I think it's an interesting and cool detail in a relatively "no one cares" film to have Storm Shadow try to save the guy who was falling.

Little known fact: In the original GI Joe comic Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow were not enemies, they just happened to be on opposite sides because Storm Shadow owed the Baroness a blood debt. To honor that debt he trained a ninja force for them. In the comics after he finished doing that he called Snake Eyes and told him his debt was paid. Snake Eyes led his own team to get him out. They were brothers who were honor bound to be on opposing sides for a given amount of time. They neither hated each other nor wanted to kill each other.

The Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes story is the reason why people enjoy GI Joe. It's the same for Mortal Kombat as well with Sub Zero and Scorpion.

A Ninja with an overhauled Motorcycle helmet, a Kevlar suit, two Katanas, and an Uzi is about the most intimidating thing I have ever seen in an action movie. Props to the costume designers for this film
I like how the equipment design still look practical. It would be more better if the kevlar have more pocket.
Fun fact, he's rocking an MP7, which is by all accounts better than an Uzi.

Storm Shadow has always had a knack of staying ahead of full-auto weapons fire. This is not new. Check out some of the old Marvel run GI Joe comics.

You gotta admit, if nothing else the G.I. Joe sequel had some great action set pieces like this and terrific costume designs. Too bad the franchise didn't start out with this level of quality.
