- India has launched its third Moon mission and is hoping to become to the first to land near its south pole - which has rarely been explored.
If successful, the Chandrayaan-3's orbiter, lander and a rover are due to touch down on the Moon's surface on 23 or 24 August.
The rocket set off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre space centre just after 09:05 GMT (10:05 BST; 14:35 local time).
The launch by the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) is the country's first major mission since Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government announced policies to spur investment in the space industry.

Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), India's first interplanetary mission to planet Mars was launchedonboard PSLV-C25 on November 05, 2013. ISRO has become the fourth space agency to successfully send a spacecraft to Mars orbit.Though the designed mission life is 6 months, MOM completed 7 years in its orbit on Sept 24, 2021.

Congratulations to india and all space scientists, it’s not about who reached the space or discovers something first, it’s about how you benefit humanity and India has shown this in there previous missions and this mission, many Indian scientists not only posses great knowledge and skills but also spiritual and intuitive abilities. Humans will evolve in a right direction When the nations will understand to combines science, Technology and spirituality just like india. Steve jobs once said “we don’t make lot of products but we take time to make great products which will enrich people’s lives”.
Great innovation happens when you have challenges like budget constraints and specially when you know the project is to achieve benefits for humanity and not to show off or boast the world about your achievements. Lots of courage and support to India from United Kingdom.
Our founding father's focused on science and technology despite the challenges related to poverty .
In 1970s ISRO was transporting rocket parts on bulluckcart due to lack of fund. We came out long way from there . Our space agency reduced the cost of mission by using small rover rather than using car size rover We used cost effective less powerful engine thats why we not went directly rather we first did Earth bound maneuvers to gain momentum then did lunar tranfer trajectory ( straight path) .
The total cost of mission is 75 million dollars less than Hollywood movies are made 😀

This is the second rover, first one couldn't survive the hard landing on moon.
Fuc fact the first attempt to land on South part of the moon which wasnt completely successful, had an orbiter which was successful though. That orbiter is still active and has the highest resolution camera on board till now.

Its not cheap one, its efficiently planned mission. When you can use your brains you dont need to pay more money. The craft uses the earth's gravity to push the craft close to moon.
