  • I recorded a second video showing you how to iron Hama beads (or perler beads depending on where you live) correctly as the first craft video I made is quite old and was recorded in portrait mode so you can't see very well. The link that that video is here: • How to iron Hama beads...
    Pixel / Hama / Perler bead projects do not need to be ironed on both sides. I find that if you only iron one side (but do it well), then you get a nice front side that looks really cool - much better than melted plastic blobs on both sides of your pixel art project.
    To iron your Harma or Perler bead project, you will need:
    Hama bead project ready on the peg board.
    Hama ironing paper (or greaseproof baking paper).
    Ironing board (or suitable ironing surface)
    Iron (do not use the steam function, start on the setting in the middle then increase if required).
    You can find more Hama bead projects on my craft blog at www.emmaline.co.uk or let me know what you'd like me to cover in the comments below.

    I've always heard ironing over the pegboard will warp the pegboard itself.

    • @EmmMcAndrew
      @EmmMcAndrew  7 років тому

      ruinawish hi, you iron over the paper, not directly on the peg board. The peg board will only warp if you use too much pressure and heat - keep moving the iron around :)

    I feel like all stuff I've see is melted both sides. I guess baking paper to protect the board after flipping and otherwise the same process., I think it will hold together better. But I guess it is a matter of taste if you like the melted side, then it is double sided ofc.

    • @EmmMcAndrew
      @EmmMcAndrew  26 днів тому

      Exactly. I don’t like the melted look so I only iron one side.

    What temperature do you use?

    • @EmmMcAndrew
      @EmmMcAndrew  5 років тому +4

      Tiara Haynes-Kelly hiya, I use 2 or 3 depending on the iron. If it’s your first go at it, I’d say go low and you’ll know if the beads aren’t fusing so you can increase the temp until they start to fuse (you’ll see them start to blob out).
