I TRUST YOU LORD. Please give me strength to get through this Christmas. I’m holding on and keeping faith. I keep faith even as I constantly struggle to provide for my kids and I constantly struggle to buy groceries. My husband is with you God. At times I feel so alone especially as a single mom. Since suffering a heart attack two years ago and my on going battle with lupus I’m overwhelmed. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m now homeschooling them so my hours to work are limited. Thankfully I have you Lord Jesus. Please continue to give me strength. ❤
I have always loved the Jewish people & always will. My x-husband was Jewish and we had two wonderful children, that I raised in the Christian faith. I tried to witness to my x(who has since passed away) at no avail 😢 But his entire family escaped Iran & reside in Israel & I pray for them daily, without ceasing. May they all come to the knowledge that Jesus is their Messiah🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
I highly recommend the book The Separation of Church and Faith: Copernicus and the Jews. Chapter 8 specifically addresses the term “Ioudaioi” which is commonly translated into English as “the Jews.” The fact is that throngs of Jewish people crowded around Yeshua just about everywhere He went. Sometimes He had to sneak away to have some time to rest with His disciples. Sometimes they stayed for days without food supplies to hear what He had to say. Thousands of Jewish people, on foot, in huge, eager crowds, all over Israel, welcoming Yeshua and seeking Him out. Here is an excerpt from “Copernicus,” as we affectionately call the book mentioned above, pages 101-102: The word loudaioi appears more than 50 times in John, about four times as often as in all the other gospels combined. If we subtract the references using the phrase "King of the Jews," which was on the cross, loudaioi appears only four times in the first three gospels, but still some 50 times in John. The usages in John are significant not only numerically, but also historically. For centuries, they have been used to legitimize anti-Jewish feeling, doctrine, and policy in the Church. In furtherance of this purpose, loudaioi is always understood to mean "the Jews," that is, all Jews. That is not, however, the primary way that the gospel of John uses the term. In a further flight of malevolent fantasy, theologians and preachers make it refer to all Jews of all time. Chapter 8 of “Copernicus” also reproduces all the passages in the Messianic Writings where the word “Ioudaioi” appears. Everyone interested in the truth of scripture should read this book.
by grace through faith are you saved, not by works, lest, anyone boast. JESUS, the power of GOD, the wisdom of GOD, (and last, but far from least, the LOVE of GOD). In JESUS is neither Jew, nor, Gentile, neither male< or female. And there is so much more in the wonderful WORD of GOD. Love you, Shelly
This was a good conversation with Josh about highlighting on the topic antisemitism. I know that the chosen people of God are the Jews and I love and respect them. We need to pray to Jesus who can change the hearts of people who are against Jews. No to antisemitism. I love and stand with Israel. God bless you. ❤🙏👍🇮🇱✝️
John's gospel is definitely challenging in that respect but only because we read it with the background of 2,000 years of violent Christian antisemitism behind us. My take is that John, the apostle whom Jesus loved and who stressed love more than any other NT writer, simply wrote "the Jews" as a shortcut for "the Jews who didn't believe in Jesus" and in his day, those unbelieving Jews were persecuting the believing Jews, they were in a position of power not of oppression, hence his seemingly insensitive treatment of Jews, insensitive to our modern ears, but not in John's context. It's very similar to how shocking to us are some of the things Reformers wrote of their adversaries, even of fellow Reformers.
Josh, you mention that your family's history starts in Babylonia. Does that mean you should be allowed to go back and force the people off from what you consider 'your' land, de-humanize, torture and oppress them?
I have always loved the Jewish people tho not Jewish myself . I love Israel and hope to go there one day . I don't understand Anti Semitism and to be honest it sickens me . I Pray for Israel and for the Jewish people. Christians should stand with and support Israel because we wouldn't have the word of God Without them. The book of Esther has 2 versions: 1st is in Masoretic which does not mention God in any direct way. This is also the most common since the KJV has this Masoretic version. 2nd is in the Septuagint aka, LXX. This version is full of the mentioning of God and is more in detail.
Hate destroy the hater, love builds strength and unity I try not to hate for it effects me more than the hated they could be ignorant of my hate but if that person doesn’t hate it dose not effect them the same.So don’t hate dislike is better I dislike some foods but still eat them if I hated I would not eat.
The problems that Israel has with left and right in politics and religion showed up as hate with the demonstrations in Israel, for some it’s Christian’s Israelis that hate is shown as if religion defines you as a Jew or not it’s birth not religious belief
If Satan could have got rid of the Jewish people before Messiah Jesus was born, He couldn't have come the first time. Jesus is coming back to the Jewish people so If Satan can get rid of them while Jesus is waiting in Heaven to return, He can't come back. Satan knows his end and he'll do everything he can to try to stop it happening.
We being Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
You have to read the NT in its entirety - not cherry-pick those texts which fit a narrative consistent with your preferences & prejudices. The Jews did not kill Jesus - the prevailing political & religious establishments did. The Gospel accounts make this crystal clear. As Mark 12:37 tells us “…the common people heard him gladly”. Things are no different today. Politicians take positions and pass laws that many of us find objectionable, and many religious leaders promote theological mythology & misinformation, the source of which is extra-Biblical. We should not blame the Jews for the murder of Jesus. Then as now, the whole sordid affair resulted from the dearth of good leadership. That will all change when Jesus sits on the throne in Jerusalem.
One thing that makes Judaism unique is that it is a conflation of ethnicity and religion - on a level that doesn't really exist elsewhere. Another thing that makes them unique, theologically, is that they are God's chosen people. So anti-semitism, theologically speaking, is a form of occult demonism. If God loves the Jewish people, then you know who hates them. Remember always that Jesus was a Jew - all Jews then, are related to Jesus by blood. So, indirectly, anti-semitism is demonic and a form of occultism. So, if you are wrestling with this, please let it go, and remember that Jews are Jesus brothers, sisters, and cousins - family members to Jesus. One important aspect of Christianity is that it made most of the saliently important aspects of Judiaism available to non-jews, along with the offer of salvation.
