One of the best Mechanics on here. He always gives nice clear instructions and good quality video. It is a pity he did not do more videos. He would be well worth paying and he gives straight forward instructions and is very acceptable. Full Marks and well done for all that I have seen. Having been in the trade for 50 plus years it is a pleasure to see such a good man doing a good job.
One added tip. Wrap some cloth round the base of the master cylinder reservoir. When you push the brake cylinder pistons back in it may force some brake fluid out of the reservoir, and there's no better paint stripper than brake fluid. Don't get it on your bodywork, and if you do, wash it off immediately with soapy water.
Excellent video, and just what I was looking for. I am intending to replace the shoes on my Suzuki Wagon-R, which I think will be much the same. Particularly I was interested in the self adjusters and how to reset them. Only one thing, I think I will clean the crap out of the brakes before re-assembly with brake cleaner. I also did not know about the screw holes for extracting the drum, so that will save me a lot of head scratching.
Very good video. Learnt a lot. Thank you. Recently, when my mechanic opened the drum, we found that one pin that goes through the centre of the brakeshoe was missing. It comes at 3:02 in the above video. Was that dangerous? What could have happened? After placing a new pin and clip, the handbrake has become very efficient. It works within 3 clicks. Earlier, it used to take 5 clicks. Please let me have your views. Thank you.
how or what do i do if i got a little pin hole in the brake cylinder seal or cap whatever its called and can i replace it do i buy a new cylinder all together or can i buy just the little rubber seals and are they hard to replace
I have a suzuki swift 1.3ddis 2005 - are my rear brakes the same as these? Brilliant video by the way - I am not great at mechanics but I could follow your instructions easily. Thanks. Steve
Nice, clear video. Thanks. One question...when you loosen the handbrake cable, does the handbrake need to be off. Also do you have to do any resetting if the handbrake afterwards..
Hi, I did this job on my 2006 aerio (lania) but I forgot to remove the 10mm bolt for the hand brake cable, instead I detached the cable from the bracket it attaches to. I put it all back together properly, but now my hand brake is very loose. Is the best way to adjust it to go through the console near the brake lever inside the car like I have seen in other videos? Or is there a different way to do it. Thank you and great vid!
Unfortunately there's two variants of SX4 drum brake, first gen cars sold in the UK (made in Hungary I think) have a different adjuster mechanism which isn't as reliable as this and a bitch to set properly.
And use a completely different brake pad as I found out with my 2008 Grand Vitara... Oem part 53200 65J01 says its not for my car, even though it is literally whats installed

@@jonbertjustesen510 Thank you very much.
Nice vdo. Well explained.
Why didn’t you adjust the spring loaded adjuster so the clearance between the drum face and the shoe is the right distance
it will be self adjusted after first pedal press
Подскажите какие два болта которые используются для снятия барабана?
М8, в описании
I need further description on the bolt size. There's tons of different M8 bolts that are different mm sizes

К сожалению не будет. Если есть вопросы могу ответить.
можно всё ваше видео на русском языке о сузуки? Вы ведь на русском говорите!
Теперь будете озвучка на двух языках. Спасибо за Ваше внимание.
