If it were me I would have used ball hinges and interchangeable options similar to the way the figuarts frieza tail is. So the tentacles would articulate at the base. It would come with 4 supporting tentacles that are designed to have him be supported up like he is crawling on buildings or just standing around. 2 grabbing tentacles for choking spidey and 4 action tentacles flailing around. Tbh I always found the tentacles frustrating to pose due to the bendy wire being hard to make him stand up like his arms are raising him up at least for me.
@@thedukeofconway4209 I'm not gonna be grateful for a figure that has no playability in the place you'd expect it the most. Which is why I'm making my own custom tentacles.
@@DigitalRag3X In The Amazing Spider-Man #3 (July 1963), Spider-Man loses his first fight against Doctor Octopus. Spider-Man then thinks to himself, “What do I do now? I’ve never been beaten before!” Therefore, Doc Ock is considered the first villain to beat Spider-Man. Peter takes the loss so poorly that he contemplates giving up on being Spider-Man altogether, stating, “I’m a failure! Spider-Man is a joke…a nothing!” (Although he only thinks this way for like 3 pages before the human torch gives a big speech about how heroes never give up, which makes him realize he can’t give up on being Spider-Man just because he lost.)
I still hate this figure. The tentacles anyway. They made Mr fantastic bendable. Why not this guy? Edit: I would like to clarify that I like the new mold; it fits for doc oc. The only thing I hate is the arms.
Battle Frame Studios Hasbro is notorious for reusing molds, that’s why I don’t collect Marvel Legends, aside from the fact that I don’t collect 6 inch figures. Hasbro are lazy with the Marvel Legends figures, it’s EXTREMELY rare for any new body molds to come out.
Not bad figure but I think it would have looked cooler with darker green on his glasses and more movement in the tentacles plus from some of the picture's of Dr ock the tentacles came out of the side not the back
Anyone else ever had or still has that old Doc Oct figure from McDonalds? That was based on the cartoon series of the times of FOX Kids. That was my first Doc Oct figure. lol.
Yes, we finally have a modern version of the master planner! As a longtime reader of Spider-Man since the Silver Age, I’ve always considered Doctor Octopus to be Spider-Man’s nemesis! Green Goblin who?
Personally it’s been more back and forth for me, yet I feel as though his nemesis would be Osborn, for the complete lack of morality, the brutality, the mind-****ery, idk, but that’s my opinion lol
I LOVE the classic look of this figure. I just opened mine the other day and while I love it, I was disappointed that the tentacles are not bendable. Such a missed opportunity by Hasbro. Currently having a really hard time getting great poses I expected to get when I purchased him. Anyway, I still love the figure!
I’ve been really really excited to get this one, but that’s mostly because I thought the tentacles were bendable. The absolutely amazing body mold was going to be icing on this villainous cake, but the non-bendable tentacles is an definite deal breaker, unfortunately. :/
So, in the middle of watching this, literally about the middle of the video, I went and grabbed a 2004 Toybiz Doc Ock off ebay. Gotta have them bendy wire tentacles with pose-able claws.
Ya I think Mark would be a great choice for doc oc. Also heard he wanted to play a villain in the mcu and tried out for the vulture role so it seems like we have a great chance for him to play some one. Also I would have liked to see at least two articulation points on the arms. Just two like wrist joint like things
Daaaaamn!!! A well deserved return for Otto! Definitely the definitive figure for Doc Ock....if only he got bendy wires hehehe still a 9 out of 10! Great review as always.
my guess on going cheap with the lack of articulated tentacles is the pressure on the figure design teams to output a high amount of figures in such short time. This year was absolutely crazy with the amount of MLs released.
Wow I'm impressed, I'm a big Spidey Fan, and this Doc Ock might be my first Marvel Legens ever! I still need a Spiderman figure. Still waiting for a really good Hobogoblin and Green Goblin. and other Spidey villains!! Fantastic review Shartimus, I think you've convinced me to buy this figure when I never thought I would ever buy a Marvel Legends. I guess my only issues is his tentacles come out his sides in the comic but this figure has them coming out of his back, but I do realize having them come out his side is basically impossible on this figure.
... You know, it would probably be really easy to customize the tentacles to have the cuts like you mentioned. In fact, I may just do it when I get my figure.
I’m glad this is the only figure in this wave that doesn’t have a BAF piece because besides Doc Ock (and maybe comic Elektra but I’m not excited over her), I have no intention in buying this entire wave.
I'm thinking that you are right, that this body mold will be used for a Toad, and maybe even a Walgreens exclusive Mole Man. Not sure what other characters it could be used for though.... Volstagg is too tall for this mold....
Just got mine today. I have to go out and look for figs because I can't afford to order whole waves. Actually found 3 of the MCU 10th Anniversary box sets today also at Gamestop so I got lucky. I still like the bendy wire tentacles but hey you gotta take what you can get sometimes!!!
Wow, Noice review Shartimus! this Dock Ock Hasbro has made for us is really good. Just like most collectors out there, I'm also disappointed that this figure does not have bendy wires in the tentacles. I was hoping they would, but know all we need is for Hasbro to put out a Classic Adrian Toomes Vulture to complete my original Sinister-Six display!
I'm contented with this new Doc Ock, bigger and great articulation..even tempted to remove the glasse lol! Nevetheless im still keeping the old toybiz..still a great figure.GREAT REVIEW.Tnx
That pic with him up on his tentacles, #BOSS! Top three customs using that body ottomh; Red Ghost Barracuda (Punisher villain) Bullet (Daredevil villain) I'm sure I'll think of more. Like, I'd like to see if Brother Love's jacket from WWE will fit that torso... Jim Lee's Doc Ock was pretty dope too! My personal favorite look for the character
The tentacles droop after a day or two on my shelf. Why on earth are two of them posed bending almost backwards? The figure itself is great but the tentacles are a real let down.
Idc what the people say I am going to play with my toys today
EAW Animation23 agreeeed
Go for it!!!!
That’s what people gotta do
Agreed sir
Gotta get in on this action 😎 agreed.
The Doc Ock figure looks really cool but yeah I agree with everyone it would've been cool if we had bendy wires in those tentacles
Oh Sh*t - that last pose with him standing on the arms makes the figure look fricking awesome!
Imagine a toad figure with a interchangeable head that has a long tongue with a bendy wire
If they didn't bother giving Doc Ock bendy tentacles, what makes you think they'll give a damn about Toad?
I don’t need it
I don’t need it
I NEEEEEEEED IT
@@TheDUDERulez1 I mean they gave scorpion a bendable tail
How much u wanna bet that in a few years hasbro will release the same figure with bendy tentacles
kit Kat probably with slightly different paint aps
kit Kat probably vintage series
It's hasbro, of course they'd do that.
Maybe for sdcc or a different wave in sure they'll do it though
£30,000,000 pls
No BENDY WIRES!!!!??? They went backwards. I remember I had a spiderman 2 doc oc figure and it had bendy wires and articulated claws
Yeeea that's the best figure.I used to have that as well
I have that figure, i mean, i lost the lenses and his arm is broken, and 2 of the tentacles are broken too... but i have it so...
I have it still, but what the hell? No bendy wires?
Different company.
Yeah, I watched that 2 mins ago

Bendie wire no bendie at least we have a "not so bad" doc ock
Shartimus your channel is the only one I watch for action figures... these are the best
The photos at the end are awesone
Really not a fair comparision at all, but I love how the Latest Lego Doc Ock has more Tentacle articulation.
Just be grateful the body and mold is great

WHY DID YOU NOT COMPARE SUPERIOR SPIDER MAN AND DOC OCK TOGETHER. nice video
Watching this, one the same day it was revealed Steve Ditko died. Thanks Mr. Dikto for creating my favourite Spidey villain.
I love the fact that Doc Ock is the first villain to actually defeat Spider-Man
Kravens last hunt??? He beat tf up outta Spider-Man buried him, and when Spider-Man was stuck trying to fight off Vermin, kraven killed himself

maybe the vulture from spiderman homecoming looks good with these sinester six
Brad Von Esdras I think it would be the ultimate vulture from the two pack

We've come full circle now Shartimus. First review of yours I ever watched was your Toy Biz Marvel Legend Doc Ock from years ago lol
Life goes on and on and on and on and on and, on and on and on
I was waiting for him to say “if you want more shart in your face” 😂
Old school doc 👍🏾
Mark Hamill Should DEFINITELY play Doc Ock. Im begging for it now

Thats what she said...

That last pose is actually really cool looking
Love the yellow and green
YEEES!! , Finally!! Ive been waiting a lot for this :,v
Same. I actually liked this figure more than the toybiz version which suprises me
The pose at the end is perfection👌🏾

at the end when i saw the doc oc standing on the two tentacles, but then i saw the stand.
so i was like "yo thats coo-awww..... still cool tho"
Looks like an awesome figure. Definitely in my top 10 of the year and I don’t even have him yet😆 Can’t wait till he comes in the mail Tuesday!!
This wave is not available yet, but Shartimus has it. Conclusion: ShartimusPrime is a time lord!
Nice review! I just picked this Doc Ock up myself (several months ago) having missed it on initial release. Thankfully I got it at a decent price!

Oh man i had that old suction cupped figure too, so much fun!
Even though I’m 22 years old, I still love collecting Marvel Legends toys!
Im 15 and I play with my figures too.

Bought this online. I get it MONDAY!!!!! So,excited
I wish they would have made these tentacles a build a figure like the homecoming vulture wings. I still think they look good tho
For my sinister six I replace kraven,Mysterio, and sandman with venom, rhino, and green goblin
"This could be a Toad body!"
5 years later and it's only been used for frogman.
I loved the stop motion ❤
I unfortunately do not have this figure I do plan on getting it soon awesome review as always Shartimus Prime!
I taught I was the only one lol, he looks great need him too!

First person to make and sell good bendywire tentacles compatible with this figure is gonna make some money.
Where’d my tractor go dad
If you get a second Hasbro Ock, one gets the bendy wire tentacles and the other gets four of each pre-posed tentacle.
... You know, it would probably be really easy to customize the tentacles to have the cuts like you mentioned. In fact, I may just do it when I get my figure.
Love the doc ock but it really needs bendy wire
Very cool figure I m getting my Doc Ock on Friday to finish my Sinister 6 keep up the awesome figure reviews!!
Toad??? Or.... FROGMAN of the Ani-Men???
The best storyline for dock ock is superior Spider-Man. Also I remember being blown away by him in Spider-Man 2
Awesome Doc
9:57 what?! Shart i remember when you reviewed the vintage collection cap and ironman you said you dont have this dock ock anymore
Yo Shartimus, if you want you could easily add rotations to the arms. Cut where you want the swivel to be and put a pin in there.
The tentacles are a slight let down but there’s a mod that I’ll do when I get mine using 4 worm lights
I have a doc ock of Spider Man animation of 1995!
\o/
I wish he was more slim like in the cartoon still a unique skulpt

Hey man Nice video. this figure kinda blows my mind
With those glasses, I'd think a Moleman would be an obvious figure to be made from the mold.

You can use Rhino as a stand in until you get the Vulture.
Maaan I'm so pumped for this guy!! Wish my comic shop didnt get shafted of there legends. Always show up late!
i think if you cut every section of The tentacles and put a wire throughout them would make them articulated

customizing is possible

The best Spider-Man villain is obviously Venom in my opinion and eyes
He's not even a villian anymore. He's an anti hero. Him and spiderman made a truce too.
Battle Frame Studios I still call him a villain and another reason why is because I’m very excited for the venom movie that’s coming out
Battle Frame Studios and I sub to your channel
Nicholas Dondero Thanks. I'm almost at 300.
Battle Frame Studios same
Great review as always, Shartimus. Really like this new Doctor Octopus. Definitely going to pick him up. ✌.
i kinda like the spidrman 2 doc ock better for some reason. all you gotta do is paint the hands and feet yellow and paint the pants green
I still have my Alfred Molina Doc Ock from Spiderman 2. Sure did figures a lot better back then...
I'm a big fan of sandman
I am so getting this figure for Christmas!!!!!🎄🎅
wow dagger's costume just merges with the background.
LOVE YOU SHARTIMUS!
Nice action figure
That body mold would actually be good for an Earth X Spider man.
I’m on a budget right now.. Which figure is better? Marvel legends venom wave carnage or SP/DR wave Doc Ock?
DaveysActionFigs I think doc Oc but I’d like carnage as a character better then go for that they are both good
Carnage
Last time I was this early, SUD doesn't exist yet.
I'm waiting for this wave to come in the mail that I ordered
I got one and yeah it needs bendy arms, otherwise it's right out of my youth.
I love it
Wonder if you could port the claws out and add another tentacle
(Edit) like machine man's arms
As well as Toad, it could work for Frogman
