Thanks for doing a video on this movie. Saw it multiple times when it released. Man, was I blown away by the sheer size and scale of those Kaiju-Jaeger fight scenes. I think why the animation worked and has aged so damn well is because the motion had weight. I don't know how to technically define it but I hope that made sense. Jaeger animations in the sequel seemed like I was watching live action anime. It felt so fake.
