Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince who still here listening to this song 2024 and then some
The energy, passion, raw talent of the golden era!
I hated when some said he was not a real rapper because all of his stuff was clean.
This is for all the people thinking Fresh Prince didn’t have bars
Facts 💯 💯
Folk can say what they want. Jazzy Jeff was a monster on the turntables and Will had a sick flow!
Actually Jazz is still a monster on the turntables. I'm with you tho
@@rshepherd80 and Will still has a sick flow
@@rshepherd80 if you want to see Jazzy Jeff at his best... Check out 1988 the Magnificent Jazzy Jeff!!! " Will starts off by saying, "some DJs are good, some DJs are fresh, some DJs are even Def... But here's a little something about my DJ, the Magnificent Jazzy Jeff"...
He still is!😊
@@marvelousegbo7048 that's right
I wonder why people dont give will lyrical respect when half the world knows his fresh Prince of Bel-air song
Who still jams to this in April 2024?🤔
Me
@@TheGoldenHawaiianSwordsmanDrag the Fresh Prince of Bel Air classic 80s music video. This is hip-hop.
A perfect example of black excellence.
I miss that relationship between the DJ and MC....one needed the other.
And that is when hip hop died!!
Yessss! That was the humble beginnings of Rap & Hip Hop
Um its still there just with producers
Not even close to being there with producers!!
George Maxwell I totally agree being a DJ myself I can also produce but it’s not the same
DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince... The first Hip Hop artists to win a Grammy.....🏆🏆🏆🏆
Will and Jeff's best song, hands down
Man. I miss rap like this. Everyone just having fun and jamming
Majjorr Factss.
Bring back the Goodness in rap...
Real Talk
Back when the dj got love.,
An underrated MC anyone who doesn't think this song is a classic is mistaken....
This was and still 🔥🔥🔥💯🎶🎤
This is better than what Hip-Hop is today.
Classic. Put Respect on DJ Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince's name
Whenever somebody tries to question Will Smith's hip hop cred, I just point them to this classic
Hands down! This thee absolute best
I'd give ANYTHING to go back 33 years to this!!!
WHO BACK FOR THIS JAM IN 2024 BESIDES ME
35 years later and still bumping
Not just an underrated MCee but will was one of the greatest storytellers on the mic. 300%
One of the most underrated lyricists of Hip Hop.
This shit slaps.... Uh... I mean sounds really good.😅
This is when i knew he could flow
He now seems like a completely different person.
Jazzy Jeff is the coldest DJ ever.
💯💯💯💯💯
This song was made in 88. He started rapping in 86. They already been rapping for two years at the time
Hard to deny this one.
Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff were very instrumental at bringing Rap into the mainstream. It started with the Sugar Hill Gang and continued with Kurtis Blow, Run DMC, the Fat Boys, Kid N Play and LL Cool J, but it was Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince who won the first Grammy for Rap Music which officially made it mainstream.
Definitely one of the greatest hip hop songs ever recorded.
Legendary hip hop artist from Philly.
jeff introduced himself as the baddest dj in the land on this cut
New schoolers dont understand that Jazzy Jeff is one of the G.O.A.T.'s at this DJaying
So was DJ Cash Money from Philly .
Young can’t understand before the prince of Bel-Air,will was a respectable rapper
Will was slapping on the flow on this delivery.
One of the greatest songs in hip hop history
Will killed this. Homie spit 🔥!!!
That intro gives me chills everytime I watch it.
jeff's talent was so slept on...
And Will Smith's talent as an MC, too.
Alexander Harris he went hard on this early stuff...people only remember him getting jiggy in summertime
t3rr3nc388 Men in Black, Gettin' Jiggy wit It and Summertime are bangers, but yeah he's done other stuff and I think he's an underrated rapper. People don't take Will Smith seriously as a rapper. Even Nas said 'Will is a true MC'. Will was the first rapper in history to be awarded a grammy in 1988. If you listen to his lesser known tracks and freestyles you realise that Will Smith is a wordsmith.
Nas?! No way!
Gasp
Underrated cut, Jazzy Jeff is the coldest DJ ever.
Yeah my boy will ate on this bruh
Still one of the greatest DJ’s of all time..
He was before his time with this one!! One of the coldest joints in hiphop history.
Super underrated song
I been telling people for years will Smith is one of the most underated lyricist of all time will Smith been spitting crazy hot bars since the 80s
True indeed
True true
First rapper to win a Grammy too.
I'm with you on that! If he had stuck with just being a rapper, he'd be in the conversation for the GOAT right up there with Rakim, Biggie, Tupac, JayZ, Em, etc.
I so agree
I was 12 years old
Jamming this
Now I'm 43
Still love this
you must love this song
Same just turned 43 2 days ago
I was 13. Man this brings back great memories. ❤️
same
42 checking in. Got this cassette tape for Christmas 1988, and been rockin’ the beat ever since!
Jeff Is The Definition Of A Turntablist✊🏾💯
🐐
I keep this album in rotation, even in 2023.🔥🔥🔥
This video hit Yo! MTV Raps and shut down a LOT of haters. All the dudes I knew had to give Will his props. Still hard!! 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
This song SLAPS... Pun intended😂😂😂
When Jeff dropped the beat boy I used to to go crazy
Jeff cutting up on the turntables!!!!
This is when hip hop was an art...the real hip hop
It died as soon as they took the dancing and DJing out the mix and focused solely on the drugged up rapper
And that’s why getting old sucks.
ok boomer
In order, 1. Grand master Flash 2. Jam Master J 3. Jazzy Jeff Three of the best that ever done it, and still doing it, R.I.P. Jam Master J.......
I hear people say Jeff was the doppest dj at this time. Jeff is one of the baddest man to ever touch wheels.
Shout out to sway for bringing me here today.
Me too
Yes!!
SuperRecon81 u set it off
SuperRecon81 Me Also!!
Shit is dope!!
This song deserved a grammy in my opinion
They Killed at Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip-Hop! My Guys since the first album! Salute! And we STILL love C.Rock too!!
My favorite song of all time. Moms brought me the cassette in 1989 for Christmas.
Don't forget Jazzy Jeff was one of the dopest dj's around at this time. Dude was like a wizard on the turntables
Jazzy Jeff was and still is the dopest DJ ever imo
He pioneered the transformers scratch.. DJ Jazzy Jeff is arguably the best and definitely one of the top three to pick up a turntable period facts! Sincerely yours Generation X my regards...🎉r💽📀💿
@@NativeJeffSmith yes sir king
Still Rockin!!!
Not "at this time" ... ever. Period.
beat still hit hard 30yrs later
It’s harder than Chris Rock lol
It still slaps 😂
2023...still dope
He was in his bag at this time 🔥
🎉❤WATCHING EAGLES GAME SUNDAY
It’s so crazy how his success actually made people forget he was a dope lyricist back in the day. Jeff still one of the illest DJ/producers in hip hop of all time.
Figured it was the right time to say this. Fresh Prince actually goes hard on this song
It slaps
Lol
Facts
Legends hands down yes sir!
On my father he did
He was such an underrated lyricist. Always thought Will Smith was a dope MC especially in his prime. What makes him even more talented as a musician is that he never had to curse and was able to reach all cultures of people with his music.
That why i really like him and jazzy, cause they didnt need to curse!!!(I heard he(will) told his grandma he Wouldnt do). They are definitely underrated!!!!!
Over thirty years old and I still remember rocking to this when the video came on. Fresh Prince left Earth on this song.
You canNOT forget Jeff!!!!!! 2:45 😎
This joint still knocks! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Had to watch the video after seeing the Grammy Performance 🫡🫡🫡
This was my favorite song that they ever made. Dope beat and Prince killed it.
My stepdad just put me on to this song reminding me that Will Smith was a dope ass rapper. And he was right. 🔥🔥🔥
Summertime will always be a classic if you haven’t heard that one from Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince
This album highly underrated.
This is the hardest dopest song that they ever dropped.
No doubt!!!
I concur
True
There's also this...

Sure is
32 years later this is still hot. This is when Rap Music was fun, I think Jazzy Jeff was one of the most underrated DJs, but Will Smith knew how valuable he was at mixing different beats together.
Dayummmmm I'm old
Defintely not underrated, he was considered one of the best DJs on the planet in the mid 80s, I used to listen to all their mixtapes as well as Cash Money and Marvellous, they were on par and unbelievable.
There was one other just as cold as Jeff . DJ Cash Money that got down with Marvelous go check 'em out . NOT the cashmoney crew from down south .
Cash Money and Marvelous from Philly 1987 & 88 . Ugly people will U please Be quiet .
No lies told her!!!🔥🔥🔥💯🎤🎶
Nah Jeff ain’t underrated. I think folks hold him up as one of the greats.
still to this day fire!!!!!!!!!
told my nephew this is what concerts was like in the 80's. fun as hell. "fresh fest tours"
No metal detectors no heavy security...just fun
Fresh Fest was the shit!! I went to all of them in the mid to late 80's until all the fights brought them to an end because white venue owners wouldn't allow them to book them.
Ikr
That's rite
Didn't have to curse or rap about drugs or violence to be considered cool. I miss that.
Gr8 Things more ppl need 2 live by. ALL that cussing, drugs, violence isn't NECESSARY
Don't leave out DJ JAZZY JEFF IS ONE TALENTED SOB
They let the world know they arrived on this!!!!!
The Slap brought me here. He snapped though
Wow this is my first time hearing this song and I am blown away
"You shoulda seen the people dancing and shaking and moving and jumping and spinning and clapping while the beat box was grooving and screaming and yelling while on the microphone I was flowing, fresh rhymes I was showing, the people said 'Yo! Keep going!" So I continued to rock. Special assistance from my homeboy Ready Rock!." This is my favorite verse from The Fresh Prince, with the second verse from Parents Just Don't Understand running a close second.
Work Then
I miss the Fresh Prince. 😔
Philly born and bred! 337 people are tripping!
Late 80s will always be sort of like the start of a golden age for me!
Some of the GREATEST Rap music came out "87 thru '89 . Hands Down !
Underrated rap duo
This song slaps lol 😂
DAMN 30 YEARS AGO ALREADY?!!
PHILADELPHIA STAND UP!!!
Definitely underrated they got overlooked by the Eric Bs, EPMDS, and RUN DMCs ect.. Great time for hip hop lots of creativity back then!!
One of my favorite raps and rap songs still to this day! Nobody got killed or shot nor drug during this song!!
My favorite song by them! Yes I graduated in 1988! Yeah I rocked the BEAT! We use to kill it! I love my generation with original rap! Yes, I will ALWAYS rock this FUNK!!😜😜😜😜😎😎😎😎
A lot of young cats don't know that Will Smith is a real MC and not just an extraordinary actor. Of course he had one of the DOPEST DJ's in the game too.
Gonna miss them 90s summertime philly block parties. 💯✌🏾
They were destined for greatness!
Hip hop was so beautiful.
It sure was.
respect from italy the real hip-hop rap classic 90s 💣🔥👊🔝🎙✌🙏
When hip-hop was authentic
They make a dope team and they still do. Jazz is a beast on them turntables and Will got that fresh and clean flow!! 👌
I will love this song FOREVER. In my estimation, it's DAMN NEAR PERFECT. It's timelessly listenable.
I was born in 85 and heard this song for the first time a week ago and was immediately hooked! This song eats!!! The flow, that baseline, this video, the dancing etc. Everything about it is official!!!
First concert ever...
Dj Jazzy and Fresh Prince, Technotronic opened up...
Seeing Jazzy Jeff and The Fresb Prince, Whoudini, and Run Dmc in concert was definitely the most amazing thing of all of my generation.
