We have 8 semis in our fleet and the boss put me in charge of going through all the CB radios in the semis. Money is not an issue. I put new coax in the trucks, Wilson 2000, and decided to go with the uniden 78 radios. They were on sale at the place where they get parts from. 80 bucks a piece. These radios kick butt. We are a farm and haul grain, so our radios take a lot of abuse. The surface mount held up nicely. The microphones are good quality. You can turn the mic gain all the way up with the stock mic and it is still clear and loud. The radios really punched through the air waves. I have no idea way anybody would consider a Cobra 29 after my experience with these. Much cheaper and much better quality overall.
Basically the same chassis. You might pay a little more for the Cobra name. As you stated the Unidens were on sale. They are all made by the same people. Glad you enjoy your radios.
i have one of these, brand new out of box, it talks great, but there is a hummmmmm of noise like a very high pitch a sound like tinnitus no matter where the volume, squelch or rf gain are set to. It just loud enough to be very distracting. If I take the brightness switch the sound is slightly louder when switched to brighter setting. Anyone know a fix for this before i go sending this radio back? It transmits the clearest audio ever though. Such a crisp sound bone stock with a superstar mic.
It swings forward, and overshoots at first, then the audio limiter catches it and reduces the peak. I guess that's where you are saying "backwards" but it is still forward, just not as much when the limiter (AMC) catches up with the audio. 𝑺𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒘𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙨 🔔 𝘾𝘽

These are great sounding radios I'm impressed with the one I heard on my cb👍👍
So what's the difference in between?
The yumadin barricade PC 78 and the Road king, 56.

Good looking cb
Why does it swing backwards
