- Whenever we asked people if they'd been to Jarabacoa, the answer was always "Yes! You'll love it, it's beautiful". Beyond that, we had no idea what to expect, but we were blown away.
We traveled to this incredible destination with our friends, @DelightfulTravellers -- be sure to check them out and subscribe!! Let's get them to 100k!!
Jarabacoa sits at around 1500 feet above sea level, making it a temperate climate year round. Surrounded by mountains and lush forest landscape, you won't believe that this is in the Dominican Republic.
Jarabacoa is known for its parasailing, outdoor activities like 4-wheeling and restaurants with a view. We were so excited to try it all!
First on the agenda was an incredible UTV tour through the mountains of Jarabacoa with @4wheeljarabacoa_oficial ( / 4wheeljarabacoa_oficial . This is a NOT TO MISS tour! The team took great care of us, showing us the true beauty of Jarabacoa and the surrounding mountains. We were able to cross rivers, climb mountains and see the beautiful countryside in an incredible UTV.
Next up, Jamaca De Dios, an incredibly overpriced restaurant with a stunning view. We highly recommend reserving a table well in advance and coming by for a drink after an adventurous day. You can watch the parasailers fly over the roof of the restaurant. With one of the highest vantage points in the valley, this restaurant is worth the trip.

Pico Duarte is the highest point in the Caribbean and we also have the lowest point, as well.
That’s true, it is the highest! We might try to climb it soon, I can’t even imagine what it looks like from up there 😃 …. The lowest too? Where’s that? We haven’t heard of that yet 🤔

@@VoyagerGuru Lake enriquillos is also the biggest lake of the caribbean and it has three times more salt concentration than the ocean.

Totally agree - when we moved to Cabarete, we knew it was the perfect place for us. We love the Dominican Republic- there is SO MUCH to explore

Hi Johnny! Thanks so much for your comment! We typically use the Sony A7siii paired with our go-to 20mm f1.8 lens.
