I’ve been brewing all grain for years and a UA-camr here in the UK sent me a turbo / hard cider and I loved it. So I’ve just brewed my first one forced carbonated it and I’m loving it 👍and now looking forward to experimenting with some different turbo ciders , as you said super quick and easy fantastic cheers from over the pond 👍🍻
Big shout out to MoreBeer for hooking up the Boiron Fruit Purees!!! They are easy to use and provide so much flavor! Go pick some up here...www.morebeer.com/index?a_aid=ElementaryBrewing
I may steal this. I'm tempted to buy a 4 pound frozen mango bag from Costco instead. Using a hazy yeast for fermenting is pretty awesome. Thanks for posting.
Cider is so easy and fun to do cause there is so many possibilities. I did a hibiscus cider and man that was a huge hit. You should try adding oak cubes and or citra hops for a few days to a week. Such a great addition. For me I love to use S-04 as my yeast then I let mine sit for 2-4 weeks after kegging.
@@turfaddicts3153 I made my base cider of juice and juice concentrate, fermented with S-04 let sit for 2 weeks. Took dried hibiscus and cold steeped it in a 64oz mason jar in the fridge for 2 days. then strained through a coffee filter. Transferred the cider onto the 64oz of hibiscus tea. Let sit on c02 for 2 weeks then served. Turned out amazing. Wonderful red color, apple still comes through but you get the slight tart from the hibiscus but lots of the cherry cranberry flavor.
Hey, Im a new homebrewer and I'd like to try this out. For the mixed berry blend did you just add the apple juice, yeast nutrient, and mixed berries, then pitch the yeast? Are there any other ingredients I need for that one? Did you have back sweeten it afterwards? Thanks!
Yup, super simple! 5 gallons juice, 4lb bag of triple berry frozen fruit from Costco, yeast nutrients, and yeast. I fermented with a beer yeast and it finished at 1.012. Still had some sweetness but I did backsweeten with 1 can frozen blueberry pomegranate apple juice and stabilized with potassium sorbate and metabisulfite. Give it a shot! It’s a great summer supper! Cheers 🍻
Yes, all where back sweetened. The tropical ciders all got 2 cans of apple juice concentrate. The triple berry only got 1 can since it finished higher at 1.012 and it was a can of apple juice concentrate with blueberry and pomegranate.
Awesome video Teach! I've always wanted to make a hard cider and your video just lit that fire. Oh and if people aren't using Costco's 3 Berry Blend for their sours and ciders, they're missing out. Cheers!
Do you have any tips on low or no alcohol drinks you brew? I'm looking to lower my alcohol intake but notice it's pretty difficult when you've conditioned yourself to have a beer to relax on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Honestly I've tried brewing NA beers and they suck. Very hard to pull off a good one for the amount of work. My typical go too low alcohol brew is a Berliner Weisse....or sparkling water, LOL!!!
Crazy thing is that I’ve never been a big cider guy…but these are way different than most commercial ciders I’ve had! And lots of room for experimenting, which keeps me interested 🤣
The tropical is 6.5 and the berry ended up at 6.3. The juice yeast only got it down to 1.012 so if you used something else like a cider yeast you could get that up to 7%ish
Maybe a little left over but it’s less sour than a Berliner Weisse. And I back sweetened as well with concentrate so they taste more sweet than sour to me, I’d need to take a PH reading on it though to find out for sure.
Как всегда отличный ролик!Не делал сидр,но стоит попробовать!В идеале самому сделать сок ,но это трудоемко(Можно попробовать из концентрата у него 66% по сахару.Ягоды не забивали BALL LOCK?

Dude heck yeah! Ciders are so fun to make, and nice to throw one together when you got an empty keg!
For sure!!! Channeling my inner BruSho for sure!

Cheers Braj 🍻

I want to 'brew' a cider soon. Thanks for the content
Do it! Super quick…compared to all grain beer 🤣

Love making ciders. Recently received two scores of 47 on my tropical cider. How tart did these turn out? I always backsweeten. They look great!
Thanks!!! Not to tart, but on the sweeter side, cheers 🍻
Did you thaw the fruit mix?
@@kiernanmay8177 yes
Love making hard cider as it is so easy. Did you back sweeten any or leave them dry as my ciders alsways end up down around 1.000?
Back sweeten both. The tropical was around 1.006 so we sweetened with 2 cans of concentrate. The berry only finished at 1.012 so I only used 1 can.

How did u make your hibiscus cider?

So I made the cider and scaled everything to 2 gallons. After 2 weeks in fermenter, the fruit floated to top and developed mold. What went wrong?
Hey just wondering you never took reading what they all start out at and did they go dry?
The tropical ciders started around 1.054ish they finished between 1.001 and 1.004. The berry cider started ant 1.060 and finished at 1.012. Cheers 🍻
Nice and Juicy.

Would you get more fruit flavor/sweetness by adding the fruit in secondary?
Could definitely try that but the purée was pretty thick so it would definitely change the mouth feel as well. Cheers 🍻
@elementry have you made wine? I met a guy in a craft brew bar in Budapest that hopped white wine. Sounds kind of tempting...
Oh yeah that sounds super interesting! Haven’t ever made wine either, sounds fun! Cheers 🍻
Yum🍻
Did you back sweeten any of these?
Yes, all where back sweetened. The tropical ciders all got 2 cans of apple juice concentrate. The triple berry only got 1 can since it finished higher at 1.012 and it was a can of apple juice concentrate with blueberry and pomegranate.

@@ElementaryBrewingCo alright, good to know. Did you try any hop water as well?
I gotta do this! Not gonna lie, sometimes I get burned out on brewing beer, and go through periods of empty taps - can’t have that! Cheers!
Crazy thing is that I’ve never been a big cider guy…but these are way different than most commercial ciders I’ve had! And lots of room for experimenting, which keeps me interested 🤣
Great vid. So the triple berry was just the apple juice and the berries, and not the purées, correct?
Yes! Cheers 🍻

Guess I am making some cider.
Sounds good to me!
Isn't this extremely acidic?
When the yeast eats all fruit sugar all that's left is sour or am.i wrong?
