- Bloopers from the British sitcom, Vicious, starring Ian McKellen as Freddie and Derek Jacobi as Stuart. I do not own any of the content used, and all rights belong to ITV and the writers/producers of Vicious.
Knowing these two fancied each other back in the old days just makes that chemistry make so much sense. They’re absolutely brilliant together.
Oh that was such a long time ago! LOL
I believe that was when they were both at St. John's in Cambridge together.
Apparently, it was a one-way street. LOL
@@BlondieSLwho liked who?
@@aleeshasurmon6502
Derek Jacobi liked Ian McKellen, but Ian wasn't interested.
I don't if this was why, but honestly, Derek wasn't what might be called a handsome man when younger. I mean, not bad, but not hot.
But as Derek got older, he got a lot better looking.
Now... life has moved on from those precious days of yore.
.
sigh
@@BlondieSLI actually heard it told in an interview a while ago (I think by Sir Ian) that they did fancy each other but each was convinced the other was not interested. So maybe you heard Derek's side of the story before they cleared it up. :-)
@@beth12svist That might be it right there.
It's funny how life turns out.
That 'hooray!' from the audience and Ian and Derek's reaction is one of the best things I've seen.
Steve Payne omg. So funny
Steve Payne
Had me in stitches love. 😂
Just an outstanding show.
It crossed both persuasions thats why. Both straight and gay men can relate. Its why ive never cared that these two are gay. They are kings among men for their talent.
It is the most English reaction ever 😅😅
I lost it when the audience cheered at the fact that Ian finally managed to say "stop nagging" 😂
Lmao! Right! Like yay!
"Pantomime's come early this year!!"
even their bloopers are brilliant
"he's giving me notes" "If only she'd take them!" LOL
A wizard and a Time Lord living together 😂
Two of the most brilliant actors of our time. Still can't understand why there were not more seasons of this wonderful series. There was so much room for development when it ended.
Fawlty Towers/The Office UK/ Fleabag/This Series all like to leave the audience wanting me and just do the traditional UK 2 Series...:)
Yes I agree its a shame there was,nt more episode .
They wanted to continue; unfortunately both Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi had such full schedules it was impossible for either of them to commit further to a regular series.
I wish they made more episodes of this show. It was pure genius and acted superbly.
Their natural kindness, goodness, and sweetness shines through in their exchanges during these bloopers. Thank you so much.
"It's past his bed time" is met Mr. Jacobi's "but not with you". One of the funniest tv shows ever.
Two old queens having back and forth jabs at one another. Absolutely love it! McKellen and Jacobi are absolute gems.
I could watch these two old queen’s snark at each other for the rest of my natural life.
Two acting legends. Two geniuses. They could be reading to me a manual how to operate a washing machine and I still would be smitten.
Couldn't stop laughing when the audience ruined Ian's line.
the best ever blooper
That's Sir Ian to you.
That was hilarious. And the look on Sir Ian's face was classic.
I've watched this so many times, and that's the whole reason why!!!
I could imagine some, more pompous, actors being really annoyed by that. 👏👍
"Of course I don't need to talk about it...so you can stop nagging me--"
"YAY!" XD
The trick on the whole, Derek, is to let the other actor say his lines. During that pause where you're not speaking....
You could be a touch quicker, love.
madabbafan it was actually: “could you be a touch quicker, love?”
Epic !!
I love these two. On "Inside the actor's studio" Ian revealed that he and Derek had gone to school together, and Ian had been madly in love with Derek, who didn't know. "But he told me very recently that he'd been madly in love with me and we never did anything about it!"
Lilan625 not school, university. They both went to university together. One of the props in this show is a real photo taken of them both when they were at uni.
Always the case, innit?
They couldn’t do anything about it! Homosexuality was illegal at the time in the uk.
@@nicolebee3283 roommate trope, anyone?
@@nicolebee3283 didn’t stop people!
Great actors with a sense of humor who don't take themselves too seriously. Wonderful.
Vicious was a truly brilliant series tbh.
Two of the greatest actors in the world having a great time on set. Sir Derek is the greatest Hamlet that I have ever seen and Sir Ian is the greatest MacBeth that I have ever seen. Both of them brilliant.
I can't say I remember Sir Ian playing Macbeth but Richard lll must have slipped me by. I know Sir Patrick has not long ago actually and got an award for his part in Hamlet as Claudius and the ghost of Hamlets father, with David Tennant in the title roll (who was also amazing as his Richard ll was too) .I remember too Sir Derek being in Sir Kenneth Brannahs unabridged version of Hamlet.
So many classic actors.. I've also noticed how they all play baddies so well! They seem to like British Actors as bad ones!)
I would have to add a different favourite sir for fav Macbeth, sir Patrick Stewart
@@chiarabookworm4482 ABSOLUTELY! Patrick Stewart was the best McBeth I’ve EVER SEEN! The entire production was stunning!
@@benjaminsidneykidd-bentley3966 Sir Ian played Richard III in a movie setting the stage in a 30-ties like fascitic distopian world, think it was before his Magneto or Gandalf roles.
I remember Derek Jacobi playing Cadfael in the 90s. Absolutely brilliant.
I heard it was a laughter track they used, this confirms they didn't - I'm glad, love this show
Hello I'm Nik nope it was in ITV studios. and I was there when they were filming. hysterical. It was also the first sitcom to be filmed there since Barbara.
Who else would love to hang out w/ these guys on-set? (raises hand enthusiastically) I would!
ME!
They be hard work but I love them.
Hi. I’m a little late 😱🙄Danielle but me too!!! What fun it would be. I have loved these two for decades! ❤️😘
*wave arms* Me Me ME!!
🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Can you imagine being in that audience? That would be a slice of heaven.
They are like an old married couple.
Camp it up ladies.
Love Ian and Derrick. They both gel so well.
Would’ve loved to have seen an episode with Patrick Stewart in. Another classically trained actor.
This is the gayest thing I've ever seen. I love it.
Oh my, they're so funny even off-screen! This is one of the best TV shows I've watched in a while
Actually, it's not off screen - they are filming in front of an audience.
That cheer from the audience was absolutely brilliant 😂😂😂
These two make an adorable couple. This show was so funny and I was sad to see it end, but it had a great run.
Bring back this show !!! America misses "Vicious" !!!!
They're just two absolutely cute old darlings that are just absolutely irresistable.
Love this 🥰 Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi are such legends. Whoever decided to pair them together is a genius! Their chemistry is top notch. Vicious is definitely one of my favourite shows. Shame it had to end 🥺
Wow, the chemistry between McKellen and Jacobi 🙌
oh, I would have loved to be in that studio audience!
Karen Katz I was. it was amazing.
And I would love to see capitals in comments...
Two Queens just having a laugh with the audience.....Priceless
It's such a disappointment that this show must come to a close.
Has it finished? season 2 was the end? NO! i was loving this show so much!
+mehdi raza I could be wrong, but I believe there's a final season or show to be aired.
According to Wikipedia, a final episode was filmed in December 2015, it aired last week in the US and will air later this year in the UK.
I heard they were doing a few episodes throughout this whole year to make a final season. Not sure if that came true though. It was supposed to be just a few special episodes, one every now and then through the year, ending with a big christmas special.
All the best sitcoms only have 2/3 series, they quit while they're ahead
Those two darling old queens...if I make it that far I'll be one of them
Magneto and The Metatron having a nice retirement 😂
"Pantomime is coming a bit early this year," I can only imagine these two in a pantomime. Too bad John Inman has passed away before this series was done; would have been the perfect addition (though Derek seemed to channel him on a couple of lines).
It's passed his bed time and Derek's reply not with u had me laughing alot
Love it with the audience cheers during the scene the actors don’t get upset.
I’ve watched Vicious countless times and laughed all the way through 🤣🤣🤣 they are two of the very best British actors ever & the rest of the cast are amazing 🤩
“You could be a touch quicker love.”
That’s not what he said _last_ time.
🤭
1:46 Ian McKellen doing that kick is adorable!
This show as so funny. Love seeing the bloopers. I saw Ian McKellen in a play and he was mesmerising. You couldn’t take your eyes off him in this play.
Love the 'yay' when Ian finally gets the line right. I loved this show. So glad that we got it here in the states.
"He's giving me notes!
If only you'd use them!'
Priceless
Mia7189 if only she’d take them... that’s what Ian said!
Most of the episodes are on YT! I just discovered it and binged it.
If only *she'd* take them.
0:54 is my favorite part. The look on Ian McKellen's face is priceless.
Loved this series, and these two wonderful guys were the reason why-they so obviously loved working together.
When you had two amazingly talented gay men playing outrageous theatrical gay men, it was a recipe for brilliance. So sad the series didn't run and run.
Brother Cadfael and Gandalf the White bickering like an old married couple... Sheer genius
who needs scripts with these two adlibbing??!!!
And who needs capitals...
@@eknaap8800 : I would say all of the 195 sovereign countries in the world for a start.
@@briangraham5156 : No. One would create problems doing that...
Every time I need to cheer myself up, I come back here and watch this
I wish there would be more Outtakes /Bloopers from Vicious!!!
It is so wonderful to see these Two gifted Actors at work :-)
I wish they'd make another series of this. It was such gold.
Thanks for posting this.
You really get to see their personalities and how they interact with each other off film. Excellent blooper real. Or as we call it at home in the UK, outtakes.
Derek Is my Ideal guy over a certain age, he is extremely handsome and you would never believe he is in his eighties. Long may he continue being fabulous.
This is about the funniest gag reel I've ever seen!
It's clear these two amazing men had a blast filming this series. I love this blooper/outtake video.
Two absolute gems of British theatre. Masters both, even when they make mistakes. Wonderful.
Well
One of them is the War Master
The other is the Master of Magnetism
Working on this series must have been like a holiday for Ian and Derek. No complex costumes or make up. No location shoots or travel. Just show up, act like a couple of hammy, over the top theater kids and see how many giggles they could get out of the audience (and each other.)
All these were found on the TV show "It'll be alright on the night" hosted by Griff Rhys Jones. There's another one i know where Sir Ian (Freddie) walks down the stairs and says "grandchildren, how long does she expect to be alive!" *Pause* "And that ladies and gentlemen, is the first mistake of the evening." and walks back up the stairs. :D
Gavardo any idea which episode?
Two fabulous actors of our time.
they’re such talented and natural actors that i can’t tell if these are real bloopers or acted “bloopers”
These two are so priceless 💜
This is one of the most hilarious sitcoms I've ever seen...such a gifted and we'll picked cast 😂😂
this pair will forever be the best
"You invented handsome" actually sounds like a tremendous compliment, especially coming from ian
Absolutely brilliant 👏.. more comedy like this please .. vicious was excellenty written and preformed
This is so wonderful! I wish there was more behind the scenes stuff like this
"Oh get it right..." xD perfect
These two are absolutely amazing
Heaven would be romping with these two!
Well, that was bloody brilliant, the moment when the audience ‘yayed’, oh my goodness, poor Ian, hahaha!
Two of Britain's finest, a joy to watch.
love you for uploading this. love them for being them. delicious and clapbacks given with love
I don't know what show this is from but I laughed whole-heartedly. They obviously have tremendous rapport to "nag" at each other the way they do. Hilarious.
It’s called “Vicious”, and it’s brilliant. Not to mention, in the show there’s a young actor who moves in upstairs from them who is straight but extremely innocent and sweet. Imagine my horror seeing that same actor in Game of Thrones-I walked in and said, “Oh look, it’s Ash from Vicious; I just love him he’s so adorable. My husband gave me a strange look, because the character was Ramsay Bolton.
Talk about vicious!! 😂
Shame they didn't do anymore it was a fantastic show ❤️
This was on PBS a few years ago. I loved it. Glad I get to see it again. It was strange, watching Iwan Rheon play Ash as he was also in Game of Thrones as the very scary Ramsay Bolton. The whole cast is so good.
I think this is the best thing I have seen on youtube so far.
I love these guys! actually the whole cast is awesome... much love
The audiences clearly adore these two geniuses. well, who doesn't?
"oh, get it right"
.
.
.
...
"it's past his bedtime"
"well not with you tonight"
Crikey found this last year and loved every moment and actors were amazing.. wish it would have lasted longer.. this is priceless.....!!!! and when '' Ash'' arrives.. '' sorry I do hope I'm saying it right',.. lol just had to say it.. lol.. this show was a breath of fresh air and made me laugh and it was amazing!! Ace!
The amount of "gayness" here is simply awesome!
I've been a massive fan of Sir Derek & Sir Ian forever so to have them working together is everything! Love it!
"He's giving me notes" - probably the only person who would ever dare! 😂😂😂
Two top-notch actors having a great time filming this superb sitcom.
Thank you for this one. Never laughed so much in yonks. The two actors are marvellous together. Ta again. Cheers.
The fact that Sir Ian is intentionally dropping the f word to crack Sir Derek up is amazing. Reminds me of the Blandings episode where what's-his-name (also played Wormtail in the HP movies) is trying to make Jen Saunders break character and laugh; you just see it on her face that she's two seconds away from utterly losing it. Love British actors.
Timothy Spall
Yes! Cheers
Two masters at play. Even the bloopers tell you that
"Oh do get it right."- Derek Jacobi is epicsauce! He was brilliant as Francis Bacon; I,Claudius; anything Shakespeare.... forget about it, he's s great actor... and he's stellar in this as well, unsurprisingly....
Derek Jacobi did the best Hamlet I've had the pleasure of watching in a BBC TV production in 1980. I hated studying that play at high school until I watched it.
didn't he also play as master in one of the Doctor Who Series
I thought he was a bit too queeny in the Francis Bacon role.
@@Theri4444 . Yes he did .
@@Theri4444 he's doing The Master on the big finish label... absolutely fantastic !
And dame Judy Dench: " I have an Oscar I don't need this bullshit.😮 Actually I was relieved she was not appearing on the show. Such self-conplacent actress 😁
God I hope I’m half this fabulous when I’m older.
Two old gents in top form. Derek Jacobi is _phenomenal_ in I Claudius. (As is Patrick Stewart and John Hurt) A must see.
Jeff Stone
Love that series! John Hurt, “Yes, uncle. Ca-Ca-Capri.”
Two of the finest actors who ever walked the boards.
I love these two! So natural and effortless chemistry between the two. I also found it hilarious when the audience were involved with literally counting the 'takes'.
Hilarious! Two wonderful actors!
Love this program the best thing BBC had on for a long time I’m glad I bought them all on video
I snorted tea into my nose.
ToastyFloss we call that a tea pot.
Just brilliant two great actors on top form
When you realize that the War Master and Gandalf are secretly a gay couple in their spare time 😂😂
Hilarious; watching each episode, I choked, and after watching the bloopers, I choked even more! Just live this show!!
