    Nice footage of a good old soldier still doing exactly what was designed to do. I really don't think the more modern designs are gonna be anything but scrap before they reach the age of this one.

    I have operated everything from a D3 up to a D11 but the 9H is by far my favorite

    That D9 needs a "Blaylock" variable vane turbo like JPaydirt uses. Extended his oil change intervals, less soot in the oil from the engine accelerating.

      PAmining I think it would be neat to do a series with machines from first breaking ground to reclamation. Planning and design is interesting also.

      Yes if you could do a series of videos from going in and clearing the trees to start stripping the overburden to pulling the coal out then reclamation that would be a awesome series of videos

    Awesome to see that ole cat work we have a 50s D6 and it’s a great dozer on our farm for clearing brush and pushing and pulling out stumps but I can’t believe these were the big dozers in there day now there massive but nothing beats these old machines

      danvert davis yea I guess we don’t have a newer D6 but we do have a D3C and we hate it because every control is backwards from our D6

    in the UK this old girl would of been cut up for scrap long ago. its nice to see old iron working and earning its keep

    Thanks for this video. a question, it seems to me this could be done faster with a wheel loader to pick up the coal then move it?, OR bring in a dragline to move it farther and faster? which is cheaper....a dragline, a bulldozer or a wheel loader to do this moving of coal? thanks.

      A dozer is most effective and commonly used for doing any stockpiling work around a belt line. Thanks!

    Hydro Cylinders need to be adjusted. One side bottoms out before the other.

    Is preparation plant another name for a breaker? I'd like to see to you do a start to finish video,all the steps it takes from getting it out of the ground to finished product. I hope the industry is gaining momentum. I enjoy your videos 👍

      Pretty sure that's how you want to steer a low drive tractor under load. Otherwise you can easily through a clutch.
