I would love to stay in a shelter for that experience of other hikers, but I am that guy everyone hates that snores. I mean roar, shaking the building. So I sleep off by myself. Lol
Gabi Cerra and Journey to the destination are a couple of people I am subscribed to as well! I’ve connected with Gabi on socials a few times, she seems very chill and down to earth. Haven’t had a chance to reach out to Journey yet. But girrrrl thanks for the shout out (AGAIN)! You did not need to do that :) I can’t wait to see what this mysterious hike of yours that you keep mentioning is!😉 anywho another fantastic video by Taylor! YGG
@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker I know right! I cannot wait to get out there! I want to meet everyone and really just enjoy the experience. Exactly what you mentioned in this video. :)
Puffy coat with or without hood? 100% with hood IMHO. I cannot think of a downside to having a hood even if you also have a hat and a buff. Instant comfort the moment you stop moving and start to get a bit of a chill.
Following along your current season. Definitely AT hiking is another ‘sport season’ to follow. 😃 I’ve done a lot of day hikes and would definitely love to get into section hiking someday. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Great video!! I’m loving these videos for the class of 2023 they are so helpful. And thanks for the shoutout :) your hike inspired mine so I’m exciteddd
Hey Taylor! Thanks for the shoutout! I’m anxiously counting down the days until I get on trail again! I loved your answer about vlogging. During my attempt in 2022, I felt like it gave me something else to focus on, and it motivated me to keep going. If you are looking for more questions for a part 2, I would love to know if you experienced homesickness and how you dealt with it! When it comes to thru hiking, I think one of my biggest obstacles is missing my family and pets. Thanks!
❤❤ Sound advice on the sock liners. I have a bit of experience in this department as well because I carry a heavy pack for my job. Wearing sock liners prevents blisters by removing a large portion of friction away from the “sock/foot” friction point and it allows the friction to happen more so between the inner and outer socks. I love this method of blister prevention. It seems to be one of the better options, in my humble opinion.
I'm sure you know Taylor...Mount Washington set the national record for windchill. 108 below zero! Anything above 5000 feet was briefly in the stratosphere. Windchill got to 50 below in Maine and that was enough for me. Stay warm everyone. ✌️
I am 100% sock liner, but have had mixed results with Injinji. They're great at preventing friction between toes, but for me the toes are cut too short even if I get a sock one size bigger than normal. Having a sock that's "too short" is almost as bad as having a shoe that's too small. Obviously this issue depends on your anatomy. My solution is that I tape up my known hot spots between my toes and use a regular sock liner.
I'm living vicariously through a couple of 2023 hikers....again.....until I can do my own. I'm following Laura Evelyn too! Partly b/c I'm also a Florida girl, and also b/c she seems funny and down to earth. Thanks for the great info...as always 😀
Truly great to experience such an experience. As someone who was so much into hiking, nature, and just getting outdoors as much as possible. I have declined in that attitude and mindset, and ended up in a big city and feeling stuck. So I am really glad to come across your video and feel pushed, inspired, and a rising energy to change the situation. Thank you again and wishing you all the best :)

Taylor, you nailed and all you responses were so spot on. Awesome content ! Hope you are well. Hope to meet you this year in New Hampshire when I finish the trail!
These were some really helpful tips, especially the first for me. Many say to take things day by day, but not so much do they give examples of how. Thank you, thank you!!
I would like to get information on to get started with hiking the A T. I'm 57 and have never hiked more than a few hours at a time at state park. So I've never did overnights, I don't k own what kinds foods, or survival gear and hike gear, or other things I'm sure I haven't heard mentioned.
Well said and good Q&A. I watch AT videos like watching sports as well!! Love hiking season and it comes earlier every year. We have had alot of hikers so far this month! Finally got winter in the Smokies and those guys are feeling it! Gatlinburg is busy!! Hahha
Always great information. You're highly respected so people listen, I think bc it comes from experience but also bc your so honest about your experiences. Following the same people and more. Between Tara Treks but mainly @Ramdino I have so many I'm following. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
I would love to get back on the AT for a section or 2. I have some hiking plans for 2023 but I haven't announced anything yet. Not in Canada or Alaska, but those places seem wild!
Hey Taylor, How are you? I'd love to hear about how you manage to put your videos together so effortlessly when on trail? Are you using imovie or some other program? What's the tips? I'm thru hiking the AT in 2023 and I'd like to post regularly. I find taking the raw footage fine but putting it together into one formatted clip to upload is such a struggle. (it would take hours to merge, cut, add music and upload). Help! Thanks in advance for any tips 😃
I could do a video on this. I just upload all my footage from the day into an app on my phone and trim out the extra parts. It's a 30 minute process for me
@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker thank you very much! I’m going to tow a small trailer with my motorcycle and resupply in it. I’ll park trailer at my start position. Put my motorcycle on back of car. Drop car off 50 or 70 miles ahead. Then ride motorcycle down to start and park it in trailer. I’m going to flip flop NOBO from Pa to Ma. Then return to PA and go SOBO to Ga. I have a calendar full of times I must get off trail. Only part that stinks is dragging the trailer back to Tn. Oh well it will be great 👍 I have no time constraints. I could go into a campground for some R&R. Thanks again! I like your vlogs. You and Kyle were funny.

This video is low key and subtle. Hiking by myself in snow is soothing, my trekking poles feel extra floaty in the snow.

Yeah, there's a ton of trail access. The only parts with not so much access is the Smokys and the 100 mile wilderness in Maine

What… ummm… what do we do with our packs when we go into stores for resupplies? 😂 Assuming they aren’t hanging back at a hostel or something. 😬
Most (many) allow. Put in cart and shop away.
Set outside for the ones that don’t, nbd as it’s not uncommon.

How are you editing and releasing videos while on trail?
