Good review. Might I make a suggestion? You changed out the suspension and never explained why, unless I missed it. If you are going to review a bike, you should ride it as-is out of the box as the brand intended. Changing the suspension changes the character of the bike, so it’s not exactly a fair or objective review. Most of us don’t have other suspension parts lying around and are relegated to whatever comes in the box.
I wouldn't consider 142mm of travel an Enduro bike. It's more of an All mountain long travel trail bike. My Delano is 160-142 I definitely not an Enduro bike.
I like that color, never thought I would like pink lol.
It’s kind of more red than pink a little bit, depending on the light!! Such a sick color though!!
@@moandhannahtravel Yup that color reminds me of the 90's good ol days lol.
Still waiting on the 140 shootout. Curious about Switchblade vs Evil Offering
Love the look of that thing and I'm not a pink guy at all. That price though 😂. My last Ducati was only $5k more than this bike.
Pivot’s are the best made Mountain Bikes!
They are fun for sure!!!
Great review & videos in general. Jyst wondering about the bike rider graphics on the frame...are they custom, did they come already on the frame, or can you purchase them somewhere?
They came with it!!!
I own #146 of the 300 Talons that were produced. As soon as I saw the hot neon pink, I knew I had to have it. Was already on the V2 of the Switchblade but have found V3 to be even better. Your review is spot on…your verbiage is a bit different than mine but I’ve been saying that this thing just holds a line like I’ve never seen. Great review and always enjoy the stoke🤘
Thanks so much!!! Such an awesome bike!!
I’ve been considering going from my V2 Switchblade to a V3 but can’t decide if it will be worth the cost. Your comment made me think it might be…
Ugh if you brag on code brakes you haven't ridden much
Awesome video and review, nice work! Would love for you to review the Evil Offering.
Thank you!!! And working on it!!!
I really like the spects of the switchblade I would love to ride one during a demo day🔥
They have a lot of demos!!! 🤘🏾
Haven’t tried the Switchblade, but I demo’d the Firebird and it ruined my mountain biking, lol. Nothing I’ve tried before compares to it, it’s so good. Unfortunately, too $$ for me.
The Firebird looks so awesome!!!
Seems like you guys are transitioning from your nomadic life style (van life), to more of a hometown based business model.
Maybe you two having kids is not far off! 😊 💑😊
😂😂😂
4:40 that view is definitely worth it wow! Gorgeous trail system great bike!
Such an awesome zone!!!
I demoed the Firebird and Trail 429 last year and was able to demo the Firebird twice on two different trail systems (Curt Gowdy in Wyoming which is very similar to 50 year and Hawes and Staunton in Colorado, which is pretty run of the mill Colorado forest trails). My thought on the Firebird, best pedaling bike I have ever ridden, a total beast on tech climbs and super efficient on the pedals, was a tad vague on the downs, felt a lot like a Ripmo with more travel on the downs, that same vague front end that you get on the Ripmo (and I know the Ripmo intimately I rode one for 3 years). If the new switchblade is precise that makes it quite different from the very monster truck-y Firebird. The Trail 429 was the bike where the geo and the fork were writing checks the rear end couldn't cash, great front end, very confident, but seat tube was way too slack and the rear suspension couldn't keep up with the front end on tech.
Imagine Firebird and trail. 429 have a baby and the switchblade is the kid! Kind of best of both worlds!! Pretty rad!
Loved my '21 Switchblade. Currently on a '22 Firebird at love it. Would like to demo the new Switchblade.
I think you will be stoked!!!
its funny, with that first clip i thought "hmm that looks like 50 year, that i just rode yesterday."
sure enough...
Such a fun trail system!!
What’s your take on DVO suspension vs Fox on this Switchblade?
The fox was awesome, but stepping up to a 38 gave it even more bite from the front!
Would be curious to how the v3 Ripmo compares to the Switchblade and the Yeti.
+1 v3 ripmo vs v4 switchjblade. dwlink vs dwlink
Hey, Mo!
Did your DVO shock get a custom tune for this bike?
It did not!! But dvo has the right tune for it!!
Mo, great job on the review. Can't wait to see the comparison between Switchblade and the SB 140! Appreciate the way you review bikes. You do not use a bunch of jargon and always seem to answer the questions I have.
I actually really appreciate how fast you talk haha
Thank you! 😂😂
Sexy! (the bike Mo) I like that pink and the clean geometry.
😂😂😂
I tested out a 2023 Switchblade, i've always been between sizes at 6'1", went for a large and regretted it, way to short. Never rented an XL and ultimately ended up with an SB130LR. Although my SB130 build is absolutely fantastic, I do still wonder how the XL rode. How do you compare the two, I believe you've had some SB130 experience?
The switchblade is way more playful and the yeti is way more stable if that makes sense!! I’m 6’2 and I do an XL on both!!
@@moandhannahtravel I can see that! I remember the Switchblade I rode was very playful, easy to point and pedal
The 2023 model was the prior gen with the 66 degree HTA and generally very conservative geo. When I demoed the Firebird I rode both the large and the medium, and at 5'10" the large was way too big and the medium was fine on reach, but otherwise a little short for a bike of its travel, but OMFG does the Firebird climb like a beast. The long reach + short wheelbase obviously is well suited for slab riding like is the norm at South Mountain, Hawes and 50 year. For the fast chunk of Colorado I found I liked the RM Altitude better and ended up buying that bike over the Firebird.
Everyone knows that the Yeti SB150/160 are the best enduro bikes.
I don’t like my sb140, maybe I’ll like the 160?
If fast chunk is your thing. Yetis are tested on the Apex trail system in Golden Colorado, which has a legendary 1.1 mile high speed rock garden called "the gut", that trail system is a short ride from the Yeti factory.
Have you ever ridden the We Are One Arrival? There aren't many properly done reviews besides the PinkBike stuff.
You guys are not wearing Pit Vipers?
Those are Pit Vipers!! They launched a brand new set called the Try Hards which are cycling specific. They are so good!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Awesome video! talking while riding skills are dialed
Hahaha thanks!!
Love mine!! Feel like I could do any trail.
Such a good bike!!!
That is some insane lines you are doing, you are just popping right over them crazy.
Tuscon really is amazing and so is the bike!!
@@moandhannahtravel Dang I would love to ride there!
Amazing video
Thanks so much!!!
Pivots don't fit me. Medium too small. The large is too big.
When did you try one? Always sucks when that happens! But the new ones are slightly larger so maybe try again?
5'10" by chance? I demoed the Firebird in both medium and large last year, the large was way too big, the medium was fine on reach, but the wheelbase was a little too short relative to the travel and intended use of the bike for me at 5'10"
I doubt med is too small this year. It’s 460 reach, most mediums are around 450 range
Nice review!
Thanks!!!
How do you find this compared to the Ripmo?
High position with an angleset seems to solve a few issues.
Since I saw it for sale I would guess it isn’t a keeper.
Unfortunately we don’t have a say on if we can keep test bikes. But I’m in the market for a personal bike soon, this will be high on the list!!
@@moandhannahtravel you need to test a nice Enduro Hardtail. So much fun on our local trails.
I love the look of the bike. I recently got that saddle and its a total game changer.
The saddle is so good!!!!
All MTBs are the same and feel that way as well I love your review of this bike but let’s be honest here if you rode 1 bike you’ve rode them all
I don’t even have to watch the video to know the answer is no…..pivot is overpriced and rides harsh can’t tell me anything else as I have owned two
What do you own now?
Let me guess…you ride a YT or a Canyon and think it’s gods gift to earth?
Which Pivots? I demoed the Firebird twice on two different trail systems last year and found it quite plush, almost as plush as the RM Altitude I ride now. The trail 429 which I also demoed was a tad harsh, but given what I was riding it on, I kinda expected that with all 250lbs of me on a 120 travel bike.
@@JJMassarwell they are …
Pivot revel yeti specialized evil are the top bikes in my opinion
