I have to be honest with you, I have such a fascination, with learning how to play. I want to get better @ it. I want to try to be able to pick a hand & get a little faster with my decision. I went to a community center ( I have not returned there), & one of the players told me, she had to go grocery shopping & she needed me to hurry up & decide

I've been luck the 4 times I've gone and played at rec centers or the book store coffee shop and they've been very patient... Sad to be that player on many levels

That's a true bummer Stella! You will find your peeps and please don't let one bad apple spoil it. Hope she found something quick for lunch/dinner. lol! I'd go back to the community center. Watch some of my Live videos and see I do not spend too much time making decisions. It comes down to getting more comfortable with the card. The game is best played at a fast pace. However, it's also played with patience and kindness to yourself and others. Not everyone is on super fast mode. Keep practicing and give the community center another shot. Don't pay to much mind to her. Next time say - We all have things to do but I am playing Mah Jongg right now til (time) Don't apologize for the wait - it's saying to her you are right, I can do better. You are doing GREAT! Next time make it clear if she at your table when you start...Are you in a rush today... I'm her to enjoy Mah Jongg.
