    Excellent video John! Incredible detail and clarity with both lenses. Obviously the 600 f4 has more pleasing, less distracting backgrounds but otherwise it was very hard for me to tell the difference. Good stuff!👏😍

      Thank you Bill. When I was processing the photos, I tried to use the same settings on each - copy paste. Using masks, you can blur the background more but that was not what i was going for. But you are correct. 🙏💖🤗

    Great pictures! Your videos are very inspiring and relaxing at the same time. As I am currently sick in bed and can’t get outside to shoot birds, your video helps to pass the time till I get better. I am still saving up for a 600mm f4 lens, but I am actually quite happy with my RF100-500 and my 1.4 TC.

      Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! The 100-500 with the 1.4 is AMAZING and so lightweight. You can get some of the older 600 F4 that are amazing still but they are heavy. Again, thank you so much. Get well as quick as you can!! 🙏💖🤗

    I have the 100-500 and the 200-800. I am impressed by the 200-800. The 100-500 does have a slight edge but the 200-800 is so versatile. If you put the 1.4x converter on the 100-500 then the loss in quality puts the two lenses basically equal and I would say the edge then goes to the 200-800 (tests done with R7). The comparison in this video done on the R3 with the lower megapixel may be a different outcome than on the R5 with bump in resolution. Would be interesting to see how that ef600 does there in comparison with the either 100-500 or 200-800.

      Thank you, thank you!! I have shot all of those and have videos using the different lenses but maybe not as a comparison so I may work on that. I think the perfect sweet spot for me for wildlife is about 800mm and that is where the 200-800 shines, but I only like it on a full frame body such as the R5 or R3. On the R7 my preference is the 100-500 with or without the 1.4 extender even though I lose the zoom that I rarely use. But that is just what I have found for my preference and other disagree with me. The 600 F4 II with the extender or without is amazing on either. Waiting for the RF VII to come out before I upgrade from the EF one!! But heck, I have been impressed with even the 100-400 - the new inexpensive lenses are just so amazing. 🙏🤗💖

    Nice comparison. Great combo. I'm still waiting for my 200-800.(order 12/21/23) I use my 100-500 and my 200-400 F4 w/1.4TC. Works well but thinking of trading it for the 600 F4. We'll see. Thanks again for putting enjoyable video together.

      Thank you for letting me share. I think there is no perfect set up and I keep searching LOL. I really do like the 100-50 with the 1.4 extender and if I only had that, I would be happy. When we start getting all the bugs flying around, that is what I will be shooting over these lenses all day long. And if I only had to chose one set up..... it would be the 100-500 with 1.4 extender. 🙏💖🤗

    Jonny, let's give credit where credit is due. You do a tremendous job with both lenses. I am really kind of in favor of the 200-800 with the R3 it can't be beat really. If the R3 had 45-50 mega pixels it would be insane. Of course it wouldn't be as fast. The egret with the fish was a great series. Thanks great video.

      Thank you, thank you!!! I do love the 600 F4 but it really does have limitations - weight, price, no zoom and that is where the 200-800 shines. I like the 200-800 on both the R5 and R3. As far as speed..... I do wish it had a bigger sensor.... like the Z8 or Z9, but it does everything I ask for and does it well. Plus, the smaller files sizes are a bonus too in many ways. 🙏💖🤗

      Agreed 100% My personal complaint is the placement of the focus ring - too far back. I was watching another on UA-cam who uses zoom complain about that as well. But over all.... a win win lens. 🙏💖🤗

    I’m using a monopod with these lens. You must be extra strong to hand hold them.

    • @JonnyPink65
      @JonnyPink65  4 місяці тому

      I think I have just gotten used to it. I do have my big tripod with the gimbal, but I find it limiting other than carrying it. I so much prefer the freedom of hand holding. However, when doing videos like this, I really can walk all that far - it just kill my shoulders. Ah...... limitations. 🙏💖🤗

    • @JonnyPink65
      @JonnyPink65  4 місяці тому +1

      Endless buffering is AWESOME - something I really like about the R5 and R3 over the R7. The other thing I prefer about the R3 is the dual processors so there is no rolling shutter. I had gotten so used to seeing it that I no longer noticed it....... until I went out during the week shooting the R7. Endless buffer (dont spell that word with two Gs in place of the F 🤣} is awesome. 🙏💖🤗

    Do you use the Canon three presets feature?

    • @JonnyPink65
      @JonnyPink65  4 місяці тому

      I have to admit, I am hot familiar with that. I have it set up pretty simply with one button for focus and the other for eye focus. I do switch from single point (my favorite) to a wide area here and there but that is about it. I know I use about 2% of what it is capable of doing. I am always in manual and only switch my setting - aperture, and shutter speed manually all the time. Most of the time, I shot is auto ISO. Same for video 🙏💖🤗
