the axle ratio too ?which would be the best revs per mile axle size?
i can’t get my tuner to work for my 06 6.0 it says unsupported vehicle when i click program vehicle. how did yours work

He is definitely straight piped.

T k shouldnchange when you plug it in it’ll reset its memory to that new vehicle

Whats the best tune for transmission?daily driving
not edge
@@explicitsnipes ? Are you saying the edge tuner? I have a new edge insight cts3 for my 06 6.0

William Carnes my buddy has stick heads and street tune, he’s heavy footed and his heads haven’t gone yet, but he could be lucky
Alright thanks

You truck can handle 700hp stock no problem look for more information instead of hearing about it
I just bought this tunner on amazon, curios does the Jake brake tune make the truck sound like a semi when you let off lol
pierson jones lol no it does not. It uses the turbo spool top help braking under load.
You need a wicked wheel if you want that
You’re gonna have to upgrade you turbo fins or you’re gonna have a bad time
How have you been so fsr with out the head studs
I buy same but no longer bring the opción to off or on the erg valve
Do u have aftermarket injectors? Because I’ve never seen someone roll coal like tat with out them?
billy gray no sir stock injectors.
It’s a tune
I have 2 f250 6.0s and will be using sct x4 for the first time.
Can I tune both trucks with the same tuner? Do I have to return to stock tune in the first truck before I can tune the second? Don't wanna waste my unlocks :)
Minto Imam did you ever get an answer
I believe it only works on one at a time. Mine has the Vin code in it.
Have you done a top speed run?
I know the speedometer stops at 100 but some reach over 120
With this tuner , can you change the gear ratio in the rear end, like from a 373 to a 411 rear end?
There is an option to select your gear ratio in the tuner should it be something other than the stock gear ratio.
😂
Did you have stock injectors ?
How do you return it to normal if you decide you don't want the tune on anymore
T k just go back in like your gonna program it again but push return to stock.
Have you seen a mileage improvement with the street or performance tune?
Detroit Diesel 6.2 yes nothing crazy but I was getting few more miles per gallon
performance tune gets better MPG than street
What’s the difference between street and performance. What’s the hp/tq difference?
Do u have anything done to the truck or are you like bone stock
Is the truck stock. Motor wise. I wanna tune mine but it’s stock except 4in turbo back
he said it is deleted.
What if its 33s inch tires
What was going on with the dash when you were driving?
IMOTO nothing, just looks funny through the camera.
Cameras will do that to dash boards unless you got a high quality camera
Are you given a choice between automatic or manual trans?
Hey buddy, I have the same tuner and did a dpf delete on my 2012 F550 and it went into reduced power, how can I get it out of reduced power? Please let me know, thanks!
The tuners can’t delete codes but they can but you would have to know someone who knows someone
Blessed performance
I have the same exact tuner. Does anyone know why I cannot change my revs per mile axel size or egr delete?
4:05
Wow cam tunes and a truck with no studs that's a nasty 6.0
Do you know the hp differences between street and performance?
Street is 85 hp gained performance is 120
What does the unlock mean?
How do you use the eco tune?
Will it work on a 04 6.0 ?
Yes
I would like to ask you to sell them the one you are using
And 6.0 do not like to idle so set that low
Can delete o2 sensor gmc Denali 2009
Mazhar Hussain yes
That “turbo flutter” is a great way to explode your turbo. Lol

Then again diesels aren't ment to be fun are they? They're ment to work
Who cares, calm down Karen 😉
I got mine A day ago as soon as I put a tune on. Messed up my truck. Had to get Truck computer replaced
How do you un marry it
TractorSpeed631 it’s either in device options or vehicle options you can view the married status and un marry it from there.
Did you ever cut the catalytic converter off?
No cats on a diesel
@@SpawnKiI- they do have cats. The newer diesels i believe have cats, dpf and a muffler
