Reminds me of my 16th birthday last time I seen Slade Live.
Best Concert in my life ever. The stadium concerts of today just dont match a dark theatre with idiots hanging from the Gods and Noddy crown surfing.
    Those were the days.

Back in 1974, when my parents were telling me to go to bed, a tape recorder was turned on in the next apartment and I was listening to the Slade band. Listened and fell asleep! So, in the USSR I fell in love with rock music.

    Slade were fucking good!
I was priviledged indeed to see them live - but on a big stage. I'm very jealous of my big Sister, though. Being a few years older she used to go and see them regularly in the early days when they had a Saturday night residency at the Connaught Hotel in Wolverhampton.
200 fans in a cramped basement club - Oh happy days!
I asked her recently how well she remembered hearing them.
She said very well, but you didn't really hear them, you more... FELT them! ;-)

Real rock and roll. Listen to that voice and that rhythm and those lyrics. Get down and get with it, my my, yeah yeah, it's all right. I mean really, what more do you need in a rock and roll song? It's all here, delivered with killer showmanship. Most awesome.

Before Slade, people went to gigs and sat on the floor to watch the band. Slade get everybody up and rockin' out.
An awesome band. I was lucky enough to see them live 3 times, the first time back in 1974. Even all these years later, they are still one of the finest live bands I've ever seen.

+greenstatus2007 That's because it was being filmed. At any televised recording, the audience are told to stay in their seats. If you'd have seen Slade at a normal concert venue, be it a club, theatre or festival, the crowd were always up on their feet.

I was or actually we were big fans of slade in school in mid 70s . Now when I hear it I think of wood smoke, Smoke and beer from keggers at lake Michigan. Simpler times I do miss.
