I really like your videos because they’re no nonsense. You are informative and you get to the point without the typical UA-cam “star” theatrics, useless fodder and videos that are as long as TV shows. Never change. Anyway, I’m looking to hear your review of this piston because it’s on my radar for my next mod.
Definitely pinned this comment, thank you!! Sometimes I’m a little too informative and the videos go too long, mostly on my installs though because I think there’s a lot of things that are important to know. I consider them to be instructional guides more than entertainment, but have tried to incorporate some entertainment into them as well. These On the Bench videos are meant to be lighter and more discussion. Hopefully everyone is enjoying them as much as you! I’ve installed the piston kit already and am planning on releasing that video this week (it’s a long one, it was a big job). I’m yet to test it out though
@@John5XR you're welcome! Thank you for the pin! The good thing about long videos is that you can skip ahead if you choose. With short videos there's nothing the viewer can do about that.
Good point! The install video for this piston kit will be one of my longest, but I’ve gone over it several times already and feel everything in it is important. I’d rather people be over informed them under, so it is what it is!
Hey John, I recently ordered this piston and TI valve retainers from DHM. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you about this kit. For ECU Im going to run the PCV WBC2. I havent picked up a cam yet, but will probably go with TB.
Nice video! Very curious how much difference it will make. Did a Dyno test with the DHM ECU, was very lean but John send me a richer one within a week, Great Service!! Wednesday new Dyno test to see if it is oke now...
Me too! I know these are very popular with the Grom crowd, so I’m hopeful. The project is done and I’ll release the install video this week, but probably won’t get much ride time to do a review. Soon though
It'd be nice to see some before and after top speed tests with this kit. Just to know if it actually impacts top speed. For a lot of people, the monkey hovers right around be suitable for 55mph roads and this could be the difference. Also, maybe some roost test in 1st gear lol I know my bike with dhm stage 1 doesnt really throw a roost until the top of 1st gear and supposedly this high comp kit makes more power in the mid range
Absolutely, but only in the mid-upper rpm range. The stock cam is good for low end power but falls short on the upper rpm power. I’d recommend the gearing adjustment to make up for it or maybe the high compression piston

Nothing is more important than Honda Monkeys!

Cool! The TB cam is perfect, that’s what I run as well

All points I am going to explore. Especially the roost part 🤟
That spacer is the new spark plug spacer
Haha, yeah I figured it out.
You need a koozie for that beer, it's getting warm!
Who’s to say it was the same one? 😉 You’re right though, I have a nice TB Parts coozie for the next one
John I can’t find if you gave opinion of cam install Notice improvement.
Absolutely, but only in the mid-upper rpm range. The stock cam is good for low end power but falls short on the upper rpm power. I’d recommend the gearing adjustment to make up for it or maybe the high compression piston
I just noticed that on an older install video on another channel, the piston doesn't have the label "IN" on it.
I think this is version 2 of the piston kit
So same motor as the SuperCub too? 🤔
Yup! Might wanna talk to DHM about the tune/reflash though, surely it’s not plug n’ play with the Monkey setup
John5XR Have you got a contact for someone at DHM? I’m in the Uk!
I think it’s only one guy running everything, David Hugh:

John, your wrong! Wait, I might be wrong about that...
