Blessings from Chicago. I am so blessed that the farmers bring beets with those lovely greens to the farmers markets. I pickle the greens, cook them and make kimchi. They sautee as fast as spinach.❤❤❤
Your garden looks amazing. I used to hose down my beets on the lawn to get most of the dirt off before bringing in the house. I love pickled beets and haven't made them recently because of the sugar. I'm not a fan of Stevia though so will likely try with Allulose. It doesn't crystallize once it cools like an erythritol/monk fruit blend does. Thanks for the video, brought back lots of memories.
Thanks so much for your video, it's simply the Bestest most informative direct to the point with complete instructions on how to Pickle My Beets first time out! 😊👍 ...and I've seen over 20 videos, so Kudos to you! 😍🎯
I wish I had bought this type jars that don't have the rubber seal but am definitely going to have a try at your recipe. I like the idea of using the beetroot water with some vinegar whereas all the recipes in the UK just use vinegar and so many spices that it always ends up inedibly strong in flavour. Lovely video presentation, thank you. Subscribing.
This video was very descriptive & helpful! I grew the same cylndra beets & need to can them this weekend. What are your thoughts on using honey as the sweetener?
have never canned beets before and looking for recipe without sugar. I have purchased them before in the store but don't remember them having sugar in them. Can we leave sugar or Stevia out completely and they will still be safe to can?
@@ourcountryfarmhouse Thanks, I went ahead and canned with the sugar. I for some reason was thinking the canned in the store didn't have sugar. Thanks for the response. Appreciate it
As long as the eggs are boiled I don’t see why you couldn’t add them. I personally don’t like boiled eggs and onions so I’ve never tried it… I’d love for you to let me know how you like your beets when you try the recipe! Enjoy!!
@@ourcountryfarmhouse I just as I got older have enjoyed the taste of pickled beets, on salad and side dish, even with sandwiches if no pickles are around. But growing up Mom uses to make refrig pickle beets will onions and eggs I enjoyed together.... So I was just asking about different ways.. thanks for answering back 👍
I like my beets washed outside so I don't have drain problems. Every time I pressure can it goes over the pressure and takes the color out. Ugh. I should not pressure can them. Next year not pressure canning. I can't tolerate that sweetener.
Is this the first time you have used stevia or have you done it in the past? I tried using monk fruit in my cowboy jalapeños and it crystallized. Just wondering if that happened to you?
No that’s never happened to me… honestly you cannot tell the difference between the ones I made with sugar vs Stevia. However there are different brands of Stevia and some are better than others. 💛
That happened to me making a zuchinni relish. I ended up heating it before we ate it. I made this recipe using Voluntary brand sweetener. Its erythritol and monk fruit mixture. I put 1 jar in the refrigerator and after 1 week I was thinking it did not taste good. I left it to sit for a full 4 weeks and they turned out amazing. Making another batch today
Very nice presentation with great photography
Thank You 🤎
Loved the idea of sterilization the jar in the over. Never thought of that
Thank you 👍 it’s a nice and easy way 🙂
Thank you. Learning later in life, but so happy to be able to do this myself!
You’re welcome! Congratulations on learning, even if it is later in life! Way to go!

Thank you so much!! That means a lot! I hope you enjoy your beets ❤️
Beautiful beet. Thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing your video and tutorial. Just curious if you have anything in the bottom of the pot that the jars are sitting on. Thank you.
@Rebeccadees2300 you're welcome! ❤ Yes I have a canning rack in the bottom. One like this amzn.to/3Gjsyij
Beautiful soil, especially for root crops.
Thank you!

Thanks it's so quick
I like the way it done

I’m glad the video was helpful! I’ve never used honey as a sweetener in beets but I would think that you would be okay doing so.
@@ourcountryfarmhouse Thank you I didn't get to them this weekend but plan on doing a batch tonight!
@@mandysmidwestexistence oh I know how life gets busy… would love to hear how it goes with using honey for the sweetener.
@@ourcountryfarmhouse I will let you know for sure! :)
Looks good!
Thank you 🤍
Thanks so much. Only caveat...I'd advise wearing plastic gloves just to save your hands from turning red! Learned that the hard way over time.

@bc24roxy Sure you can totally leave out the sugar/stevia, the only difference will be that they won’t be sweetened. Best of luck!

What type of beets did you plant? They are long
The long ones are Cylindra Beets
Can you add eggs and onions and still preserve like you did?

Beets are naturally sweet. You don’t need sugar or any sweetener. Just saying. Your beets look good tho.
Bleach will get the red stain out
