Having recently finished this game after struggling with it for half a year, I must say it's now right there among the top of my very favorites of all time. The music, story, themes, characters, art & event direction, combat & weapon mechanics and general atmosphere are something really breathtaking, mesmerizing and unique. Few games released after this have managed to create anywhere near as perfect and cohesive package. Such a fantastic gem of a game that deserves far more recognition and at least some kind of re-release (played on PS2 and this could really use more accessible options).
Just beautiful a larger than life representation of all the trails you faced in lea monde to see a man whom you thought a monster but was trying to help his father finally open a path to your dreams and say a final farewell to your family in an epic and underrated game :)
Leandro A. One question, did you understand the ending when his dark past was revealed? Did he really kill Marco and his wife himself or not? I watched a gameplay in English but I couldn't catch that correctly
@m4rkss_mza yeah after some years I think I've understood that it wasn't that important whether he killed the family, if it was his own family getting killed or if those were bystanders in an assassination and they just so happened to be there and died because of this. VKP planted false memories in his head or else they would've lost their commander and main risk breaker and now he was used as their tool. Even Rosecrantz and Sydney didn't completely lie since Rosencrantz is known to lie and bend a lot of people and intel in this game but the fact that he knows about this incident and what happened there and afterwards was proof enough that he had taken part in it too and has known Ashley before for real. Sydney on the other half having revealed Ashley's deepest memories in their form they used to be, while eventually further evolving and changing until the so called "truth" came to light, where it actually didn't matter if it was his family or not since he wanted to make up for his sins. Only the perspective changed on this matter, really.
I played this game at least twenty five times on ps1 and psp. Thinking about getting a ps vita to play again. My favorite themes were the haunting dark coast theme and ending theme where sidney was at the dukes bedside.
Glad I wasnt the only one drawn into this world so seemingly I can recall most bosses, most areas, most weapons like I had just played it yesterday when its been years :) Truly a riveting journey into the creators world of dark characters amazing monsters and a story worthy of song :D Thank you for uploading this I would hope for a sequel but I fear it wouldnt do the game justice :)
Another point, Yasumi Matsuno doesn't direct Square-Enix games anymore, so all the Ivalice region came to an end when he stopped. I don't think a sequel would be at least as good as the 1st, sometimes the best is just stop when it reachs the top and let what was good to be remembered that way. Thank you for watching and comment. :D
Yeah he helped with 12 a lot and left, directed a final fantasy tactics advance game too after Vagrant Story and did write one FF12 Ivalice raid and another one for FF14 and that's it for now. Theoretically a Remaster doesn't seem impossible since one of the other important figures which directed Vagrant Story and FF12 is still there and working now. Maybe someday he wants to tap into it or consider a Vagrant Story themed raid for FF14
For two years in a row, this music has saved me during the most difficult periods of my life.

The writing is some book material, what a world they’ve crafted.
Llegaste al ultimo Rango? El 16? Con todos los titulos?

This gave me a lot of shadow of the colossus vibes
Man, this game was so ahead to its time
Thank you, Common Fruit.
What is this a reference to? I know this is a year old, but I've been seeing it around and I gotta know.
@@BearBoyJW A youtuber(streamer) named otzdarva made a dark souls 2 no hit run(really hard) video with this music.
@@skksksalslsllsslzlzkdinpap5451 Thank you. Just looked into it. Definitely a good song to use to conclude a long meaningful journey like that.

A really unexpected revelation with an epic ending, Truth is so immersive that fits it perfectly.
