- Quick demo on Super Solvent and how to remove super glue from model. It's a debonder that is safe for styrene and works really quick. I also compare it with VMS Debonder which, eh. (better than VMS)
Thanks very helpful video ! I just managed to find some and bought a bottle .
You bet! I hope you like it as much as I do.
Can this be used with any model kits produced by bandai or Tamiya?
I use it all the time on Tamiya and it's perfectly fine but I'm not sure about Bandai. I would suggest testing it on the sprue and test it on each color plastic.
Is it safe to use on plastic miniatures like warhammer?
I used it on my Krieg infantry and it didn't hurt it but I would suggest testing a small spot on yours first. You never know and better safe than sorry.
This stuff is amazing. I always have a couple bottles in stock. Way better than the VMS offering.
Right! This was actually my first video because I wanted to try and spread the word. I don't see a lot of people using it for plastic models, mainly woodworking. That's a shame because it's probably the best on the market. Thanks for watching!
Nitromethane
Yep that's all it is, works amazing.
@@SCM223 It do works quite well, i've used it, while also quite dangerous...
Yeah someone else said the same thing so I did the math on it. You'd have to ingest 16oz of it before you'd have a 50% chance of getting hurt (ld50) and constantly, without taking a break, breathe in the amount used in scale modeling for over a month before reaching toxic levels. I'm a chemical compliance officer so I have to know things like this. If you're concerned, there are other options, they just don't work well or leave oily residue.
@@SCM223 If it's relative safe, then the sad story would be it's a regulated stuff in my country, not so easy to get it, and the certain product i know that it is actually 100% Nitromethane in fact, has tuns of fake in the market, with acetone inside....
I understand, it's unfortunate. In the US we can't get Tamiya enamel paints because of regulations. I have a friend in Europe who uses Everbuild Debonder (I think that's it's name) and he seems to like it.
