I've stumbled upon this searching for information about the upcoming Project Hail Mary movie. Lucky me! This was a perfect interview with interesting, clever questions and brilliant answers. I love that we got to see the Excel sheet; I'd been wondering about this for a while. I don't know who you are, Planetary Society, but thank you! And thank you Andy, of course, for your open and detailed answers.

YES!! This book was my FAV when it came out... (was it 2021?) It was so good...the ending was so melancholy but hopeful...Loved it! I actually rank it higher than the Martian

Totally agree!! I didn’t expect that ending at all. It started sad (when they went there seperate ways) then a little better when Grace saved Rocky and then wow’d when I found out he was staying in Erid

Did anyone ever tell Andy he was wearing his t-shirt backwards? Not sure how he missed that getting dressed, maybe it was infant-induced sleep deprivation…. I noticed that early on in this interview & couldn’t stop seeing it.
