Hi, everyone!💕 A few things I’d like to clear up in this video: 1. I am a licensed esthetician. 2. This video is in reference to Illinois only. I am not sure of any accredited lash courses. 3. This video was done after researching how a person can be professionally educated through an accredited 320hr course on the expertise of lashing, without the focus of esthetics as a whole. Meaning how they’d be able to get all the knowledge required to learn lashing without having to learn the full scope of an esthetician - since they wouldn’t be an esthetician. Technically they’d be a licensed lash tech - upon completion of the accredited course and approved application to the IDPFR (Illinois). 4. I did not go the route mentioned in this video. The research was done to try and help ppl who could be interested in taking that route. I encourage you all to do your own research and not rely solely on what I've discovered. This info isn’t going to pertain to every city/state, so it will then be up to you to research your states guidelines so that you’re aware. In no way am I encouraging non-estheticians to do esthetic work, nor am I encouraging anyone not licensed to engage in practices that needs licensure and/or certification. Instead, I encourage you to research your states guidelines, put in the work to achieve those guidelines, and be the best you can be in the beauty industry! Love y’all and if you need any help/guidance within the beauty world, text the lash line: (708)965-4355 💕💕
For everyone in the comments making it seem like getting certified is wrong must go do they research because its nothing wrong with it I know certified lash techs all over who work on clients and have learned sanitation and after care all in their course and learn wayyy more that way than when they went to school for it so its all depends on how u wanna go about it tbh its just a title and and its 2021 people are realizing the system of things and are taking there own route and it's smart
I guess it depends on the state because in California you can only legally braid with no type of state permit any other beauty services if something goes wrong you can be reported to state board and fined as well as banned from doing services on others.
Getting an esthetician liscense or cosmo is such a waste of time bcz they literally dont teach about lashes compared to a certificate program that actually goes into detail. I feel Lik esthetician just more to come off as professional but i can tell u that they dont teach about lashes only clusters. Thts y most esthetician’s actually end up doing extra certifications to learn more indepth and hands on which u wont ever get in beauty school i really hate the fact u gotta be liscensed
The difference in getting an esthetic license and getting certified is after having ur license u dont have to get certified and know more about safety and infection control practices just in my experience
@@DanysDollHouse That's understandable, but I feel like why spend so much money and time on a license a when you don't learn anything about lashes in detail? You still have to get certified anyways so I think that is the point she was trying to make, I hate that getting a license is so necessary too because u can learn about sanitation and everything in a reputable certification school. In less time and save money 💯 I wouldn't want a licensed person on my lashes if they truly don't know what they are doing. I'd go to someone with just a certification. #JustMyOpinion 🤷🏾♀️ based on knowledge.
@@mix-it-upmocha1136 I agree but I feel like to have the extra curriculum it should be a eyelash extension specialty program to get licensed , I took a course and I live in Ga I have to now spend more money just to legally do lashes and I know going to school would not teach me anything about lashes I had went to cosmetology school in NY and they don’t teach nothing about lashes if so it would be aestheticians and teach about clusters such a waste and energy man
@@Dymendd Exactly 💯 definitely should be a specialty program dedicated to just lashes 💕 I'm sorry you going through all that Queen 🥺 I live in Indiana state and their laws is we don't have to have a license just a reputable certification school taught by licensed estheticians/cosmetologists is enough. This is a proposed bill. The bill was sine die meaning they have not relooked over the bill since it’s original session in 2017. It was never made into regulation.
CA requires that you be a licensed esthetician or cosmo to do this legally. if you are only cerified but you hold no licence then no you are not legally supposed to do it. this is a big problem in CA because here, if you are a LICENSED cosmo or esthetician you do NOT need to be certified to do lashes so it has caused much much confusion. due to this, a lot of people here think that because the law said you do not need to be certified as a lash artist they think you can do so with out any kind of license at all. please look up your laws, inform your self before you go advertise please.
Listening is just as fundamental as reading, dear. This video pertains to the Illinois General Assembly. You can take this info to the California citizens who need it. xo
Do you have any recommendation to any reputable schools that offer lash extention courses? I live in the Chicago area and I'm only finding schools that offer 2 day classes
Is it true that if you’re a registered nurse you can perform cosmetic services under your license as long as you take a class and get certified by a licensed cosmetologist or license aesthetician? I was told by the Virginia DPOR that as a registered nurse I can perform cosmetic services under my license as long as I take a course and get a certificate of completion and that course or instructor has to be a licensed esthetician or cosmetologist, And I am exempt from taking the state board exam because I am a registered nurse.
wow thank you so much for this information so helpful. Just want toa sk you do you know any school that teach only that program or only 320 hours needed for eyelashes, I live in IL... but I can not find any. Help please. thank you
Thank you for this. I’m still confused at the 320 hours course tho. Is that in only lashes? Bc I’ve been looking online and all the courses are just certification that takes a few days. How do I find a 320 hour course? Thanks!
Hey babe, I’d research the guidelines of whatever state you’re in and if they allow the 320hrs. After that just type in “accredited lash extension training courses in (insert state)”. There’s so many ppl that ask me about the guidelines and courses for their states but I only know about Illinois😩 I hope that helps

Hi, Marie! Listening is just as fundamental as reading. Per the Illinois General Assembly, as long as you have 350hrs worth of education in lashing procedure from a licensed Cos or Este Educator, you can then submit an application to the Dept of Business and Prof. Regulation and, upon approval of the application, begin your services legally. The bill is specifically for ppl who want to start a lashing business and receive the appropriate education w/o being obligated to learn anything outside of the scope of lashing. As explained in the video☺️
