Super underrated channel! Thanks for the great idea, looks like it works a lot better than picking out pupa when I spot them

Thanks!! I'm also going to do a video on my discoid roach farm which is very easy to set up and maintain.

I’ve been using 3 separate totes to breed superworms. Once a week I dig thru the beetle tote and get out the baby worms. I am absolutely doing this. It will also take up less room. Also…use rolled oats. It don’t get moist and moldy like regular oats. Thanks for the video! I’m doing this today.

Looks like you're building an arcade back there! Awesome video, really cool idea and implementation, looking forward to the future updates on the successfulness the colony.

Hahah yeah I got mortal combat and street fighter on those machines. I need someone to play against though because the computers are extremely hard lol. I definitely will be doing an update video once the colony is established to go over what I learned since then.

I like the build and will be trying it out. A few pointers on the superworms, the pupa do not need to be seperated from the beetles they will be fine. The superworms themselves will not pupate until they are by themselves and need to be in isolated containers in a dark warm environment without any food or water sources (as this will prolong the pupation stage). i will follow this channel to see how you progress with this best of luck!
P.S. the bearded dragon on the second shelf down looks like its in a fairly small enclosure would be cool to see a DIY enclosure video for it.

Thanks for the tips! I've definitely found they need to be isolated to pupate which I've been doing now. Also, I just upgraded by bearded dragon's tank and it is much better and bigger and definitely will be making a video on his new tank. Thank you for watching! :)

4:00 so from my experience the best way so far is to turn it over and use a cutting board so you can apply pressure without the cracking/breaking of the material (works 90% better anyway)!

5:50 so in the case Wax Paper to the rescue... I always do the corners first so that it's easier and the wax paper helps me get good contact and makes it smoother and better looking (ps using gloves or cotton pads along with the wax paper will allow you to hold it in place longer without getting burnt!!!)

good job of making an interesting video on mealworms. I hope you plan to do some follow ups. I'd like to see how it works out.

Top two drawers are.correct. I use my third drawer for pupae because if the pulse are moved in to the beetle bin, they will be cannibalized. I leave "ribs" in the top drawer to help support the substrate of oats .

Do you just put the pupa in the beetle bin if you want more beetles? Like if u just want worms do you need to put more pupa in the beetle thing or just feed the worms to whatever?

10:05 also just try to remember to open both drawers at same time so you don't lose any eggs plus less of a chance to make a mess!
