    This is the tree of my childhood! I spent a lot of time climbing in the Boxelder, me and the neighbor girl would take turns collecting these seeds and dropping them down from our tree house.

    I don't understand why some people say it's an unattractive tree. I find them very attractive whenever I see one around here. I like how they have leaves out early

    Thumbs up for show & tell on boxelders. I confuse these a bit with white ash (also opposite leaflets) ... but boxelder bark seems spookier and twisted.

      This bark looks a bit like a 'terrain map' ... with many asymmetries denoting the landscape.
