basically the more things is to do and the less one is able to do at once, the more teamwork is required, a golden standard for me is Tribes 2, where you have huge variety of items, classes, armours, how fast tou can move, how much hp you have, lots of assets like deployable sensors, turrets etc, but as one player you can do just few things at once (and master your role). In squad the example of bad design is that everyone can revive or everyone is able to destroy enemy hab - that's why you can see more teamwork in PR - single player is just less capable. After lots of discussions about it it's really that dead simple.
I used to be so pro ICO until it didn’t change how people played at all. It made it like the golden era of Squad, but only for a week or two in my experience. We need to work on a player base overhaul. Instead of the tutorial teaching people how to shoot, run, and jump, it should be teaching people things like support by fire positions, how to bound and work with a team. We also need better map tools for leaders, and more power given to the commander so that competent players can give orders to ground units even when their squad leaders are incompetent or unreachable

Hopefully the rest will follow in future updates.
Yo Honcho, any chance you could link us those spreadsheets for the faction alliances and whatnot? Regardless, much love brother. Keep up the good work Quick edit because I'm an idiot, Just heard the part (after relistening) about you mentioning it being given to you by the squad devs. This comment is mostly void lmao
Ive been playin since 2017 and I want them to try something temporary to boost immersion. Make all 3 radio channels locally audible. So if an enemy SL is on the other side of a wall talking in command chat not only can his squadmates still hear him, you can too. But because they're different factions that speak different languages, they could distort the audio so you can't understand it, unless they introduce a soldier class that can interpret in which case that one player can hear it undistorted and relay whats being said.
Wish that spreadsheet was made public and added into the game, really a shame tho that seemingly blu vs blu isnt possible as neither its MIL vs INS anymore no MIL on manicougan either, but well all things that can change in the future and be expanded
Also they need to add vehicle kill stats for the classes like engineer, AT, etc. would be nice to know how many Vic’s you destroyed. Same with radios. Would make more fun. My favorite kit is dapper/engineer.
Hey its my honest oppinion and only mine at that but I perfred your older thumbnails than this new one, maby its just me but I thought id say. Also I love your videos!
Some pretty good changes. I would like to see implementations of factions and weapons from the Global Escalation mod as it has lots of different vehicles and weapons. would also love to see a cqc iraq map with the marines and insurgents.
When is it coming to the game though? 7.2 I mean. I saw the public test announcement but little to no info on how soon the update is coming to the main servers
Gonna be honest I don’t love that RAAS will be displaying squadlanes in game. A better option to fix the fact that squad lanes exists is to simply remove the name what layer is being played and change the points. Furthermore breaking into alliances and giving them different capabilities based on logistics armor etc is cool but it will inevitably be too confusing for the casual player to know what capability’s each faction, division, alliance and logistical features are usable this will limit the usage of multiple tows and multiple HABs etc. not to mention most folks already don’t know the different alliance advantages like less expensive HABs 2 HABs and buddy rally’s
Even if you don't know, the changes will still affect you because it means the available vehicles are going to be more varied than they were before and it isn't going to be symmetrical between the two teams anymore. Also, on the topic of squad lanes, I'm not sure many people would agree with less information than more. But even if they did, your proposal would do nothing, most maps only have one or two sets of lanes, you would just need to check the map in general on the site. Not to mention that plenty of people with enough hours don't need squadlanes because they have simply memorized the different points for each map... the benefit of squadlanes in the first place is that you can be on even footing with those who already know every map.
Guys what do you think about organising a comander and squad leaders before the map loads? Comanders could have 5 minuits to explain plans instead of 4 squads doing their own thing from the start?
what they really need to fix is the mounting mechianic need to make it more useable and add tippytoe and leveled postioning for better postion for players
Very good points. I have 3k in squad and ive stopped playing the past months. Devs gotta realize that a lot of the time you're not going to be in a super tactical squad/team and you need to be able to enjoy it as an fps as well. Three things, 1.Hip fire aim needs to be centre of on the screen, it should be intuitive like it was. 2. Red dots shouldnt blur the surroundings, they dont IRL. 3. Get rid of hab teleporting. You can only spawn at habs which you have been within 500 m from previously. Then you get rid of the benefit of SLs running around spamming habs and forcing the team to use vehicles to move.
It's not just the devs that need to realise that, it's a portion of the player base too. Some of the abuse I've had thrown at me from this video is hilarious. People thinking every match must be Min maxxed to the decimal point
i believe that the suppression should start initially with extreme blur but the longer you are suppressed the weaker the blur should become. Even to the point that the centre of your screen should stop being blurry and you get a small circle of focus in the middle so you can at a least aim and return fire if possible. I have been in many firefights were I know were I am lying down I am safe from the suppression fire overhead but the blur just keeps going and going... The effect should fade overtime and if you are running around the blur should stay high (as you are clearly paniced) but if you a lying down and being still then you are showing that you are calm under fire and therefore you shouldn't be as suppressed as much as someone who is running around trying to get to safety.
I just want them to make bipods more functional. I know its a big ask but man, breaks my immersion every time I'm spamming the bipod deploy on a rock or log or in a window sill just for it to be a glitchy mess.
I think these are some good changes. A step in the right direction. I do think the weapon sway after sprinting is a little much. Iv been in the army for 8 years and have handled multiple weapon systems. After sprinting, anyone in uniformed services should be trained enough to rapidly shoulder your weapon and get a sight picture. Now the swaying while fatigued Is accurate. But it's the amount of time that it takes to get a proper sight picture is just stupid That needs to be completely removed. Especially for the trained factions.
Wow this could be the best update in ages! I just think they could rework some balancing between factions. As a engie player it annoys me I can join some games and have the mines and c4 but others only one or the other. Also the SKS is just straight garbage these days, if i play as a medic I almost always go for the iron'd gun because the SKS scope is a mess
I got a feeling map voting is gonna be servers just playing the same factions over and over without variations, not that INS or MIL is played that often anyways
You sound like you just want to roll back the ICO subtlety. These small changes with the aiming are good but if you start messing with the suppression effects n everything else it’s just going backwards.
The Suppression effect in itself is fine, but there's a few small occasions your screen can be left fully blurred for over 30 seconds whilst nothing is shooting at you or anywhere near you and as a result its giving alot of People headaches That's the issue and I've been pointing that out since playtest #1 Just because I'm wanting to see bugs get fixed, or things get dialed and tuned in does not mean I want them removed.
Too lazy to get an X account to make this suggestion, so someone suggest it: In the stat screen there should be stat that shows how long players spend on the death timer. High deaths + low timer counts = someone wasting tickets.
Thats great and all, but along with bug fixes i really want to see optimised maps.Im fed up of going from 100 plus fps to 70 to 40 to 25 depending on the map and area of it. It kind of ruins it for me at the moment and i have a heavy rig too.
Happy about most the changes, but the whole exaggerated subfaction balance needs to go. Maybe would work for invasion, but ruins raas. The armor squads can fuck over the infantry squads with amphib logis and vice versa. Just need to have one faction, with variations to vic balance based off of map. I never want to see a btrdg or aav logi on goro or yeho. Even black coast and harju, amphib logis are useless except for being able to call cmd assets off of them
Please, for the love of god, just make point of aim point of impact for any digital/optical gunsights... I'm so sick if losing firefights because running 2 feet means my barrel and sight somehow become misaligned... also why is my stock not pressed against my shoulder? Sight alignment time is a little severely long.
When a modded gameplay is far better than current built. The ICO fractured this game. 80 year olds handling firearms and combat sorties. "Burn them all !"
ICO ruined squad oWI lost everyone's confidence after blatantly ignoring the community. We asked for changes after the ICO and got nothing but hate from everyone 😂 Now here they are sitting like "maybe it is too much" Bunch of tools
The guns now are so “realistic” that they even have more recoil than real life. And walking soldiers sway their guns more than drive by shooting gangsters.
The only issue who i have with SQUAD is the performance! Some games are quite nice with minimum issues , but others are very bad. I test quite a bit diferent scenarious and what i saw is this: Servers with more than 80+ players on 90% of the maps when the battle is in **middle** flags and most of the players are close to each other , the game start micro stutter and fps loss. Sometimes at extreme rates! When servers have 60 to 80 players max , the only present issue in same scenarious are the fps loss , but micro stutter gone! and servers with less than 60 players works flawleslly good! So ... lets not talk about hardware issues because i test various machines from POTATO to a beefy new PC with lates hardware. In all of them this point who i mention exist , its obvious the better hardware less noticible , but EXIST even on the HIGH end hardware! On potato its the worst option and its unplayable , but every range suffer with this 2 issues! This leads to the following ... the SQUAD game ENGINE have issues with more than 60 player or let say 64 (like good old standards for FPS game) , doesent metter your hardware , start suffer from micro stutter and fps loss. Or the DEVS did not know how to optimize it better or the engine have limits , idk . But the problem exist . And with the time its more noticible every patch. So bigger the game goes less FPS and more STUTTER we get! I hope one day the DEV team will DO A PROPER optimization and find the problem and FIX it. Because not the new content is what SQUAD NEED ... SQUAD needs to recover all this players who constantly loose last 2 years with the 0 real optimization patches! If this continue soon only people with HIGH end machines will play! And in 2 years even they will get the issues who i talk now , because NEW HARDWARE will mask the future updates of SQUAD for a bit and the curent top hardware will star to suffer. Is the only one game who is like this ... every patch ... passing the years its going worst and worst at performance. They need to adress this and think about a fixes. People will stop spending tousents every 2 years in hardware ..just to play SQUAD without significant issues....
Master and effects volume on 100%? Ohh boy ohh boooy! How??????? :D Im gonna lose my hearing with this game when IFV starts blasting near me or when any explosion happens!!!!!!!!!!
If they want to boost weapon sway then they should offer correct magnification for scopes. Seems they punish everyone to play CQB yet we play on large maps. Been playing since 2015-2016. The weapon sway by far the worst change.

Hopefully the rest will follow in future updates.
Wow, this is gonna be a frickin awesome update! Well done OWI!
can u link this spreadsheet? Memorising this will be awful job xd
Also im waiting for dual scopes to spice up close quaters fights
I will when I get 100% confirmation that I'm allowed too!
Yo Honcho, any chance you could link us those spreadsheets for the faction alliances and whatnot?
Regardless, much love brother. Keep up the good work
Quick edit because I'm an idiot,
Just heard the part (after relistening) about you mentioning it being given to you by the squad devs. This comment is mostly void lmao
I will when I get the green light
Great video by the way
Thank you!
Holy shit. its almost like the devs have listened to EVERYTHING I've been saying since the ICO dropped!
About time.
Do you have a discord or some where can see your graphics config pls 🤔
When is the update
Is the spreadsheet available anywhere?
Thank you! Will join soon.. after 4 years...
Militia and Insurgents should really be available in every biome
I think we will get Irregular equivalents for each Biome
Ive been playin since 2017 and I want them to try something temporary to boost immersion. Make all 3 radio channels locally audible. So if an enemy SL is on the other side of a wall talking in command chat not only can his squadmates still hear him, you can too. But because they're different factions that speak different languages, they could distort the audio so you can't understand it, unless they introduce a soldier class that can interpret in which case that one player can hear it undistorted and relay whats being said.
Problem with this is that some people will switch to discord or similar and get an edge
Wish that spreadsheet was made public and added into the game, really a shame tho that seemingly blu vs blu isnt possible as neither its MIL vs INS anymore no MIL on manicougan either, but well all things that can change in the future and be expanded
I think a public version will be available when it's finished mate
epik update. very noice
Epik indeed
Thanks Honcho.
Thanks for the feedback bud.
I always felt like my older ones were too similar to other people so doing what I can to stand out
@@A_Honcho Cool Keep doing what your doing, no hard feelings
I'm part of the 13.2% hell yeah
💪
Some pretty good changes. I would like to see implementations of factions and weapons from the Global Escalation mod as it has lots of different vehicles and weapons. would also love to see a cqc iraq map with the marines and insurgents.
This is going to be interesting
Very!
Yessss , ill run the gl kit once more for isa, i stayed away from it bc how bad that 4x sway was, every thing else was alr to me
When is it coming to the game though? 7.2 I mean. I saw the public test announcement but little to no info on how soon the update is coming to the main servers
No idea on a date right now, but my guess would be some time in March hopefully
the sight changes look way better
Certainly a step in the right direction!
@@A_Honcho thank you for making these update videos, helps explain the changes a lot easier
i think i'll go back to squad, that playtest looks interesting
i hope they put this in the game soon
Me too!
mind posting that google doc?
Guys, make sure you are subscribed to channel, Bro tries to make you and a game to stay in touch
Thank you!
I still publicly shame people for using squad Lanes.
I wish RAAS was literally Random and not just AAS with fog of war on it
Even if you don't know, the changes will still affect you because it means the available vehicles are going to be more varied than they were before and it isn't going to be symmetrical between the two teams anymore.
Would be a great feature for Experienced / comp servers. But most general pub servers half the people who SL only do it because no one else will
what they really need to fix is the mounting mechianic need to make it more useable and add tippytoe and leveled postioning for better postion for players
Very good points. I have 3k in squad and ive stopped playing the past months. Devs gotta realize that a lot of the time you're not going to be in a super tactical squad/team and you need to be able to enjoy it as an fps as well. Three things,
1.Hip fire aim needs to be centre of on the screen, it should be intuitive like it was.
The effect should fade overtime and if you are running around the blur should stay high (as you are clearly paniced) but if you a lying down and being still then you are showing that you are calm under fire and therefore you shouldn't be as suppressed as much as someone who is running around trying to get to safety.
i think its in a much better spot. iron sights were way overturned in the original ico.
I just want them to make bipods more functional. I know its a big ask but man, breaks my immersion every time I'm spamming the bipod deploy on a rock or log or in a window sill just for it to be a glitchy mess.
Bipods needs a complete overhaul. Sick of seeing people spin like a fidget spinner
Squad multiplayer campaign would be amazing
I think these are some good changes. A step in the right direction. I do think the weapon sway after sprinting is a little much. Iv been in the army for 8 years and have handled multiple weapon systems. After sprinting, anyone in uniformed services should be trained enough to rapidly shoulder your weapon and get a sight picture. Now the swaying while fatigued Is accurate. But it's the amount of time that it takes to get a proper sight picture is just stupid That needs to be completely removed. Especially for the trained factions.
Where did you get this sheet?
I am interested in what PLAAGF is, is it a new subfaction ?
PLAAGF is already in game it's the PLANMC vics with the gray camouflage
Wow this could be the best update in ages! I just think they could rework some balancing between factions. As a engie player it annoys me I can join some games and have the mines and c4 but others only one or the other. Also the SKS is just straight garbage these days, if i play as a medic I almost always go for the iron'd gun because the SKS scope is a mess
SKS scoped is much nicer in 7.2 - pre ico it was my absolute go too
Honestly looks great, however i think every faction should be able to fight anywhere, just gets rid of diversity
This may happen in the future or with mods, but right now I think half of it is down to certain factions lack of Camo
Is there anyway for us plebs to access these datasheets shown from 3:12 - 6:02?
when would this update come to the main game
I don't know yet but when I do know I'll be sure to tell everyone
I wish they add some audio options such a squad chat volume and command volume...
They are already in game
I got a feeling map voting is gonna be servers just playing the same factions over and over without variations, not that INS or MIL is played that often anyways
When are we getting this?
When would you like it?
@@A_Honcho Yesterday 😆
You sound like you just want to roll back the ICO subtlety. These small changes with the aiming are good but if you start messing with the suppression effects n everything else it’s just going backwards.
The Suppression effect in itself is fine, but there's a few small occasions your screen can be left fully blurred for over 30 seconds whilst nothing is shooting at you or anywhere near you and as a result its giving alot of People headaches That's the issue and I've been pointing that out since playtest #1
Just because I'm wanting to see bugs get fixed, or things get dialed and tuned in does not mean I want them removed.
Too lazy to get an X account to make this suggestion, so someone suggest it:
In the stat screen there should be stat that shows how long players spend on the death timer. High deaths + low timer counts = someone wasting tickets.
When will seven point two drop
I don't know just yet but I'll be sure to let you all know as soon as I find out
@@A_Honcho thanks 👌🏻
Still trying to fix all the crashes ): After a few 100 hours I suddenly started crashing after playing a match for 5 min every time
Thats great and all, but along with bug fixes i really want to see optimised maps.Im fed up of going from 100 plus fps to 70 to 40 to 25 depending on the map and area of it.
It kind of ruins it for me at the moment and i have a heavy rig too.
A diferent team will be working on Optimisaiton but I 100% agree - Optimisation needs to be a HUGE focus in 2024
the holding shift isnt new lol if you hold shift right now it stabilizes your aim more thats been in squad for a LONG time lol
Yes but in 7.2 it reduces your sensitivity. There's a slider you can adjust to make it more or less sensitive.
@@A_Honcho oo make sense thanks for the clarification
Happy about most the changes, but the whole exaggerated subfaction balance needs to go. Maybe would work for invasion, but ruins raas. The armor squads can fuck over the infantry squads with amphib logis and vice versa.
Just need to have one faction, with variations to vic balance based off of map. I never want to see a btrdg or aav logi on goro or yeho. Even black coast and harju, amphib logis are useless except for being able to call cmd assets off of them
So long as server owners are sensible with the choices set in the voting, things will be fine
Curious if everyone is just going to pick tanks every time
Please, for the love of god, just make point of aim point of impact for any digital/optical gunsights... I'm so sick if losing firefights because running 2 feet means my barrel and sight somehow become misaligned... also why is my stock not pressed against my shoulder? Sight alignment time is a little severely long.
Ive never heard of PLAAGF faction before. Does anyone know what it is and what it stands for?
It's the Amphibious ground forces, IE the amphibious units of the PLA/When you were playing with the Marine Corp vehicles but had the standard camo.
Basically Marines but not Blue 😂
What they need to fix is the vehicles
When a modded gameplay is far better than current built. The ICO fractured this game. 80 year olds handling firearms and combat sorties. "Burn them all !"
next more players per server like 110 or 120 players caps pleas and litlebit more stamina for you or it drains slower please.
Yes!
ICO ruined squad
oWI lost everyone's confidence after blatantly ignoring the community.
We asked for changes after the ICO and got nothing but hate from everyone 😂
Now here they are sitting like "maybe it is too much"
Bunch of tools
The guns now are so “realistic” that they even have more recoil than real life. And walking soldiers sway their guns more than drive by shooting gangsters.
and these youtubers cannot make up their mind
So are we not talking about how PLA has another sub faction?
They've been in since last year, it's just PLA marines but not blue.
@@A_Honcho Wait they always existed?!?
They need to dump Epic Online Services and Tencent ASAP.
The only issue who i have with SQUAD is the performance! Some games are quite nice with minimum issues , but others are very bad. I test quite a bit diferent scenarious and what i saw is this:
Servers with more than 80+ players on 90% of the maps when the battle is in **middle** flags and most of the players are close to each other , the game start micro stutter and fps loss.
How??????? :D
Im gonna lose my hearing with this game when IFV starts blasting near me or when any explosion happens!!!!!!!!!!
If they want to boost weapon sway then they should offer correct magnification for scopes. Seems they punish everyone to play CQB yet we play on large maps. Been playing since 2015-2016. The weapon sway by far the worst change.
isnt that what ICO haters have been saying all time long and now ex ICO lovers are like "had that opinion as well"
they still didnt add DAMN GLOVES TO TLF
This is the stuff to bring back OG squad players. I feel like the ICO update made peeps leave and brought peeps back. Most the good squad leaders left I feel like bc I’m always telling peeps to work together when ever I play now lol. This is helping bridge the gap between the 2 versions we have all played and loved. I can’t wait!
