Why footstool & not chair? Especially since كرسي has been used to mean a chair for a single entity. (Peron)
The kursi and arsh are two different things. The kursi is the footstool and the arsh is the throne. The prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said that the kursi when compared to the arsh is like a ring compared to a desert.
I personally don't like the footstool theory i read a better one , Arsh means throne and Kursi means chair , a throne is made of a chair and a podestal a podestal is allways bigger than the chair on it as the arsh which is bigger than tge kursi so the Kursi is tge chair part or the the throne while Arsh describes the entirety of the throne 👍🏻

Kursiy is a footstool, and the Throne is that which the Most Merciful rose above (istiwaa) in a manner that befits His Majesty

in the video it says means the verse of the footstool so yes. kursi is footstool of the King of the kings!
