In this video, you will see RaDona do a frizz to fab- RaDona’s Haircut and style. Everyone loves RaDona’s haircut so this is the perfect video! This is one of our short haircuts for women over 60.
Today we have Bonnie with us. She met RaDona through our youtube channel. This special client came all the way from Nevada. To start out this client’s hair, RaDona added some red into her hair. Then for the cut, she wants something easy, sassy, and fun. This is a perfect hairstyle for anyone who wants something easy, sassy, and fun. This cut is perfect for anyone who is wanting to look younger. On this particular client, she wanted to have some of her shag, you do not need to do that, you can cut it straight. Before you start the cut, make sure you talk with your client to establish what side you want to be the designated longer side. With the short side, you will want to keep the length in. Not go back and forth like the other side. Make sure on the top and sides you are just taking small pieces off. You will use the point cut technique for this. By the ear, you will take the scissors and drag it a little bit, you will just take off a little bit at a time. RaDona informs you of how to tell if there is too much bulk in that section of the hair- it sticks out. On the long side, you will want to go tight around the ear so you can keep some of the length. After cutting, you will blow dry your hair. You will want to use an epic wet brush and the blowdryer to go both sides to help give volume and movement in the hair. After blowdrying your clients hair, you will use a flat iron. You will be able to see a huge difference with using a flat iron and using Monat’s blow out cream ( it gives so much shine). While she is blow drying her client’s hair, she is double checking and finishes styling/ cutting her hair. This way she makes sure that her hair is perfect and there are no little mistakes. Using the flat iron, you can start to spike the hair.

This haircut is perfect for anyone who wants a younger cut. This really helps make you look younger. This is one of our short haircuts for women over 60. RaDona really makes sure that the client knows how she is styling her hair and how she utilizes her products so the client knows how to style her hair in the future, and have it look like she just came out of the salon.
For products, RaDona mentions the Monat mask. You will use it once or twice a month and it does wonders! It really helps with adding protein back into your hair and really helps get rid of those pesky split ends. Before RaDona blow dries the client’s hair, she uses Monats Root Lifter ( which helps give volume to her hair), then she uses only one squirt of Monats Monoxifying Moose ( this moose is super concentrated so you will only need one squirt of it.), she then uses Monats blow out cream. ( this helps with heat, as well as give some volume.) She then finishes with Monat’s Rejuvenique oil and Monat’s Clay.

Love it! Question though - my mom’s hair is just like this lovely lady’s before hair style maybe even a tad longer. But my mom does not & will not use any hair products. Will the cut work ok if no products will be applied? My mom’s over 75 & won’t go to any new hairdresser & old one retired & no longer in area. So I’ve been looking here on UA-cam for something to try. Yup I’m a newbie with cutting hair but no other choice. I’m learning to cut mine too as I cannot go to any salon I have severe Eosinophilic Asthma so can’t be around any fragrances etc. it sucks but trying to make do with situations. Thanks for any pointers you have!
The products definitely make a difference, you at least would want a smoothing hydrating shampoo and conditioner if there is a lot of natural frizz. You could get a nice style but I would say keep it a little longer so there’s more to work with. Would she use a flat iron and blow dryer to style? If she did she would probably be able to get some thing nice out of the styling.
