THANKS A MILLION!!! Just took NBDE part I earlier this week and can say I would have had no idea how to solve those questions without watching this video. Many thanks to you and Dr. Rankie for putting together a systematic approach for the occlusion questions. Cheers!
Ammani Bakoush if it’s the right tooth , put hand on right side . And move jaw on the side mentioned in question . If mentioned left , then move jaw left i.e jaw is going away from the hand . I.e non-working movt . BUT , if it’s mentioned jaw is moving right side . Then move jaw right side , jaw is moving towards the hand i.e working movt . Now all this is for the fact in question that it’s written the tooth is right tooth !
hey great videos. a quick question: in your picket fence video, you mentioned that lingual cusp of Mx P1 and P2 rests on the distal fossa of Mn P1 and P2. but why is it in this occlusion diagram you have them rest on the marginal ridges.
First of all thank you for this upload. It helped me refresh my memory on dental occlusion. However, you made a mistake at 8:07 saying that when you move your jaw to the right, it hits your palm so it is a NON-WORKING movement. I think that you meant to say WORKING movement. This confused me tremendously and everytime you used this example with your palm, it ended up being hella confused. If you're making a complicated video like this, please be careful to not have any mistakes.
Very good video. However, the maxillary premolar functional cups are inclined mesially so they usually occlude in the central fossa of the lower premolars rather than their marginal ridges.
Came back to say thanks. Last time I had trouble realizing the correspondence of movemets right to left, turns out enough to mention the cusps and not to care about the vectors themself

I truly appreciate your reply, thanks. I could solve all of the questions which are in your videos but when I am trying to solve some from the ASDA papers, they are not making any sense. I want to show them to you but I do not see any option here to attach them.
Hi Thank u so much for the video I was studying occlusion and came across this: In an ideal occlusion , the lingual cusp of permanent maxillary 1st premolar occludes where?? I marked the answer as distal marginal ridge of mandibular 1st premolar But the correct answer here is Distal triangular fossa of mandibular 1st premolar Given explanation: Since the lingual cusps of maxillary premolars tilt mesially they articulate with the distal triangular fossa Could you pls explain in what occlusion does it occlude in the triangular fossa and the marginal ridge
An interesting approach to occlusion. The only thing confusing is the explanation of movements regarding working/non-working sides which impact the guidance of the opposing teeth. Any way of helping simplify this?s
The oblique ridge of the maxillary 1st molar opposes which structure of the mand molar in ideal intercuspal relation? I know the answer but I dont get it. Could you please explain it? Thank you!
Ummm...so what about the anteriors? I understand this video very well but still left wondering about the anteriors if there is any secret shortcut for that?
Thanks a million! However it would be just awesome if you answer solve the dilemma of upper premolars occluding with their opposing on distal fossae not embrasures.
I'm confused as to when to use the arrows that correspond to the maxillary arch vs. the arrows of the mandibular arch when talking about excursive movements. Can you elaborate please?
eddy621 Try taking two pieces of paper (One as your maxillary arch and one as your mandibular arch) and put them on top of each other. Use a pencil AIMING the tip at one arch and the eraser at the other. perform the movements (protrusive/working/nonworking) and it will literally draw these movements (arrows) onto the paper. (Try this for both arches) You should be able to see how it works. The arrows are meant to describe the movement of the corresponding arches in relation to the other arch. I know this sounds confusing but this helped me understand. I also recommend reviewing the MANDIBULAR MOVEMENTS if you are still confused especially the condyle movements for working and non working side. HOPE THIS HELPS :/ PS. this nbde mnemonics dude is the best.
THANKS A MILLION!!!

what about the distal cusp of mandibular 1st molar? because it only shows MB and DB cusp
Great Videos! can I get access to the private videos please? Thanks in Advance!

Exactly! The numbers 3 n 5 on the mandible should be above the lines. On the distal fossae it almost had me confused.

hi ....can i ask you why we used the maxillary working arrows toward outside and the mandibular working arrows toward inside ??
Thank you so much for making this! I have finally mastered occlusion after 2 years!
Thank you for the video... still confused about the working movements😣
I came back to say thanks. I passed in the first attempt. This video saved my life.
Still confused with movements can u explain

I Keep reading about private videos. How do get access to those?
Came back to say thanks. Last time I had trouble realizing the correspondence of movemets right to left, turns out enough to mention the cusps and not to care about the vectors themself
Please help me out in understanding this video
I didnt understand at all please someone help me out in this
now im definitely gonna pass my board! thank you a million times
Hi, Im having a little trouble understanding the movements with the hand and the working and nonworking movement. Can someone please explain this?
me too, any help?

i dont understand the working and non working for the maxilla. how do you know what way it moves

Hi
Thank u so much for the video
I was studying occlusion and came across this:
In an ideal occlusion , the lingual cusp of permanent maxillary 1st premolar occludes where??
I marked the answer as distal marginal ridge of mandibular 1st premolar
But the correct answer here is
Distal triangular fossa of mandibular 1st premolar
Given explanation:
Since the lingual cusps of maxillary premolars tilt mesially they articulate with the distal triangular fossa
Could you pls explain in what occlusion does it occlude in the triangular fossa and the marginal ridge
Also, you have a protrusive arrow on the mandible in a distal or retrusive direction...?
As this diagram is of the right side.... what if the question comes from the left side to start off with?
Great video, i have a quick question. so right lateral excursion is right working side?
Question about maxillary premolar cusps...is this method correct in saying they occlude on the marginal ridges? Or would it be the distal fossae?
An interesting approach to occlusion. The only thing confusing is the explanation of movements regarding working/non-working sides which impact the guidance of the opposing teeth. Any way of helping simplify this?s
Super for understanding occlusion 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
video's insight and table is great. hand on face thing makes it confusing. Great work!
Great video, thank you so much. You got talent at explaining things to people.
The oblique ridge of the maxillary 1st molar opposes which structure of the mand molar in ideal intercuspal relation? I know the answer but I dont get it. Could you please explain it? Thank you!
Is the number that is in between 2 boxes the cusp of the more anterior tooth or posterior tooth?
still confusing.lol
i got it.lol
Think you'll have to see the video again
Thank you for this video!! It's helping me for my NBDE pt 1. Guys I have a question!! A response from anyone is appreciated! I take NBDE in
Ummm...so what about the anteriors? I understand this video very well but still left wondering about the anteriors if there is any secret shortcut for that?
How do get access to privet videos
Great video really helpful, I can solve all the qs on ur videos but when I apply those rules to asda papers,it confusing..can u solve a qs for me plz
What if it’s left side???
im starting first year of UK dental school in september but wanna move to US post grad - when should i take the NBDE?
Thanks a million!
However it would be just awesome if you answer solve the dilemma of upper premolars occluding with their opposing on distal fossae not embrasures.
Solve*
is there a way to apply this. to class 2 or class 3
7:33 Working vs nonworking movement
جزاك الله خيرا.
finally could understand it! thank you!

brilliant system i must say.
Its awesome but How to find Lateral Protrusive and protrusive movements?
The key is to use the arrows. Write it out on some paper and go through a couple of my examples.
I'm still confused 😔 my exam in 2 weeks and still not getting the occlusion right😞
Someone please help out in solving such type of questions
you are the great !! thank you so much !!
Red text on blue background is...challenging.
GENIUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'm so confused with the mandibular working and non working movements!!! i can't get it any advice?????
rewwatch the vid.
Awesome awesome awesome
Love your other videos but WHAT is going on here...
very help full , thanks alot.
No problem! Be sure to check out the new videos I am posting on my channel!

amazing way really thank you for the video
This is genius :0 thanks a lot!!!!
This was still confusing.
Thanks
this is just graet
and the video is 15 minutes long....how zat
The powerpoint was originally organized so that after watching the video, you can go through the powerpoint in 5 minutes and have it figured out.
The video is confusing and poorly explained. The hand on the jaw example is wrong and it doesn't help. :(
Very complicated video
that took more than 5 minutes. :-p jk. thank you for sharing!
Horrible!
So boring and confusing
