Your video was the reason I had the confidence to buy this product. I have a fifth wheel that is 2 inches nose high and wanted to flatten it out but it felt like an intimidating project until I watched your video. Thanks for posting!
Hey Kyle, I ended up paying someone to do it… haha, but a year and 5,000+ miles later I am very glad we did it. The ride is night and day different and it moved nearly 1,000 pounds from the rear axle to the front and pin.
Just curious but, why can’t you just flip the axle to the top of the leaf springs without a lift kit (like all the others’ I’ve seen on UA-cam)? Does it just give it a little more lift/height?
@@artest7 because the axle actually aren’t perfectly straight, they have a slight downward curve, ( you could easily look up a picture) besides that, the mounting point of which holds them to the leaf springs would need to be cut off and re-welded as well. This kit requires none of that,
Unless your instructions show you installing the extension/alignment plates that way I think you put them on backwards. I just bought a Lippert 2" lift kit for my tandem axles and it shows those drop brackets with the curve facing away from the stock spring hangers. Yours are installed wrapping around the stock hangers and they should be flat side back against the stock hangers. Those curves potentially holding the new plates away from the stock hangers are probably what is causing the bolts to not be long enough to reach the nylon portion of the lock nut and could potentially leave some slack between the spring bushing and the extension plates. This is hard to explain. I hope you understand what I'm saying. Great informative video. Here's an image of what I'm trying to explain. images.app.goo.gl/Ukn5mGJVRCGgqHYn6
xplmr1 yeah I understand what you mean.. they are installed correctly according to the directions, I’ve double and triple checked this, the kit sent all one size, 2 out of the 4 bolts were supposed to be an inch longer ,I have since replaced with the correct length bolts, I do like how the lippert set up has a setup similar to an automotive style alignment. If I were to do this again, I’d certainly go with that route! Saving a few bucks wasn’t worth the headache lol
I went to a D load range tire, same size for now..The lift kit was worth it in my opinion, I haven’t noticed abnormal tire wear so far, I’ll be making an update video explaining a few slight issues I addressed after installation, but it does what it’s supposed to and personally I love the added height visually! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
@@LostTravels Thanks, look forward to that video. We're interested in this model, although we actually have not yet been in one (Covid has made the RV world topsy turvy). It looks like from the Jayco web site, they are going with 14 inch tires on this 145rb model now. Not sure the load range, or if the axle or leaf springs have changed from yours...

Appreciate your comment! Glad it helped you in your decision! Safe travels!
Nick - How did your install go and the results?

@@nickstorbakken9402 how much did you end up paying to have it installed? If you don't mind me asking
Good video, a little concerned about how far the jack stands are extended. Looks fairly unstable.
Good stuff. I need to lift mine. Bigger tires would help clearance too. Do you happen to have a before and after?

Good video, explains it well !! What size tires did you end up going with ? and how is the lift kit working out for you ? Did it correct the problem ?
