Even if we won the superbowl that year nothing comes close too the feeling everyone felt in that moment. I was at this game and let me tell you it was electric! Everyone was crying and hugging. It was amazing! Definitely one of the best moments of my life.

I'm a Pats fan, but I really was hoping the Vikings had made it to the super bowl. They would've been the FIRST team to ever play at their home stadium for the SB. Plus it would've been against my Patriots :) What could've been.
JUST THINK.. In that moment, Stefon Diggs, young kid out of Maryland, is feeling something that probably nobody in the NFL history has felt. Worth more than any million made.

Case Keenum deserves an extension.Former Vikings GM Rick Spielman, screwed this one up. They had a great chemistry going and Keenum would’ve taken way less money than Kirk Cousins received, which could’ve been used to cover any weaknesses around the rest of the Vikings Roster. All Kirk Cousins did was pad stats and get paid. Both players had 1 Playoff win, but guess which one of these QB’s took us farther for less money?
That might have been the most emotional and energetic call that Joe Buck has ever had as a football announcer. It looked like he was gonna lose his voice cause he screamed so loud on that Diggs TD even he couldn't believe it. Just like in the words of his late father Jack Buck "I DON'T BELIEVE WHAT I JUST SAW!" And even though my Eagles did whip the Vikings the next week, that has to go down as on of the most incredible moments in the history on the NFL. Joe nailed it! Great call Joe!
I was at a buffalo wild wings with my friends and the mood in the building went from heartbreaking silence to pure insanity in an instant. I'll never forget it.
Barf Rockskin even if they had somehow beaten the eagles they would’ve lost to New England. The Vikings really won’t ever win a super bowl imo, there’s always a few teams better than them
Every time I watch this (and I watch it a lot) I appreciate it more and more, realizing that it's the walk-off aspect of it that makes it so exciting. I don't think I realized that initially. Even though they didn't advance (again) beyond the NFC Championship game, this was a GREAT consolation that keeps entertaining. Watching the reaction videos that evening and the days afterward are almost as entertaining.
I was in my living room with my mom (also a Viking fan) and we were jumping up and down, yelling like crazy during this. I thought this was going to be another we get screwed at the last minute again, but it was the rare time things went our way. Both this game and the Cubs 2016 World Series had me in the same mindset, the back and forth and constant change of emotions from Inning to Inning / Play to Play. Watching the Saints lose again not only in the video but this year is much deserved Karma for the Saints (and their cheating in the 2009-10 season). Then Karma again this year of them once again being eliminated (where again, they were playing dirty. Jumping on a Rams player's head/neck while he's on the ground and that wasn't even called is inexcusable). So I have no sympathy for them and the missed PI call with all the Saints got away with during the game. Besides, the Saints got the ball first in OT and it was Intercepted by the Rams, which the Saints lost on the Rams FG. Saints are still whining to this day. I'm glad the Rams moved on. I hope they can beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
@@Cadolots Yeah that was low. Wouldn't have blamed them if they'd have just not showed up at all. I mean, let the fucking Vikings kick with no defense on the field! What's the point? And if someone just scored a game winner with only one point leading, a blocked field goal could be returned for a touchdown and win for the other team. So that rule needed to be tossed.
jmcsquared the rule is that the kick only doesn’t happen if it cannot affect the outcome of the game. in your example, the extra point kick would take place as a safety for the defending team would win the game
Even if the Saints blocked the kick and returned it they would only get 2 points. The sports books in Nevada were glad the Vikings didn't kick it the Vikings were + 5 1/2

I think the reason it was taking so long to review the play is they had to check to see if Diggs stepped out of bounds and also to see if any time was left on the clock when he crossed the goal line. If their was even 1 sec. left on the clock the Vikings would have had to kick off to the Saints.
Oh yes the play would continue until tackled, run out of bounds or in this case a touchdown. But what I was saying if Diggs had crossed the goal line and their was still time left on the clock then the Vikings would have had to kick off to the Saints.
@Maphyous exactly! Now I witnessed another rigged play with the Bengals player in his late push out of bounds on Patrick Mahomes this past Sunday. Been reading comments with so many people thinking that was a rigged play with that player paid off to rig the game for a Andy Reid bowl. Now this week I found on the internet 2 former NFL players, Dwight Smith and Larry Johnson saying that Vegas determines many NFL games, especially the major games like the Super Bowl and the conference championships with them saying the refs are paid off to rig games for Vegas with coaches and individual players involved as well.
Got to give props to the Saints players who came out on field to line up for the extra point. I hate the Saints but those players showed their character and got to give them a respect.
Most receivers would have stepped out of bounds given this situation. Diggs instinctively went for the jugular. That’s what winners do; they don’t settle. He forced a trade because the Vikes are stuck in a play-safe mentality. Vikes let go of an elite receiver with a relentless winner’s mentality in favor of a middling and overpaid qb.
I'm a firm believer that the Vikes are now cursed for disrespecting the Minneapolis Miracle. OVERPAID for Kirk Cousins and broke up team chemistry. That was a great TEAM. :-(
If there is 0 seconds left and you're ahead by more than 2 points, kicking the extra point is just hell on the opponents. You won. There isn't any situation that could change that.
