Matthew, I challenge you to make an easy-to-use roll-goods dispense center for the kitchen. It should hang over the inside of the pantry door, so it must be slim. Able to neatly dispense 4 rolls: a roll each of wax paper, foil, parchment paper, and plastic wrap.
Of all the Creators I enjoy, I think this is uniquely in your wheelhouse.

Up in Canada, we have a “Life” cereal brand. My son calls them “Shreddies-Lite”. Perfect timing for this project. My wife has gotten very tired of seeing the ugly plastic container I put our garden hose in.

Great video and idea. On the door there are no screws and this is obvious and makes that area stand out. Might I suggest for the doors cutting screws short so they will just go a very small depth. This way all sides show screws and match.

Would you suggest maybe putting a pan under the plant where the slats are and have a drain hole on the back somewhere so the water hose doesn’t get muddy water on it from the plant above? Fruity Pebbles was my favorite cereal! Yabba Dabba Doo

Love Your videos Matthew. I would definitely include a hole in the back to allow the planter to be set next to the house spigot and the hose kept attached to it. 😃 My favorite cereal varied. But yes, Life cereal which yes Mikey was the one they used to get kids to eat it because " he hates everything". You should also try Cinnamon Life, but for me there's not enough Cinnamon

If you were to build a plant repotting station for a person you love...what would be a cool way to be able to hold soil and be able to rotate the pot for trimming and filling while having the ability to maybe tuck that away ,or not always being obtuse to a small area? Matt, Great video. I have a suggestion though. I have used those size magnets for making bottle openers, and I used ca glue to attach them to the opener. Unfortunately sometimes the ca glue doesn’t always hold the magnets in place the way I wanted it to. I ended up switching to 5 minute epoxy, which held the magnets on the wood better after the epoxy cured.

Thanks for the video! Love seeing build videos from my favorite makers! This one is definitely one I may have to try! As for the cereal, my favorites definitely varied, but the truth is I liked all of them way too much! 😂 Made me think of another funny quirk…I don’t know if it was a family thing or what, but I realized later in life most people would buy Frosted Flakes or Honey Nut Cheerios…not us! We bought plain corn flakes or plain cheerios and added way too much straight up sugar to them!!! No wonder I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life! 😅 (Well, that combined with my parents well-intentioned but horrible “finish your plate” mentality. My dad wouldn’t even let us pour out leftover milk from cereal. Had to finish it…along with the piles of wet sugar at the bottom… 🤦🏻‍♂️)

Love this idea Matthew. I like Life Cereal to this day. My favorite cereal to get a toy in as a kid was Captn Crunch. My mom would get so mad because I would empty box on table to get prize. Did you do that. I have just recently bought my first set of plans to build my wife an herb garden on the front porch. It is your 3 tier single side planter. I’ll tell you what, your plans are top notch and show and explain every detail. I’ll be buying some more plans for sure. YES!! Build cornhole games for kids at the ‘family picnic’!! ❤ 🎉
Our family has a ‘mini’ reunion every year for the 4th of July. Lots of swimming, swinging, sassy~ing, crying bc they can’t keep up with the adults yet. I suggested cornhole for the kids, however, that was 5 years ago. I’ve tried making some two times… I’m missing something along the way bc everything was torqued really odd, then winter set in and I went into hibernation mode. I recently woke up and have been eating everything in sight!! So I would LOVE a little help! 👍🏼😉🙋🏼‍♀️🫶🏻❤

I like the idea, and it will probably convince people that it's a good solution to a problem that will make their life easier. However, when I look at that, I wonder how am I going to take it out and put it back easily and neatly? Can you build one with a rod and crank on the side? It can't cost too much I would think but I'll probably look into it myself in a moment! lol

Your idea was very timely, just when I was thinking I needed new hoses and wanted a way to protect them. I live in Arizona and the summer sun is brutal. I don't own a table saw so, mine will have to be square. You have to work with what you have. It won't look as nice as yours, but will serve the purpose. I am a woman and quickly closing in on age 78, but can't wait to try my hand at these - I need at least three. Use of magnets was genius. Love your inspirations. Love your channel. Reba

Do you plane or sand these boards smooth? I cannot find any pickets that are smooth.
Also what do you line these with? I've seen people say both polypropylene liner and weed guard fabric.

Nice that leaving the shipping strap on the hose! WHO in their pea pickin' mind is going to try to coil that snake back in there?

I agree. I've seen some where the planter portion lifts off leaving an open top compartment, which should make it easy to coil the hose back up.

Quick question: I've heard you say before to finish your pieces prior to assembly. Just want to know why and what to do about any glue squeezeout and marring from assembly?

Is there a different type of wood you can get that has less knots? Thanks Matt, love the channel. Greetings from Canada!

If you sort through the picket stack, often there will be pickets with only one or two knots. You can easily cut around them, but will have to buy more pickets overall to get the material needed.

What length hose did you model that for, Matthew? Great project!

I dig the concept, and it looks great. However, in actual use, i dont see it being very practical to wrestle a hose in and out of there. It may be fine for storing off-season.

First off, as a Mikey, people always get the quote wrong. It's not "Mikey eats everything." The quote is, "Don't give it to Mikey; he HATES everything!" Then, as Mikey eats, "Oh, look! He likes it! Mikey Likes it!" Alright, with that out of the way, this will be another project to add to my list, so thank you. One additional thing as a question, one of the problems I have when building planters (all from your plans) is that I can't get them to be level/square on the floor (many times, there's a wobble). What suggestions would you have to help mitigate or eliminate this problem? Thanks for all of your inspiration and plans; I can build that!
