- Hey guys in today's video I decided to share with you some Tips and Tricks to get your reptiles to eat their veggies. I've notice this being a on going issues when it comes to bearded dragon owners and often get messages asking me to help. So hopefully this can show you something new to try out and get your bearded dragon or other reptiles to eat their veggies.

This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about "how many dubias should i feed my bearded dragon?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Benophia Unconventional Bulldozer - (do a search on google ) ? It is an awesome one of a kind product for discovering how to keep your bearded dragon safe minus the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my neighbour got great success with it.

Thank you!! I have a rescue adult beardie and he HATES veggies and I felt so bad tricking him into eating greens, but I'm glad I'm not the only one 😄
I am about to try this technique with my rescue beardie as well, wish me luck.
I rescued mine from an abusive petco environment. And I lucked out with my boy eating his greens out the gate

all i had to do was tell mine that that salad was for one of her human siblings and she cant eatit.... i came back and it was nearly gone, i then said it was a good thing she left a piece for her siblings and she chomped it right down! my first one didnt eat his salad as readily, from experience i think that each is different. Also before anyone tries to say these lil guys dont understand what we are saying, they have been shown to be highly intelligent but in a different way, animals learn the body language and also a basic understanding of the spoken or sign language of their human care givers and will respond accordingly.

Just adopted a two year old beardie girl, her previous owner couldn't bring her with her when she moved to her fiancee. She is a good eater for dubias and worms but won't really eat her veggies if it isn't a "superworm burrito". I will try these tricks! :)
VERY HELPFUL!! I just got a little dragon. Very small, but isnt eating as much as I would like. She had 1 cricket yesterday and that's all I've seen so far. I might need to get a better light and make sure the temp is good. It hurts me with her not moving that much or eating. It also might be that shes new to the atmosphere, but it still worries me. I'm praying it will get better for her. I want a cuddler!
You and your dragons are hilarious. I've gotta relax more. I've lost my touch. She quit eating her greens & she will actually study my presentation. She looked at the worm rolled up like a burrito, turned her head & closed her eyes! I didn't give in. Tried hours later, she still wouldn't eat. The next morning, same thing. So I broke down & tried blueberries with mangoes. Nada. Mixed the worms with a "Beardie Green Smoothie" and they crawl out! She sits & waits for them to crawl out! I'm a 50 year old woman with college age kids still at home while working full time! I'm almost at the end of my rope. I love her & I rescued her a year ago. The vet said, "Yea she's a little underweight but load her up with green hornworms, wax worms & superworms.", which I did. Now I have a monster. Suggestions or hugs are welcome!

Put a curtain in front of the tanks so the light does not wake you up in the morning. You should get two drapes......one on each side that open in the middle so you can pull them open when you wake up. You can get special ones that block the most light. You can put pull back hooks on the side if you want. JC Penny’s has some nice ones. Lesley

Those babies are so cute! This was helpful because I am having trouble getting my draco to eat his veggies, I have to refuse to give him his bugs and then he will eat them which I don't like doing but it's the only thing that I have found that will work. I've tried changing greens, bell peppers, carrots, strawberries, and blueberries all in his salads and he will take a few bits and be done.

My beardie's previous owners only fed her worms, so she was spoiled. Would NOT eat veggies or fruit. I tried EVERY suggestion and nothing worked.
I found a way to make her eat them though...I bring her outside, and when she warms up enough to open her mouth to cool off, I feed her the fruits and veggies. It's the only thing that's worked so far. She's not happy about it, but she likes being outside, so we both win.
I used the super worm trick and it worked! Thanks for this video and you definitely just gained a like and a subscriber

Hey man! I finally got my temps right. I have a 50 watt and a 75 watt basking spots in his new enclosure. He’s about 5-6 months old and I’ve put greens in his bowl daily but he only eats a couple bites of the greens. Gonna try the “roll up” method!

I just got my first baby bearded dragon and I’m having such a hard time getting him to eat his veggies. I got him to eat ONE piece of lettuce but that was it. Today I’m going to the store to buy a variety of things for him. Wish me luck 😊
Lettuce isn't safe for them to eat. So is Spinach, Rhubarb, and Avocado.

Awesome video! I have a 1 yr old beardie who is SO picky with her food. She’ll even step in the bowl of veggies like it’s not there 😂. I took her to a vet recently and she’s perfectly healthy, but she won’t eat veggies, only bugs . Right now I only have one heat bulb in a 100 gallon tank - do you recommend I get another heat bulb to raise the temp a bit? I’ve also made purées for her with various veggies so it looks like bugs, she’ll only eat it off my finger, not in her bowl. So spoiled!! :D what do you recommend?
Mine wouldn’t eat any veggies till I tried yellow squash I’m think the yellow color makes him more interested in eating it

My bearded dragon stopped eating his salad a while ago, and I was giving him kale with carrot, and some other veggies. But after he came out of brumation last year he stopped eating it and doesn't want to eat salad even when I show it to him in my hands or in his feeding tongs. He does eat some veggies I give him but after eating a leaf or two he doesn't eat any more. He is 2 at the moment.

I just got a baby 2 days ago. Ate it’s bugs like a monster the first day, but doesn’t want to eat at all today save for a tiny piece of bell pepper. I know babies should have mostly insects to help them grow, but a tiny bit veggies should be also offered. My light is only hitting 90 and I just orders a hotter bulb. Think the temp is the issue?

You have a video on water? My bearded dragon looks dehydrated but it won’t drink water! I give him some by hand and I leave a water bowl. Any tips?
Census you can try soaking him. It can help hydrate and they tend to drink that way as well.

So for crickets, it has to be the size between the eyes, but would it be the same for veggies or can the veggies be bigger?

Hello, we JUST got a hatchling beardie. Its in a small 10g set up with a basic clamp lamp until tomorrow when I can get to the good pet store for the rest of our supplies. can you tell me what wattage bulb i should use for the basking area? What wattage CHE i need for ambient temp? I got the UV covered, i just dont want to have to buy a bunch of bulbs and keep returning them because they're too hot or cold. The room when the ac is on is around 69-71 degrees. During the day upstairs i wont need the CHE but when we come home and have the ac on, then I'd need it. I had a beardie years ago, but he was an adult and his viv was huge so I cant go by those wattages. Some help would be very much appreciated. Tyvm

So I have been struggling with getting my girl to eat veggies since I got her about six months ago. I adopted her from a woman who had her for four years and fed her nothing but crickets and mealworms (not dusted or gutloaded). I took her home and have had her checked by a vet who said she is obviously undernourished, but otherwise healthy. She gets 13 hours of light a day and gets dubias and superworms (as an occasional treat, its her favorite) but has not eaten a SINGLE veggie in my care. What I do for her veggie intake is I blend her veggies down into basically baby food, and force feed it through a syringe. Any advice for actually getting her to take whole veggies, or is my girl just too old and set in her ways? Thanks!

Can I get some advice please? My beardie is a rescue when I got her she had bluetac on her tail and viv that had melted with the heat lamp :( I go the bluetac off using a toothburst. She also has a claw missing and her tails wonkey the previous owner said one of the kids must of slammed it in the door!! I've only had a her a couple months we've got quite the bond she's very protactive of me 😂 and I am with her 😍 but she's always sluggish she'll have bursts of energy like once a month for a couple days and that's it :/ I don't get her out everyday could this be why? I nomally I just get her out when he scratches at the window and I sit next to her viv most days. She's my first reptile and I am just learning still! But I notice your beardies are so energetic and love there veggies she will hardly eat them and just wait for her live food I now give those once a week and some worms and veggies inbetween. Am I doing something wrong? Please don't judge after all at least I want to take care of her and she's in a forever home. I just don't get why she's always sluggish I bath her about 2X a week. Any advice I'd be ever so greatful! Going to try that work veg trick right now!! 😈❤
