Dr Darity is so brilliant so patient and knowledgeable . Can u imagine having a President like this? So righteous, full of truth and loving heart. Thank u Dr Darity!!!
Thank you for featuring Dr Darity. Bring him on again ….and again… There is so much to learn our lives as enslaved people, who built America and never not got our paycheck…Systimatic racism made sure we would never get it! We need to to learn about public policy, which keeps us poor….

They won't be. It's a waste of time and energy speaking about it. The only thing it does is inspire racists to believe that Afrian-Americans are addicted to government spending. If there was even the slightest of a chance of anything serious happening similar to what this pseudo-professor is stating there would be massive marches in the streets filled with Hispanics, Arab-Americans, Asian-Americans, whites, etc. All screaming about this specifically--instead of focusing on important issues like public education, universal healthcare, workers' rights/minimum wage increase, housing, etc.--is doing is inspiring division. I'm saying this as a socialist who is just using this thing called commen-sense.
@@craigbowers4016 I don't share your opinion. African-Americans are the only demographic who were held in legalized slavery in this country. Slavery was codified in the US Constitution. African slavery built the foundation of US wealth. This country wouldn't be as advanced as it is today without 200 years of African slavery. So, I believe reparations are due the descendants of African slaves. In fact, I don't think any real progress in racial wealth disparity will happen unless African-Americans receive reparations. P.S. I am not afraid of protests by other races---which I doubt would happen anyway.
@@justmyopinion9883 And because of this people living now who had nothing to do with it have to give money to people who didn't experience it. This reparations will be yet one more nail in the country's coffin.
@@mr.horrorchild4094 When the Japanese people were paid reparations for their internment during WW2, the money came from many people who weren't alive when that event happened. Me, for instance. My tax money was used to pay them. I wasn't born until the 1950s and that happened in the 1940s. It doesn't matter if you or I weren't alive during slavery times.
Thank god I graduated from Michigan State and didn't bother with U of M. Seriously. Grand River is my favorite stream! On point... do you feel that tossing $12 trillion would have an effect on the economy? Do you think this would lead to, oh what's the word, inflation? Would this lead to housing prices in communities/areas where people think that ADOS people would buy a home at would skyrocket? Other things too? If you were to hand out over $100,000 to every single ADOS in America wouldn't this have a massive impact on the economy? Yeah, a positive one in many ways. I'm from Michigan so Detroit would see some things happen. But could this be a bubble? Will this cash be invested in much? At least on paying off all debt? Oh, and how about racism. What response do you think other communities will have to this? Do you think Dearborn--a community filled with Arab Americans--will be jumping up and down with joy at hearing that ADOS people got a lot of money and that they got none? What about all of the lower-income white people in Michigan? I mean, there is already a stereotype held by many racists that many African-Americans are lazy and just live off of the government. Won't this sort of inspire those people and give them what they consider evidence?
I don’t really care what other groups may think or feel about this. The immoral damage is real and reparative justice is long overdue and payable. The debt continues to grow with continued delay.
Every enslaver who gained wealth from the free labor of American slavery and passed that wealth to their descendants who continue to benefit from that wealth today. Should pay what is due to ADOS.

So sad that this presentation only received 258 views.

Thank you for sharing this informative conversation. I hope that African-Americans will one day receive slavery reparations.
