VF developer at least is saying that they are looking for a opportunity to bring it back with the exception of how can they differential VF from other's. DOA director left and 7 was supposedly canceled. Most DOA staff went to go work on Tekken. Basically DOA and Ninja Gaiden is in purgatory.

Stellar blade is a mediocre game that got praise because of fan service. Samurai maiden is a better and more responsive game with fan service than stellar blade. So is bright memory infinite.
