  • This abandoned office building originally housed Offshore Power Systems. They were a company that were trying to construct offshore nuclear power stations. The company claimed that hurricanes would have no affect on the sustainability of the power plants but the general thought differently. The general submitted a report that stated “The risks of a core-melt accident on a floating barge are 6 to 30 times greater than the risks of such an accident on a land-based plant.” Once the company realized they would not be able to get the company rolling, they shut down. Three Oaks Plaza had several tenants in the building over the past years but has been sitting vacant and decaying within the Florida weather. Follow along as we go and explore this giant abandoned office building.
    I have a passion for documenting abandoned locations and the intention of these videos is to preserve their history and memory for time to come.

    I was an employee of Offshore Power Systems back in that building's heyday. Thanks for the tour. Havent been in there since I was part of a big layoff of employees in 1978. One of the other buildings housed a Jax FBI office, and the other one was supposed to be converted into apartments, but havent heard much about that recently.

    There's an old office building close to where I am. It's across from Ameris Bank, it looks like it's been closed for a long time. A construction crew just built a new storage unit next to Ameris Bank. I saw some bulldozers over at the old office building, I thought 💭 they were going to tear it down and rebuild it, but, they just fenced it off.

    Not used to recons in bldgs with actual intact walls/roofs (to bust through if spooked). OR being surrounded by city ... simply having no eyes/humans around for miles is reassuring when going in to these places but damn, only takes one glance for someone to drop a dime to the cops. I have to be ready for bears in some but they're more predictable than some bum or squatter that could show any second. Finally, Montana allows carrying w/o permit ... I go in well armed always (esp w/ability to shriek like schoolgirl) yet youse just gots yer guts. Stay safe and KEEP IT UP. Adventure is all around for those who seek it.

    I think my buddy went in this one. He found evidence that a family with young kids were living there. Also he found a dead fix in there. If you want to try somewhere cool go to that old resort back down Arlington expressway towards the bridge on the right. There are people in there that have legit rooms set up and some of then are actually pretty clean, most of them are prostitutes but they were nice. We also found what looked like a murder scene there.

    • @easternncbigfoot1288
      @easternncbigfoot1288 Рік тому

      @Taylor VanBeek Yes its like a hotel but people that lived in Arlington during the time that places was running (70s 80s I believe) refer to it as a resort for some reason. My buddy was actually into the exploring thing pretty hard-core and I've been quite a few places with him such as the old jea building downtown, silos on the Northside off of Buffalo, an old bank downtown, etc. Last time I went to the old hotel we are speaking of there was a freakin van parked in the middle of that place ( not sure how they even got it in there) but there was this creepy crackhead tweaking and hanging out in that van all day, we were spying on him. Oh and I forgot to mention there's the infamous school number 4 but it sucks, looks pretty creepy but sucks. I lived in Jax since the 80s but just moved up here in 2018 , about all this is to explore around here is really old houses but it's pretty fun and you find cool stuff.

    I know those buildings well. I actually condemned them years ago. The city has plans for them but these buildings need a lot of work and it won’t be a quick fix.
