The fact that this fight happened a couple years ago and neither have still yet to claim the lightweight belt just shows how talented the lightweight division is.

Dariush is very very good and super well rounded. His problem have always been heavy hitters, and gamrot is not. Dariush is a very good on the ground and a tricky and powerful stricker
Dariush have a crystal jaw, really good fighter but almost all the top 10 lightweights have KO power so it always going to be a hot take when he fight.
@JayDee-w3d Dariush is very skilled and well rounded but doesn't have a chin and as he's gotten older his lower reaction time and speed has led to him getting caught bad in his last 2, and that'll probably continue. Gamrot isn't a power puncher though so I dunno if a rematch would end with Benny getting zero'd again.

Gamrot fought well, but I still have to give 1, 2, and 4 to Armon. Tsarukyan should’ve stopped wrestling after noticing their grappling’s canceling out. Gamrot had better boxing, but if Armon set up his kicks that should leverage out. Badass fight though! 👊

Tsarukyan won on damage. The takedowns by Gamrot almost always resulted in zero damage.
Arman's face was red, breathing heavy, he was completely out-cardioed by Gamrot. Damage doesn't mean some flashy kicks or hooks, exhausting your opponent is also damage

Crazy how Gamrot went from this to fighting an old RDA and now 11th ranked Dan Hooker who’s out of his prime. I respect Gamrot’s desire to stay active but he needs to fight someone like Justin, Charles or a better contender if he wants to be in the title picture. That ‘win’ against Fiziev wasn’t great Ngl.

This is what I thought/still think the future of the highest level of MMA can be like. Two fighters, so well rounded, that either standing or ground can/will be neutralized. Heart, cardio and pure will power become ultimate equalizers. One mistake can end it all. High pressure, high stakes and high technique at all levels.

Look at their faces. Arman took more damage in that aspect. Gamrot got dropped but didn’t react much. Most significant strikes from tsarukyan weren’t huge and spread out so not 1 area was damaged. Gamrot controlled the grappling and took the back several times along with him pushing the pace in the last 2 rounds. Round 3 is close but I give it slightly to gamrot

Arman won. The scoring criteria is damage. Not control. Arman could have won 5-0, 4-1 or 3-2. Gamrot does not have a case to win.

@@Jacob23615 Are you trying to tell me that judges pay zero attention to control time and that it doesn't matter at all? The main priority for judges in determining the winner is overall dominance, and Arman didn't do enough damage to Gamrot to say he dominated him. Gamrot was simply better in that fight because he dominated on the ground, had more successful takedowns, and more control time. He also landed more shots to the head, while Arman mostly caused damage with his kicks, which didn’t seem to faze Gamrot. This was a fight between two wrestlers, and it clearly showed that Gamrot is the better one.
I had it 50-45 for Arman. Thought he landed the more damaging strikes on the feet, got a couple knockdowns in rounds 4&5 and when he did have Gamrot on the ground he threatened submissions like in round 1.
Fights like these should really be considered a draw because nobody got broken

2-0 Tsarukyan so far. Unless Gamrot wins the next 3 rounds, Arman should have won.
edit: Arman wins round 3... this fight was indeed a robbery. Gamrot had that moment of position on Armans back and was awarded 2 takedowns but he did nothing with them, no strikes or submission attempts were made with such position. Arman landed many heavy kicks and punches, he had the more effective output in round 3. 3-0 Arman after Round 3.
edit 2: Gamrots best round is R4 but even then Arman outstrikes him by a large margin.
edit 3: Arman again lands more strikes and better strikes in R5 and reverses throwing strikes to the body at the horn.
Tsarukyan could have won this 4-1 even 5-0.

I’m Armenian and I cheer for Tsarukyan. And it is for situations/outcomes like this that I want the fight to be won by a knockout or a submission. When it’s this close and it’s won by points, I’m sure people are always going to have second thoughts and challenges to the decision (mostly the fans of the losing side). That’s completely understandable, which is why a knockout or a submission is the best finish to fights like this.

Amazing fight and love Gamrot, but I think on damage Tsarukyan won
Arman physically stronger both legs and arms. I think obviously better kicks and punches but in wrestling technically worse. Gamrot could attack to take his back but had not enough strength against opponent like Arman to use this position and finish him. Arman didn't lose.
