I have cooper at/w that have maybe 20000 miles, they are worn to the point where I am not confident running them another winter, and they cracked between tread blocks first winter. They are p rated and it gets extremely cold here (-35°c ambient) so maybe that is a factor. One work truck I drove they ran Michelin xds2 245/75r19.5 steers and drives and they were fantastic in winter, but steers wouldn't last a full year. They would have to put last year's used drives on the steer to make it to October.

Michelin is the WORST in long term ownerships. Those side walls cracks in no time. But pretty good traction.

The Michelin m/s is almost as good as a winter tire in the snow and ice. I think they don't do well with heavier trucks. I have a set on my 4Runner and they currently have about 135k with around 50/50 hwy and city driving. But we are easy with our driving...

Interested to learn more about the Sailun tires. I am on a budget and I need to buy tires for my 2000 f350 4x4 7.3 cab and chassis service bed truck. I just put some on my gmc 3500 van. I guess they are ok? They seem to be better now with some miles on them. Bought them 4 months ago. Very stiff. 16 inch 10 ply. Maybe my steering sector is bad. My van has 200k on it. - anyways...I don’t understand why sailun and simple tire on eBay can’t explain whether the tires are E rated or not? Needing 235/85/16 e rated tires.

We've really liked the transforce for 3 season road rigs, they are wearing great and for the winter we've used Ko2s as well AS Grabber atx and love them both. Had the same experience with the Michelin, they ride good and give good mileage on the highway but no matter how often you rotate and align the trucks we had similar wear patterns. Not worth the price imo.

Whenever a "sales guy" is super pushing a tire and promoting it etc is when they are getting bonuses or "spiffs" on those particular units.. That's just the truth.. Never trust the salesmen... ALWAYS do your OWN research...

I used to sell tires. I was a tire pro actually. I had many repeat customers and I sold to huge fleets. I pushed tires based on my experience experience and my hours of reading trade magazines, talking to random people at gas stations, talking to fleet managers. I could knock truckers for driving unsafe and tailgating but thats only a percentage of them.
Spiffs are nice but frankly repeat customers and word of mouth is where its at.

HEY MAN - stop talking shit about american made tires. Ice has different friction coefficients so you can't compare easly and its also about the stronger chemistry in the XLT and the fact that your drivers do not deflate between asphalt and snow/ice - its critical for Coopers to do that to get that wow effect. If you want Ice... you should have got 4S - ua-cam.com/video/5pliLbJFyek/v-deo.html

I have 25 dedicated years and counting in the military so don’t come here with your closed minded BS and shallow patriotism. As long as a product is good and exceeds my purchasing expectations then I can give two shits about where it is from. You don’t dictate shit here!

    • @sonictech1000
      @sonictech1000 5 років тому +3

The problem with Chinese tires, or products in general isn't that they're all bad, it's that it's difficult to know what you're buying and if there is any kind of quality control.
A few years ago I bought a used truck with Chinese "Pegasus" branded tires. It turned out that my tires were likely counterfeit. Apparently someone got ahold of the "Pegasus" molds and was producing substandard tires with them.

I had Michelin all seasons premium top of the line (PREMIER MXV4) passager tires proudly made in CANADA.
      Haha!
Great famous performance with a big famous name.
      It actually drives pretty good.
      Everything went south👎👇
In only 3 1/2 years dry rots with only about several hundreds of fine cracks lines on all sidewalls of all 4 tires smiling at me.
Brought it back to COSTCO with its famous posted black and white powerful warranty behind their beans counter.
They blamed me for all the dry rots and all the sidewalls cracks. With a big no no instore warranty claim or adjustment.
They asked me a double edged sword question of " Do you use tire shine or not?"
      Guess what ?
      I said " YES".
He replied back " You shouldn't be supposed to use any tire shine or rubber preservatives products ."
They give me Michelin's own representatives toll free number to deal with me.
The Michelin Co. representative tells me to go to one of their independent privately owned tire shop near me to get another evaluation.
Guess what? The same tire dressing question?
He ask me do I use any tire shine products again.
      I quickly realized it's a double-edged sword question.
If you use tire dressing products, it means you are using chemicals are a no-no for the Michelin tires.
If you said you don't use tire dressing products, which means you don't take care of your tires.
It ends up another no and forfeit warranty claim.
Then the Michelin tire rep, give me another tire shop located much farther away from this location for me to get another evaluation for warranty claim.
I realize this is just another RUNABOUT GAME Michelin played to F#*k me up to get rid of me from warranty claim.
No warranty claim on a 5 years FAMOUS Warranty.
I will never look at MICHELIN tires again after this HALL OF SHAME GAME 🎮 they played on consumers like me.
