As a banker, let me give some of the recent news.
Foreign donations came into India through NGOs/Trusts. They had to open a FCRA account at any bank to recieve foreign donations. These Brits use this channel to get their money into India. After the money comes in, we dont know how or where its used. A lot do go into illegal activities.
However recently , sometime in 2021 or 2022, the Indian Govt. has banned FCRA accounts in all banks, with exception to the SBI , Delhi Branch. Now if u wanna open a FCRA account, it can be opened only at SBI, Delhi branch. This means the Govt. is now monitoring the money coming in.
That's the way it should be!

The truth is that, more than ten years ago the British Government said that India has come a long way from being a poor country to a self-confident country that now has all the resources needed not only to eliminate poverty but also become a well developed country in future. For that reason, the British Government decided to stop providing economic aid to India and increase aid to some African countries where people still live in extreme poverty. The India Government at that time, led by Manmohan Singh, agreed and declared that India does not need any aid from Britain any more. Here some obscure British journalist says that India should return back aid to UK. The British Government IS NOT demanding India to return back aid given in the past and the Indian Government has NO plans to return back any aid received from UK in the past. Then why give importance to what an individual British journalist says. It is just her own views and has nothing to do with British or Indian policy on this matter. So stupid patriotic Indians commenting here think her views reflect the British Government's views.

Also on another completely different note with regards to CNN channel 18 I just wanted to say that you're moving parts and moving sections to your visual video and all the different split screens and flipping words and Graphics that are just going in different directions all at the same time on the screen makes this otherwise very interesting video extremely distracting to watch if you guys could possibly look into cutting back on some of the visual distractions while you've got your guests on it would make it a lot easier to endure. But otherwise it was a fascinating report and great interview hats off to CNN channel 18 in India.
