    Spent months studying and practicing the videos.Also completed his bongo videos as well.Last video Now York Mozambique.Nearly finished all his videos and so far it's been tough.Had some stressy moments as well but amazingly the hole dance papi set has massively transformed me into a sort of sub multi percussion player.Has helped I already have a very strong drums background but percussion is literally like going onto a new instrument.Done some tik tok videos plus appear at countless open mike nights with the confidence I have developed.Wait for the summer I will do some street busking.The videos and instructions has lead me a long way.I am pleased that I have been through all the videos and will be nearly time to celebrate by cracking the bottle open.I was say cheers to Edgar and has been a long journey.🎉

    I’m that Arctic Search and Rescue pilot, and Edgardo is a fantastic and generous teacher! I give the highest recommendation to take zoom lessons from him. He’s just as enthusiastic and personable during a lesson. He took my playing up several levels from the very beginning. Believe me, while these videos are such a wealth of knowledge, he can provide so much more in a lesson! Thanks Dance Papi and you, Maestro Edgardo for sharing your incredible talent in such a generous way.

      Thanks for your kind comments, but know that if you got better as a Conguero is because you put the time and effort into it... And ... Yes, I may have helped a bit guiding you in the right direction... Mucha suerte. Good luck. Gracias!

    Your teaching style is absolutely spot on. Slowing things down is a must for new information in my opinion and you do it brilliantly. Singing the pitch of each drum really helps me learn the melodies on kit or percussion. But so many forget to first demonstrate the phrase up to tempo which you do. Hats of man, keep em coming, this student is learning loads!

    You are an amazing teacher, sir. I have been practicing for only a couple of weeks and due to your build up from basic sounds to rythmic structures and variations I had a moment today where I felt freedom to play with this rythm at medium speed already. So happy with the progress. Thanks a lot ❤

      Thanks Johnny! Yeah those drums are 28' high wooden drums, and sort of custom upgraded with thicker hardware, lugs, etc. They are Highline model (which it may be discontinued, not sure) with those upgrades and the color is also unique red matt finish. Purposely small drums too: One 11' and two 12', ideal to play with 3 in small spaces. Bes safe. Cuídate!

    Edgardo - This video is another blast from the past. Again, this is a rhythm you taught me over twenty years ago and it stayed with me from the moment you showed it to me. I like the variations you demonstrated. Now all of that is out there for the rest of the world, including that pilot in the Arctic. Your reach is far. I'm looking forward to more study with you both online and in person after pandemic restrictions permit.

    Hi Dance Papi/Edgardo. Great, instructive videos. Maybe you might let us know how to choose Quinto, Conga, Tumba or other combinations from the many makers: what should we look for? Then, how to set them up, tune them and prepare them for in between gigs after use/storage. Maybe even a vid on maintenance. BTW your slaps are so crisp and the bass tones project so well without apparently tilting the drum: how you manage that is impressive, too.

    This is the first video of yours that I've watched. I love it! You have a very clear and easy to follow teaching style. It's great to learn new versions of Mozambique. I look forward to watching and learning from more of your videos. I wish that I spoke Spanish so that I could learn from all of them. I subscribed to your channel, of course.

    • @Eddysuconga
      @Eddysuconga 3 роки тому

      Thank you Andrew! The language "barrier" its a little tricky, because most of my videos are in english and people in Latin America, request them in Spanish, and when I do one in Spanish... Well ... You know what happens: some one will not understand them and will hope they were in English. That been said, I try to demonstrate very slowly and with a clear count. Music is the international language. Thanks for watching and for subscribing.

    About the clave in mozambique, maestro?
    Rumba clave?
    Big hug from Rio de Janeiro!

    • @Eddysuconga

      2-3 Clave in the NY Mozambique (sometimes Rumba clave in 2-3 fashion or even 2-3 Son Clave) ... Cuban traditional Mozambique in 3-2 Rumba Clave always. What happened was that this video ended up cut into two videos, and I talk about the clave at the end of the second one (not published yet) ... Muito Obrigado! I would LOVE to visit Rio, and Bahia. May be one day... in my way to my country Uruguay.
