How to Freeze Apples ~ So Easy!

Peel and core apples. Cut into thin slices. Place cut apples in a bowl filled with cold water and 1-2 TBS of lemon juice to keep them from browning. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and lay apples in a single layer. Put the cookie sheet in the freezer for 3 -5 hours until apples are frozen and then put in freezer bags and store until you are ready to use them!

I have for the first time frozen raw apples. What is the best way to handle the raw apples when making an apple pie? Should they be thawed before placing in the pie shell or is frozen okay? Any tips will be helpful. I don't want a soggy bottom.

You can help prevent a soggy crust by coating the crust with melted butter first. Once it solidifies, you have a protective coating.
Does the lemon juice change the flavor of the apple?

I found making applesauce it turns the sauce a wonderful pink color.
