Didn't Spike develop Danganronpa? How and why were they chosen for an anime fighting game? I mean, don't get me wrong, Danganronpa is amazing, the entire thing. But... from a visual novel, murder mystery, to a 3-d arena fighter?

Also I’ve had an epiphany they decreased combo longevity damage to force players to use less supers and use more light and heavy hits in combos, that why the combo on went up 10% more when it was awakened, it was because the amount of supers. But I guess even when you want to do a combo the only way people think they can do damage is with supers.

No juggling mechanics or anything, because they don't want pros to play this: they want kids who get a kick out of free, hyper-armored spam. Try doing a pure juggle combo with no supers and watch how quick the game immunes the guy you're fighting. It's sad.

It was literally created so that you'd get punished (via damage scaling and combo-immunity) if a super is not used in your combo, therefore translating to a lack of damage dealt. The game rewards you for spamming supers, not for executing combos.
the whole "not punishing the player when they didnt make a mistake" thing is actually highly debated. in industry its called a negative feedback loop, the concept is common in party games, somthing along the lines of "if the player is doing to well the game assists the other players so the game is more even" best example i can find in games is the mario Kart Blue shell In competitive games like this or smash bros though, yeah its hella trashy.
yeah in a 1 on 1 fighter giving the person in disadvantage the ability to with on move turn the tables so completely is an issue. bamco needs to go back to the drawing board with their fighting games.
it just needs management, tekken 7 did it well with the rage arts or specials, one go through any other move that isnt a whiff sort of becoming a super counter if your not a tekken player, and the other is a increased damage ability enhancing one particular special. but you can only do one of them and must be almost dead. Good mechanic.

When it comes to a competitive game where the tide can turn in seconds that shouldn’t be a mechanic cuz the loser lost cuz he was worse why should the guy will worse skill be assisted that makes games unfair he deserves to lose till he gets better. That’s like running track and the guy with a slower mile time gets to run half a lap less to make it “even”
Long gone are the days of us getting good arena-fighters. Nowadays, Bandai just buys up every anime's game-license, then churns out a cash-grab. Because lack of games for the property means a majority of fans'll buy it, regardless of quality. Bandai's literally holding the possibility of good games, hostage.

It's the concept of selling one well made game whilst taking 4 plus years to develop (which with anime would result in a crazy outdated product story wise, unless you are using finished anime) or you could dish out a bunch of quick products with fewer sales but greater overall accumulating profit due to lack of development time. With that you could integrate small updates over multiple series and experiment with your customers to maximize profit gradually. This is why most recently created characters are in these games.... cause customers love CACS in their games, it allows for a more connected experience which results in a more consistent return of the otaku and anime consumer.

Jump force is like an anti-ones justice. In JF you can escape anything for free and punishes are useless. In OJ if any attack gets perfect blocked you are eating a 50% combo with your only hope being your sidekicks
Yup.... Spam block... enemy going for a grab, sidestep... enemy going for guardbreak, sidestep or grab yourself, Blockers have 100% control and the attacker can do nothing but get Lucky.

To be honest, The only reason why I even still play anymore is because when you find a good match, it's a good match. But 9 time out of 10 you'll probably end up with a spammer or a guard break cheaser and it's just not fun knowing that the other person "ACTUALLY" thinks they are good even though they aren't.

Jump force had so much potential to have added more details the fans would've loved. One example I came up with is that the more injured all might gets, the more skinnier he gets until he is in his distorted form. Attention to detail couldve helped the game alot but also fixing the game in general and nerfing bots cause damn those are extremely OP

Just started playing this game and man your breakdown here of multiple broken mechanics is spot on. I wanted to love this game I did, but it’s just so horribly balanced not just with characters but with how the games rewards skill or lack there of. Glad I found your channel cause I needed to be sure my sanity wasn’t the only one suffering.
And then they have the nerve to tell you: "You're trash. Get good." So you rage, showing them you know lethal loop combos. But what do they do? Rage quit. Soon as you pop a combo (especially with Makoto), it's guaranteed 99.9% of the time.

Just recently saw Clyde's video on this topic and now yours popped up. I been hating on this game since I noticed how ridiculous it was from the start. Was super hyped and invested in it to only be severely let down. Glad more people are finally seeing the light with this. I'm not even gonna bother wasting money on the OPM game.
Things that would make jumpforce better. Imho 1. Vanish either taken out completely or like you said atleast half stamina, (I'm ok with awakening combo breaks, there's a big cost to get out of a combo so that's fine) 2. The whole ping pong sequence would he really cool if it was worth it, like if you got 1 bar of meter each successful hit. Then those really intense high speed dodge sequences would be more prevalent and worth it than always doing light>light >light> light >heavy> heavy >heavy >special. 3. Make high speed counters a parry mechanic. 4. Make high speed dodges just for the ping pong sequence. 5. Give team synergy a reward, dont know how many times I've won using just kiilua and ice sword girl. I got dai on my team but sometimes I dont use him at all. Maybe give extra meter when you switch characters during combos or even extra stamina. 6. Awakening should be gained by either A. Successful hits/combos or B. A timed thing. Dont know how many times I've done a full combo on m friend for him to vanish the last hit then super and now the health is tied up. That just shouldnt exist This is just a start I also dont like how if you jump, you get supered for free. If you keep vanishing, add end lag so if you read the vanish you can punish it. And the first bar shouldnt charge for free, it promotes camping. I'd like to see some.of this change
Honestly... They need to drop the Jump Force fighting game shenanigans and go for a Jump Force Musou game... Just using your favorite characters to destroy hordes and hordes of enemies seems way more fun IMO!!
I still have so much fun. I play it with my friends every time they come over. I think if it really hurts you that much, then you definitely shouldn’t play it, but I also believe that the quality of this game as been extremely overexagerated. It’s not bad. In fact I’ve had as much fun playing this game with my friends as smash bros and mortal kombat. I’m not exaggerating.
If they made separate health bars for each character and balance it more then that alone would make the game so much better. Why the fuck do all 3 characters share a health bar? No other 3v3 game does that. It makes having teammates useless wtf. Fix that shit! This change alone alongside some other balance patches dealing with the stamina bar and escaping etc also the Scaling of damage would make the game so much better
That's actually a really good idea...but then again if the core mechanics are broken adding health won't fix it.. its's just prolonging the salt and hatred we have for this game
You/Only/Live/Online sharing health bars should the last thing in mind, that's how they made the game, and it isn't breaking or decreasing its quality in anyway, because we got stupid stuff in this game which are actually worth fixing. Storm 4 didn't have separate health bars for each character either by the way. One health bar for all three is better that way for combos
grabbing in bandai namco games are always strong. They always have the most invincibility frames. Bamco doesnt seem to understand that when making these games. Same thing happens in Xenoverse
They need to add a game mode called elimination, each character has its own health bar and its just 1 round, if all enemy characters are defeated you win

It was released broken intentionally like how the first xenoverse was so they could improve it and come with a perfect second game. I refuse to believe they after making xenoverse 2 and ninja storm 4 they let jumpforce be this blocky unintentionally.
I mean I still like the game. Lots of games have had a real bad start but after a lot of changes and fixes, got really good. Ex: Star Wars Battlefront 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Street Fighter 5, etc. It isn’t impossible. It’s just gonna take time.

Eh... He should just give it up yeah jump force made him but there was a bunch of controversy with him and the game most of the time. And he isnt that open to opinions/criticism maybe that probably changed but he just doesn't enjoy jump force at all.
I usually hate escape mechanics in any fighter but the one game that I think did it right is BlazeBlue cross tag battle since you can punish the opponent hard if you read/react to an escape.
Games like these need to be treated with more dedication. Imo if they gave it a simpler show accurate look like Xenoverse and shinobi striker they would have the time to make it super detailed and a better game in general.
Thank you for making all of your Jump Force content. As it was a nice way to get into the community without (And without anything better coming to mind.) fully committing to buying the game. Here's to hoping the next in the line of Jump fighting games turns out to blow our expectations out of the water.

Jump force had so much potential to have added more details the fans would've loved. One example I came up with is that the more injured all might gets, the more skinnier he gets until he is in his distorted form. Attention to detail couldve helped the game alot but also fixing the game in general and nerfing bots cause damn those are extremely OP

And then they have the nerve to tell you: "You're trash. Get good." So you rage, showing them you know lethal loop combos. But what do they do? Rage quit. Soon as you pop a combo (especially with Makoto), it's guaranteed 99.9% of the time.

Just recently saw Clyde's video on this topic and now yours popped up. I been hating on this game since I noticed how ridiculous it was from the start. Was super hyped and invested in it to only be severely let down. Glad more people are finally seeing the light with this. I'm not even gonna bother wasting money on the OPM game.
Things that would make jumpforce better. Imho
1. Vanish either taken out completely or like you said atleast half stamina, (I'm ok with awakening combo breaks, there's a big cost to get out of a combo so that's fine)
2. The whole ping pong sequence would he really cool if it was worth it, like if you got 1 bar of meter each successful hit. Then those really intense high speed dodge sequences would be more prevalent and worth it than always doing light>light >light> light >heavy> heavy >heavy >special.
3. Make high speed counters a parry mechanic.
4. Make high speed dodges just for the ping pong sequence.
5. Give team synergy a reward, dont know how many times I've won using just kiilua and ice sword girl. I got dai on my team but sometimes I dont use him at all. Maybe give extra meter when you switch characters during combos or even extra stamina.
6. Awakening should be gained by either A. Successful hits/combos or B. A timed thing. Dont know how many times I've done a full combo on m friend for him to vanish the last hit then super and now the health is tied up. That just shouldnt exist
This is just a start I also dont like how if you jump, you get supered for free. If you keep vanishing, add end lag so if you read the vanish you can punish it. And the first bar shouldnt charge for free, it promotes camping. I'd like to see some.of this change

I still have so much fun. I play it with my friends every time they come over. I think if it really hurts you that much, then you definitely shouldn’t play it, but I also believe that the quality of this game as been extremely overexagerated. It’s not bad. In fact I’ve had as much fun playing this game with my friends as smash bros and mortal kombat. I’m not exaggerating.
If they made separate health bars for each character and balance it more then that alone would make the game so much better. Why the fuck do all 3 characters share a health bar? No other 3v3 game does that. It makes having teammates useless wtf. Fix that shit! This change alone alongside some other balance patches dealing with the stamina bar and escaping etc also the Scaling of damage would make the game so much better

You/Only/Live/Online sharing health bars should the last thing in mind, that's how they made the game, and it isn't breaking or decreasing its quality in anyway, because we got stupid stuff in this game which are actually worth fixing. Storm 4 didn't have separate health bars for each character either by the way. One health bar for all three is better that way for combos
grabbing in bandai namco games are always strong. They always have the most invincibility frames. Bamco doesnt seem to understand that when making these games. Same thing happens in Xenoverse
They need to add a game mode called elimination, each character has its own health bar and its just 1 round, if all enemy characters are defeated you win

The only good Jump game was Jump Ultimate Stars. Not for the campaign so much, but for multiplayer.

I usually hate escape mechanics in any fighter but the one game that I think did it right is BlazeBlue cross tag battle since you can punish the opponent hard if you read/react to an escape.
