This tree grows wherever I move, too. It is growing in my garden now. It's doing well. It's super happy . I will have to find somewhere to put it. It's a baby.

In the woods around me the this species makes up almost 50% of the trees . It seeds itself prolifically, like birch, and quickly fills in any open areas. It grows relatively quickly considering how hard and dense the wood is, but doesn't get much beyond 12 inches trunk diameter. Makes outstanding firewood, and tool handles or other objects where a durable wood is needed, though it's not rot resistant. It would be a good species for a tall hedge as it takes to pruning well when young. Thanks for letting folks know how to find this great tree.
