When you do the reversing one, it might be a good idea if you trained a camera on the wheel so people can see which way you're turning the wheel in order to see the effect it has on the truck/trailer.
Could you add an episode on braking? Specifically, when and how to use the air brakes, engine brake and retarder. FYI due to your videos I recently bought ATS and a Logitech G920 steering wheel and I am loving the game. Thanks for all your content!
the game looks amazing but im still sad that they dont use stuff like in 18wos anymore. like buying your own trailers and then going from company to company with an empty container chassis and only picking up / dropping off the container. or being able to buy a parking lot and put it full of owned trucks and trailers. or being able to come across hired drivers, which would flash their lights and honk at you. when going past each other. still dont know why scs ever got rid of those gameplay elements. it sure made the world you drive in seem more lively
+Lodewijk Vrije Ceo of scs said it was their decision to leave that out.. they didnt want to make a trailer management game but a driving game with only some business management aspects
Pretty good series of tips, though you should have added one about turning wide while following the lines on the road. When I first started, I was having an awful time with clipping traffic in opposing lanes while navigating narrower streets - especially with longer trailers in Californian cities. Because I was trying to drive the truck like a car. But by hugging either the yellow or white line (depending on which gives the widest turning radius) around the curve, you can avoid this problem.
That was funny when you tipped the other truck over!! You should be able to honk, flash your lights or wave when you pass another trucker. You should be able to buy trailers and haul stuff that way. Also, you should be able to buy a bunch of trucks and trailers and drive them as you please. Also, thanks for the Trucking School videos, you helped me a lot.
As far as I understand it, drivers are required to pull over and be weighed as long as the station is open - if you don't, cops will pull you over. Now, I don't know if this is how the game works - it looked like in some of Squirrel's other videos that you only sometimes need to pull over. Not exactly sure how it's implemented.
not only to weigh in but inspection of your trucks condition mechanically and to see if your logbook and othrr paperwork is in order, flashing lights before the scales mean you have to enter the scales for weigh in and potential inspection. the DOT or department of transportation can pull you over anywhere for inspection and to weigh you with portable scales. The police can do this as well. here in Canada that means RCMP. the weight generally goes by axle weight with a grand total of the entire rig. even if you are under on the total weight you cant be over on your axle weight and will have to redistribute your load. which means a lot of shoveling if you're hauling grain. as you get to know your truck you get better at loading so you're not overweight. its better to find a scale that's not manned to weigh your truck so you don't have any surprises when you have to enter a open scale.
I know about taking bigger turning circles in trucks. I've guys who have wrapped trucks around fence posts because they misjudged their turning circle. But I don't like how people complain about reversing a semi trailer. Try reversing a truck and dog or a b double
These videos are really helpful. I have had ETS 2 for years and i have not known about some of these techniques and settings. Thank for this +Squirrel this means i wont muck up in ATS and spend hours trying to get a truck out of a corner or area that i have got stuck in!!!!!
Glad to see you doing something like this, it'd be great to see some more advanced tuition on the more techincal parts of driving - tight/narrow turns, reversing at an angle, etc. A few diagrams and the like in there would be good to see, too
8:00 you just got 4 fines Squirrel 1. Running a Light, 2. Causing an Accident, 3. Speeding, and 4. Hitting a Patrol Car. Red Light is a $70.00 fine Speeding is $50 and up Accident $30 and Hitting a Patrol Car is $60. If you do this with your own truck and trailer you can get it fixed but if you have a load or leased trailer don't do this or you get billed and the costumer will reject the load.
When I got ETS2 I got it in a driving bundle, came with 18 wheels, Bus Driver, ETS1, and Scania Truck Driving sim. Scania Truck Driving Sim is great for teaching one how to drive a truck.
5:40 This is a fault of any set info. Game has been updated, and apart from braking and turning it off nothing will have any effect on CC. Accelerating will allow it to go over the limit of CC(releasing gas pedal will make CC brake if you have retarder installed) , changing gears manually will not disable cruise control.
Is it a true statement that the police ask you to pull in to the weigh stations? I'm not aware that is what really happens here in the states. I thought in most areas if the station is open, you must stop to weigh.
+State Police I think interstates also have signals telling drivers to pull in, I watched a show recently that was talking about the whole weigh station and there are passes that drivers can by so they can bypass them (those that have a history of staying within the weight limit). This is also state by state I believe. In Canada I have never seen a weigh station open or being used ever in my 44 years on this planet.
+State Police It appears you're right. Doing a little research it seems that different states handle this differently. I live in VA and just have never seen nor heard of a State Trooper asking a truck to weigh in.
+DaddyDooDoo I am also confused by squirrels explanation. I thought that the ingame scales work the same as in real life where if it is open and you don't have a bypass thingy on the truck or it doesn't work you have to stop. That only counts for the federal DOT scales (I believe that's what they are called) and not those CAT scales at truckstops which are more for checking your weight when you load the truck so that you don't get fines when you are on the "real" scale. But it may be possible that ingame police asks you to stop on the truckstop scale and weigh your truck. Please fell free to correct me if I am wrong.
I'm a truck driver cops to not make you pull in to scales there are signs right before the scale that's a when flashing trucks and buses must pull into scale
5:48 woah our driving instructor almost cut off a motorist ;) The whole weighing thing by the way, can you overload your trailer or something and risk a fine or ?
all the rucks in real life have to go into the elweight station unless the bypass light is green and that means that the truck doesnt need to go in the station the police car doesnt tell you to go in.
You have the whole scale thing (most of them are known as a CAT scale) at the truck stops wrong. Those scales are just for a trucker to know their weight. They are not a legal MTO chicken coup (Gov. weigh station). As for the highway chicken coups I don't think the trigger for them is when a cop car rolls by you, it just seems like it is because their is just way to many cop cars. I don't have the game yet but have watched a lot of video's (not just yours) and watched all 3 days of your Twitch.
Can't for the next one...since the days of 18 WOS Haulin' I can't reverse a truck with a trailer without some difficulty not even in real life...takes me awhile to get in position to detach...
You could have said that an option to paying for repairs after an accident is TO RELOAD the game at the latest AutoSave. Maybe everyone know this already - maybe not. You could at LEAST have said it.
I noticed your video shows there are 8 training videos but only 5 are listed. Were the other 3 removed or just haven't been made yet? I really enjoyed the videos though.
+Eric Adams ceo of scs said they might in the not near future make some areas like gas stations and garages more detailed so you could get out of your truck
if you are a bus driver You will know how to drive a truck when you drive a Bendy bus Like a Hamburg Articulated bus you need to make a much wider Turn Just a hint ;)
How in the world do I use manual transmission with more than 12 gears in this game? I have set up the buttons for both 1st and 2nd gearboxes, in trucks that go to 12 gears it works fine, I can shift in every single one, but when there's more than 12 gears i get jumps from 6 gear to 12, its like its missing another gearbox for me to select (Hi-lo)
I received damaged to my truck and trailer going down hill hauling a heavy load and I'm not sure how. Could someone help me understand what I'm doing wrong
+Ferramero nope they have not said that..they have said the main priorities are getting more states out and more trucks in the game. that will keep them busy for the near future
Please, Could someone help me? I have hired a driver but I get no blue messages when he delivers his cargo. Do I need to turn something on in order to get that message working? I would like to see how well he is doing and how much I get money! :) Thanks,
Squirrel, good night ... you should be more humble with his fans .. because I am not the only Brazilian fan .. now I am more sad about their attitudes and Brazilian fan too. . you and very good at it, all the best ever else you lost many Brazilian fans really wanted to win today .. .. more you do not look for your fans finally hope that one day this be a lesson
I'm a truck driver in real life and I gotta say... If you're not already, you should become an instructor. Good job on this series!
When you do the reversing one, it might be a good idea if you trained a camera on the wheel so people can see which way you're turning the wheel in order to see the effect it has on the truck/trailer.

me too i wish they would do that
Now you can buy trailers

Am I the only one who is kind of impressed at him managing to flip another truck?
These videos are really helpful. I have had ETS 2 for years and i have not known about some of these techniques and settings. Thank for this +Squirrel this means i wont muck up in ATS and spend hours trying to get a truck out of a corner or area that i have got stuck in!!!!!
Paul, I thank you for these training videos. I know if you were my teacher in Truck Driving School, I would have stayed awake and learned a lot more.
Glad to see you doing something like this, it'd be great to see some more advanced tuition on the more techincal parts of driving - tight/narrow turns, reversing at an angle, etc. A few diagrams and the like in there would be good to see, too

Me too.
PS: I think at leat 51% of the ETS2 drivers MUST play Scania Truck Driving Sim.
Police don't pull you over. There's usually an electronic sign on the sign on the road and a beeper inside your cabin that tells you to do so.
Whenever I arrive in my office in morning the first thing I do is to browse your channel for new video......
5:40 This is a fault of any set info. Game has been updated, and apart from braking and turning it off nothing will have any effect on CC. + DaddyDooDoo yes they do otherwise your company can get fined if they find out your trailer was over-weight
+State Police I think interstates also have signals telling drivers to pull in, I watched a show recently that was talking about the whole weigh station and there are passes that drivers can by so they can bypass them (those that have a history of staying within the weight limit).

Squirrel, do u plan on making a new series soon?? maybe something like cs:go, gmod or something like that??
My cruise control doesn't work.I press, but it turns off by itself.I use a wheel, but I don't have a gear box.
Its very hard to drive a truck lol I had to be very careful that I didn't crash while dropping off the delivery :P
You could have said that an option to paying for repairs after an accident is TO RELOAD the game at the latest AutoSave. Maybe everyone know this already - maybe not. You could at LEAST have said it.
I haven't seen the weighing scales or something like that in ETS2
I noticed your video shows there are 8 training videos but only 5 are listed. Were the other 3 removed or just haven't been made yet? I really enjoyed the videos though.
so you don't have to pay for repairs for the truck you t-boned? just your truck's repairs?
Would be nice if you could get out and walk around the truck and do a PTI.
+Eric Adams ceo of scs said they might in the not near future make some areas like gas stations and garages more detailed so you could get out of your truck
Also with your tandems all the way back your trailer will not follow properly
if you are a bus driver You will know how to drive a truck when you drive a Bendy bus Like a Hamburg Articulated bus
you need to make a much wider Turn
Just a hint ;)
Can somebody tell me how to get the good sounding AIR HORN instead of the turd that comes standard? THX
Whats the keys for the cruise control? Not the c for tempomat. I mean the control with 50 to 55 and 55 to 50
+Rabenfeder I use + and minus keys for that. Its easy that way.
thanks you all :D
Nice T bone Paul. loved it.

I received damaged to my truck and trailer going down hill hauling a heavy load and I'm not sure how. Could someone help me understand what I'm doing wrong
what they should fix: Once I did 1%, one freaking percent!(that's unnoticeable) and got fined $700!!!!! it wasn't even fragile cargo or anything.
How do I make the sharp turns with cars on the other side If road? I can’t take a wide turn like in the videos.
Is it true that SCS is working on a future update to American Truck Simulator where the police can pull you over and then issue a fine?
+Ferramero nope they have not said that..they have said the main priorities are getting more states out and more trucks in the game. that will keep them busy for the near future
Ok, thanks Jan Anderson.
BOOOOOOOM
great videos
How do we know who won the giveaway?pls answer
You so should of showed us how much was taken out of your pay for that trailer!
Should I be taking notes? :o Is there going to be a test? I'm not good at tests.
You say that you can use your xbox controller, so will the Ps4 controller also work in the game?
Yea
+Christian Kento Rasmussen
ok thanks
+ZK PHILLIPS for a ps4 controller to work on pc you use a ps4->xbox emulator that emulates it to look like an xbox controller
That's true about the fastpass
This is really helpful. :)
They say this is Euro truck simulator 2, but this is amercian truck simulator right?
BOOORIIING!!! You should make a guide on how to drift corners with a 20t trailer.

Search and see slaptrain
+Costantino GAMER (Audi A4) exactly what i had in mind!! he did drift a truck before, slap is awesome :D
Melody O.o LoL

I haven't watched your streams on this. I've only watched the UA-cam videos but holy shit....did I read that right....50million in cash already???
We now have owned trailers.
when does the episode 8 coming up?
How did he get all that money? Is it a mod? I have seen that in his European truck sim videos.
+Penguin1605 there was already a bunch of mods out even last weekend..seems some modders got access to the game also before the release
+Jan “Nekoroms Random” Andersson lol he isnt a cheating kind of modder like you're implying. He did it in cheat engine.
the police car doesn't tell you to pull over to the weight scale
Where’s advanced driving episode
all trucks are required to pull o over
Who won
Squirrel, good night ... you should be more humble with his fans .. because I am not the only Brazilian fan .. now I am more sad about their attitudes and Brazilian fan too. . you and very good at it, all the best ever else you lost many Brazilian fans really wanted to win today .. .. more you do not look for your fans finally hope that one day this be a lesson
Yeah true

you did you get so much money?
What the hell dude you flipped a truck !!

sorry but i see trucks go over curbs and stuff all the time so i think it is not that big a deal really.
+james42519 It is a big deal when there is a pedestrian or lamppost or something there, though. But, I can still see what you mean.
What time does it come out on February 3rd
