I had some of them boards made and added the components myself. They work absolutely fine to stop false triggering. Since then though I've upgraded my Protoneer CNC Shield to a Version 3.51 which includes resistor and capacitor filtering on the board.
I want to use an inductive sensor as the limit switch , which has an open collector output. Is it feasible to interface with this grbl buffer board directly or do I need any intermediate relays ?
I have a similar system using a Grbl and I just added an optocoupler to reduce false alarms. I was wondering to I need to program the Grbl to accept the optocoupler?
Thanks for the video. Just when I am having problems with mine. I have mine wired as NO. Is it wired the same as you have shown but of coarse on the NO terminal? Where can someone purchase the limit switch board? Thanks
@@joshgibb04 Did you get it all wired up now Josh. I finally managed to get some buffer boards but now realise I am using a CNC shield and this video does not cover that! Just direct to the arduino. :(
Andy Taylor I did get it wired up and running. But am currently doing some upgrades to my machine so am swapping out the mechanical limit switches for inductive switches. I dont use a CNC shield on the Arduino but I would assume that you would wire from the buffer board to the corresponding limit switch pins on the cnc shield
I'd say mach3 is the more professional version. But a license is like $200 and I'd probably only use it if my budget is high enough. Not worth it for a cnc router with a $600 budget
Great video but I am now confused..lol This is showing connections to the arduino . what are the connections when you use a CNC shield or Protoneer board??
It's not for sale, you have to make it yourself. Or send the file to the recipient to create a PCB.

Is GRBL normally programmed to use NC or NO limit switches? or in which file and line number does one set it up ?
Not sure what's default, but the setting is $5. You can invert switch on any axis.

Where you get the limit switch buffer board at 1:09?
Thank you for the information ! I need to replan my limit switch design. Just in time :)

Isn`t there an additional resistor needed ? Otherwise you permanently sink the full current from all 3 outputs...
Great, it works.
But mine is the other way around. The protection is activated when the switch position is closed. Does anyone know the reason?
Hello, you might know the awnser to my question. Can you use indusctive sensor as a end stop with a cnc shield?
Depends on what the output is

Did you ever find out where to buy a limit switch buffer board??

Hello
are you selling these modules?
EXCELENT VIDEO, great explanation so simply, so fast learrning
Super - Thank you. Excellent video and explanation.👍
hi everyone. which one is better arduino or mach 3 for making cnc?
Mach3 needs a computer. Arduino can run hooked i.e. to a raspberry pi running octoprint, so you could remote upload your gcodes using a browser

Thanks for this video
But I have arduino mega and ramps 1.4 plz explin how connect and programing with lime Switch and spindal control

Nice one
After long time (welcome)
Great video but I am now confused..lol This is showing connections to the arduino . what are the connections when you use a CNC shield or Protoneer board??
The connections are labeled on the protoner board. The pins on the arduino are connected to the end stop pins on the shield.
grbl 0.9 can sir ?
where to buy this GRBL buffer board ? Any sellers online ?
Order pcb from jlcpcb
Excellent video thanks heaps
Olá, tem algum tutorial seu ensinando a montar uma impressora 3D ou CNC? Muito bom seus vídeos! 👍🏻
