Greetings from US. I have bought Orient watches as gifts for my family members. I have a bambino small seconds but always wanted an Orient star. This model checks all the boxes for me. Some don’t like the power indicator but I personally love it. I think it gives the watch a dual role, dressy and sporty appearance at the same time. Thank you for a great review, just bought it. Can’t wait to get it.

I’ve been building a hypothetical collection for a few months which had mostly Seikos on, then I saw this! This will be my first watch there’s no question about it, I now know what people mean when they say they see a watch that they “have to have”. It’s made me re-think my approach to collecting and I’m now going to build a collection based on watches I feel that connection with, as opposed to just what I “should” have. been looking for an English review for a while so props to you for the video! Such a stunning watch & well presented by yourself. Only thing i think the video would benefit from would be a better quality camera to really show off the watches but overall, great stuff a have subbed!

It certainly has a GS-esque feel to it. Such a great dial, hands and markers. Power reserve indicator might take away a bit of the over all clean look, but I'd love to have it on some watch, since it's damn practical. Talking about that, 50h power reserve is nice as well. I've always thought the Star models seemed great for the money, and this might be one of the very best I've seen so far.
Nice watch and excellent video Simon. I have 3 Orients myself, the classic Orient Mako XL Orange bezel diver, a nice Tristar dress watch my wife stole from me.. Lol, actually it's 37mm and suits her wrist more than mine. Also a JDM traditional black on white panda dial chronograph. This is a lovely watch Simon, all mine are spot on time wise too. You made a great purchase. This is a great size too, not too small for the big wrist person or too big for slimmer wrists.
I know the struggle mate as my wife has nabbed loads of watches off of me. I really like that Panda chronograph and it’s definitely one I’d like to add to my collection/channel. Thanks for watching my man and I hope you’re well 👍👍
As an Orient fan boy, I love this. An elegant offering, with just one fly in the ointment… I don’t like the power meter, visually it breaks up the symmetry of the dial, and it feels unnecessary, if you wear the watch as your daily which I absolutely would, it’s going to be running and mostly fully wound all day. It’s still a beauty though, I am hugely envious.😀
Fantastic piece definitely punching way above its weight class, Orient as a brand overall do turn out some seriously good quality watches & at £400 this one is insane value....👍👍

I bought the Orient Star open heart RK-AT0002E00B ( green dial) last year & sold a Seiko Sarb 033 a couple months later. It was my first Orient purchase, & I would say that it is a better finished watch, & better overall value than the Seiko. Your watch would be very comparable to mine, so I'd agree with your positive review on the watch
I have the OS retrograde and classic as well as a GS sbga001. Dare I say the quality of the retrograde is about 70% of my GS which is amazing considering the price point!
A stunning watch with just enough complication on the dial to keep it interesting. It would be a great work daily. Shame it's 2mm too big on L2L and dial to be 100% for me.
I also got this one. It really looks way better than in pictures or reviews. Sunburst dial. The indicators realty pop up. Case is great. The only thing that it lacks is the clasp. I find a bit cheap. But in this price it really is two or three heads above
I love orient, I'd take em over seiko anyday. I sold all my seikos and only have orients now. I got 2 orient and 1 orient star classic with the domed crystal. Best watch I've ever had. Very good finishing and it looks and feel way ahead of its price with really good accuracy. Only downside that mineral crystal that already have scratches on it. Now I am looking for a backup and this one is the next best thing, with sapphire and more water resistance. My only personal problem though is that I am more into domed crystals and this one have flat crystal but even though it looks amazing so I think this will be my next orient star.
This is a beautiful watch that really does punch high above it's weight. I've had my eye on the blue version for a long time now, but they are really hard to come across. The only criticism I would have with it is that the bigger than average caseback seems to add some unneeded thickness, butvas I'm used to wearing dive watches all the time, I doubt it would be that big of a deal. Great pick up and review brother!!
I haven’t seen the blue one, what is the model number?? I can’t say I’ve had any issues with the thickness tbh and I’m completely blown away by this watch and as you say, it definitely punches above it’s weight, no doubt. Thanks for watching my man 👍👍

I've had it for a few weeks, beautiful watch. However, it has disadvantages. It is quite heavy, I think mainly because of the bracelet because it is thick. I'm going to replace the belt, so that's not a problem. However, the shiny dial is disturbing, it reflects a lot of reflections, in my opinion, a matte dial would be more elegant and practical. Before buying the white one, I also watched it with a black dial, there the effect was a lot, a lot of flashes, and the deep black matt would be sensational.
It’s a tough one to compare really given the quote substantial price difference but for me, I really love this watch and it is a firm favourite in my collection. I hope that helps and thank you for watching 👍👍
That’s personal choice mate and everyone is entitled to wear their watch as they please. As for the caseback, I don’t disagree but I needed to be picky to have something in ‘pants’. This watch is a stunner 👍👍
Orient is not owned by seiko. They are onwed by epson. An ive been on the fence for months now with this particular orient star. In white dial. I own 1 watch, as of today. The orient star heritage. "White dial". Great watch. Love it. Ive owned other orients. The triton, the orient star diver, the orient star classic. Such beautiful high quality watches. But sadly those are gone. I am waiting for the next dive watch that orient star comes out with. That will be my next watch. "Hopefully".

These are nearly as well finished as a grand Seiko. A light of hype with GS. Orient Star gets very very close on finishing
