  • Join Anna Rose Bain as she embarks on a multi-video series detailing everything she knows about painting children in oils. She will walk you through materials, lighting, the commission process, and of course, proportions, mixing skin tones, and working from live models.
In this third video of the series, Anna gives an in-depth look at the surfaces, paints, and brushes she uses when painting portraits of children. For a full list of her materials, visit her website at www.artworkbyannarose.com/mat...

I watched this video, then went back and watched the video on proportions of children. Both were so interesting. Thank you

    Thank you for this video.
I also saw a previous one with your twin sister and you too look too much like each other! It was really bizarre to see two of you or two of her depending on how you look at it. 😂 Lovely to see two family members united by painting though. You guys must have the strongest bond.
One question. You highlight a lot the use of lead for priming as an archival tool and I agree but you don’t use it on your palette. Is that a personal/artistic preference?

Yeah… sorry about that! It was discontinued. The closest thing I’ve found to it is Indian yellow but it’s still not quite the same.
